      The Fisherman's Cot nestling on the banks of the River Exe at Bickleigh is one of the most picturesque inns in the South of England.       The SpaceThe house has been restored gently over 10 years and has just been completed. A multileveled tree house of a cottage with two double bedrooms and one single, sleeping 5. All the beds are extremely well made with very good mattresses. Sheets and towels are provided. You will sleep like a baby. There are two living rooms, one downstairs with a low ceiling and wood burning stove, iPod dock/cd player/turntable and a piano. The other living room is upstairs and is equipped with Sky TV (inc Sport & Movies) DVD, double height ceiling and exposed beams. Both have free wifi. A brand new bathroom upstairs has a large bath and shower and also double height celiing. Simply switch on the hot water and shower pump in the bathroom cupboard when you arrive and switch off when you leave. A pretty path from the kitchen leads to a round cottage garden overlooking pastoral fields. Please be aware that that garden is not fully fenced and your dog can escape if so inclined. We have Wifi. The passcode is Sizzlem99. Guest AccessThere is a key safe to allow you to arrive at a time to suit you. You will have access to the whole house, but not the barn outside or the attic which will be unoccupied but locked. Interaction with GuestsWe are happy to answer any questions you may have during your booking but we do not live at the cottage, and use it only for some weekends and holidays. Prior to your arrival, a housekeeper will make your beds, set up the fire for you and wash linen and clean up when you are gone. The NeighborhoodThe village of Oakford is very small and secluded in farmland, but easily accessible from the M5 via Tiverton. The Red Lion pub 3 doors down is refurbished and serves good food and ales. There is also a children's playground and football field. Rolling hills lead to Exmoor National Park where we love to ride out from West Anstey Stables. Nearby Dulverton, South Molton and Bampton offer several good restaurants and shops. For a special occasion there is a michelin star 13th Century pub, The Masons Arms, in the village of Knowstone. Getting AroundYou can park on the road outside the house, or if there is no space, in the churchyard. Tiverton Parkway station, linked by high speed railway to London, Bristol and Birmingham is 25 minutes away by car and there is a taxi service there. The nearest airport is Exeter Airport, followed by Bristol. Other Things to NoteIn the winter keep the wood fire burning and you will be snug. Logs provided. The house is double glazed and insulated. The Kitchen has underfloor heating.

The open moors are also close by and its only 1 mile to Dulverton which is a charming little town with plenty of pubs and restaurants. Space to park 2 cars and a large garden with seating for exclusive use to the guests. I live on the site and am available to answer any questions or give you some pointers on where to go in the surrounding area. In a rural and private location but with the convenience of a town just a mile away. Not very good public transport, would advise coming by car. Wild red deer often in the park above the lodge. Guest AccessYou will have access to the whole of the lodge and its garden and free to walk in the grounds of the estate as long as the privacy of other guests and residents is respected.           Nuthatch at Three Gates Farm is a romantic one bedroomed cottage with pretty four poster bed and ensuite bathroom, sleeping two people, set in the beautiful East Devon countryside, only 15 minutes drive from the M5 (J27). Guests have the use of a large, warm, indoor swimming pool (33 ft), sauna, fitness room, children's play areas, 12 ft trampoline, laundry facilities, enclosed pond area with ducks and friendly chickens and two acres of grounds. The 'Snug' or 'Reading Room' is also exclusively yours. Situated on the ground floor, the Snug is the perfect place to settle and read a book, play a game of cards or scrabble, but if that's too sedate for you and you prefer something a little noisier, the Music room is perfect. With it’s 95 inch cinema screen and projector, you can settle in the two armchairs or sprawl on the bean bags and watch TV or a DVD or play a CD and lose yourself in the surround sound. There is a paved courtyard to the rear of the house with outside table and chairs. The Mill House kitchen is well equipped with all new appliances including fridge, freezer, oven & hob, microwave, dishwasher and washing machine. Other equipment includes toaster, kettle, crockery, cutlery, cookware and a variety of kitchen utensils. A television (with freeview) and DVD player are situated in the sitting room. Wifi is being installed in the near future but is not presently available. A cot and high chair are available, please request these items when booking so we can make sure they are ready for your arrival. Sampford Peverill is a part of the canal walk, the basin starting in Tiverton.
