Nestled into the countryside with the River Dart running through it's centre, it's perfectly situated for days out to Devon's beautiful beaches and is a stone's throw from Dartmoor National Park.The town has two bridges crossing the beautiful River Dart and boat tours are available down the river to Dartmouth. You can even hop on the boat to Dartmouth, ride the ferry across the river to Kingswear, catch a steam train to Paignton, then ride an open top bus back to Totnes.
There are so many South Devon beaches within a short drive of the home with something for everyone - calm coves with rockpools for families as well as places to kayak, sail and some of the best surf spots in the Southwest. A few favourite beaches are Bantham, Mothecombe, South Milton Sands, Beesands, Blackpool Sands and East Portelmouth.
Dartmoor is just a stone's throw away with it array of activities for walkers, hikers, climbers and more. There are numerous trails, bridleways and circular walks on Dartmoor as well as visitor centres, pubs, cafes and attractions.
Children and adults alike will find numerous activities available within Totnes itself and a short drive away. Paignton Zoo, Canoe Adventures, Haldon Forest Park, Greenways (National Trust), the Steam Railway, Crealy Adventure Park, Pennywell Farm, the Devon Guild of Craftsmen, GoApe! and Woodlands - just to mention a few!

There are so many places to visit in the local area, including Berry Head Nature Reserve, Salcombe, Dartmouth, Sharpham Vineyard and Dairy, Start Point Lightouse, the Exe Estuary and more. Getting AroundTotnes train station is a 10 minute walk away and the National Express bus stop is about 8 minutes away by foot. There are buses, trains, ferrys available and the house has parking for two cars on the driveway.
