The SpaceThis large room is on the top floor of our listed C17th stone farmhouse. It has lovely views over our gardens and beyond into our fields. We renovated the house a few years back so it has good central heating and a modern bathroom. The price quoted is for 2 people. The room is large enough for 3 adults or 2 adults and 2 to 3 children. A cot can be provided. Guest AccessGuests have access to our garden and breakfast in our dining room. Interaction with GuestsWe enjoy chatting to our guests and showing them our farm and cattle if they are interested. The NeighborhoodCools Farm is in the most beautiful English countryside with a long history. Near Stonehenge, bronze age axe heads have been found here and we believe we have a Roman villa in one of our fields. I imagine the farmers of yesteryear watching our haymaking with amazement as it now happens so fast. In the 1800s, 10 men and 2 boys worked here. Now it is just me and my husband, Quentin with our helper Martin who comes just one day a week! Getting AroundYou really need to have a car here because we are 3 miles from the nearest public transport - the railway station at Tisbury. However, Tisbury is on a direct line from London Waterloo, so if you like walking or have a bike, you can enjoy the peace here. Other Things to NoteAlthough the Family Room shares a private bathroom with one other room, very often you have full use if the other room is not let.

We love looking after our cattle and living in a lovely C17th stone farmhouse. We enjoy sharing this beautiful spot with interesting guests. Getting AroundWe are 3 miles from nearest public transport (main line station to London at Tisbury). We have had guests arrive on bicycles and we sometimes collect people from the station, but you really need a bike or car to get the best out of your stay - unless you just want to be here. Having scooped many accolades from the national press as a B&B; (The Sunday Times, The Guardian, The Times, Country House Interiors) we now have two very stylish apartments at Quidhampton Mill. The Courtyard is on the ground floor and has stunning views over the water meadows and the Wylye River so the only thing to interrupt your view will be grazing sheep and cows! But we're not out in the sticks – our urban retreat is on the western outskirts of Salisbury, less than 10 minutes drive from the heart of the city. On a sunny day just throw back the full length glass doors in the bedroom and the living room and soak up the views. At Quidhampton Mill we believe style and elegance are mandatory – so you won't find polycotton bedding, dust-ridden carpets or magnolia walls. Instead we've included things in our apartments that we'd like to find – goose down duvets and pillows, painted wooden floors, natural coir rugs, fluffy white towels and a beautiful bathroom. And our darling New England decor is now enhanced even further with a brand new fully equipped kitchen in the open plan lounge. Additional guests sleeping on the sofa bed will even be treated to an Italian version by Milano Bedding, often referred to as one of the best quality sofa beds in the world. Food has always been an integral part of the Quidhampton Mill experience. Your kitchen will be stocked with some basic essentials but we also offer an optional shopping service for breakfast items for the following morning, so you don't need to worry about rushing out to the shops as soon as you've arrived. With electric gates, secure off road parking, your own front door and exclusive use of a private Members' Only Health Club (for a nominal fee) this is truly a place that has all the conveniences of home with a dash of luxury. We look forward to giving you a great stay. Quidhampton Mill is located on the western fringes of Salisbury and so is an ideal location to visit Stonehenge which is a 15 minute drive away and has a new Visitor's Centre. Just a few minutes from us is the magnificent Wilton House, the stately home of the Earl of Pembroke, set in 22 acres with a very impressive art collection. Other local gems include a Salisbury City Centre walking tour, Arundells in the Cathedral Close which was the former home of Prime Minister Sir Ted Heath, the Charter Market held every Tuesday and Saturday in the Market Square, a day at the races at Salisbury Racecourse, Old Sarum, Heale House gardens and a full calendar of events at the theatre. Salisbury Cathedral is celebrating the 800th anniversary of the Magna Carta in 2015 so make sure you get to see one of the last four surviving copies at the Cathedral. Another highlight of this neck-straining medieval masterpiece is to take a tower tour by climbing the 332 steps to the base of the spire. Later in the day visit for the Choral Evensong to hear the talented choristers in action. Salisbury is surrounded by beautiful English countryside and villages and this landscape provides great routes for cyclists and walkers. There are also 5 rivers that converge in Salisbury so it is a haven for fishing - we can arrange chalk stream fishing trips on the River Ebble with the services of a very knowledgeable local guide. Two stylish apartments with a darling New England decor and uninterrupted views of the river and water meadows - all less than 10 minutes drive from Salisbury. With electric gates, off road parking, your own front door and use of a private members' only Health Club.

An excellent base from which to explore further afield. We are surrounded by NT woodland, farmland, bridleways, cycle paths... Recommended that you prebook The Beckford Arms pub Tisbury / Hox brasserie and Annouka Indian restaurants Salisbury / Wagga Mammas Salisbury / ten pin bowling and go Karting Salisbury. Longleat or Marwelll Zoo - Go Ape Moors Valley Country Park - all within 1 hrs drive. Nearby flying clubs Old Sarum, Compton Abbas offer the opportunity to arrive by light aircraft stay in luxury fly off after a short break! We will happily collect you or arrange a taxi on request. Getting AroundThere is a public bus stop at the end of Sandhills that provides transport into Wilton, Salisbury or Tisbury which has a Train station linking to Salisbury and onto London. Other Things to NoteWhilst there are 3 bedrooms the bunk bedroom has to be accessed to reach the DBLE and KING bedrooms. It is therefore A WALK THROUGH ROOM with adult size bunk beds. Due to the higher bunk we recommend that only children over 8 years access this high bunk via the vertical ladder. There are privacy curtains on the bunks so you can be private even in a walk through room! The sofa can be made into a pull out DBLE bed accommodating an extra 2 guests should you require (but this is a temporary arrangement at night or you will feel cramped during the day!). The most comfortable number we feel would suit a family of 2 adults sharing the KING BEDROOM plus 2 children in THE BUNK room sharing the Sauna bathroom, plus 2 guests sharing the DBLE en-suite/spa bath room. Two single z beds for a third adult can be placed in each bedroom if required (not bunk room). Unless you request the z beds we assume two will be sharing each dble bed. We also have a bunk camp bed if two children wish to join parents in the double... We have had three groups of 8 all have rated the accommodation 5 star! Couple groups used the sofa bed and singles groups used the zbeds with 2 or 3 per double room - all loved the space but accepted the lounge with 8-10 will be extremely cosy! That said if you plan pub meals out - snuggle on bean bags to watch the tv and happy to squash in you will be getting great per person value - and you all get to stay in one place! All use of the spa bath and sauna is at the guests own health risk and we assume sensible use of the traditional sauna which is not recommended for anyone with heart problems! We offer discount for repeat bookings and we offer late deals always inquire for the latest deals. Please note that we need to provide written permission before any filming and or on site business use is accepted - but we are open to requests. Happy for guests to pitch tents for guests in the summer months please ask.
