Interaction with GuestsWe both work nearby so are known to pop in and out periodically during the day or early evening if you have any questions or just want to talk a good yarn but we are generally out the house so you'll have the place to yourself! The NeighborhoodAlthough Gibraltar is the size of a small town, each area has it's own unique atmosphere and vibrancy. Our place is next to Cornwalls Center within Gavinos Passage and the buildings date back to the 1800's although ours is perched on top and built in the 1990's.
In the space of 100 meters square, there are no less than 30 to 40 small businesses trading and the odd global empire being plotted.
Just walk to the end of the lane and soak up the buzz created by a dozen ethnic groups from multiple generations all chattering away in local businesses and cafe's about work, life, and local gossip. Marvel as cars stop as a priority in the middle of the narrow roads to say hi to someone regardless of how many vehicles are waiting to pass.
Gibraltar is a unique place and many people come for a day trip, walk up Main Street, buy a few goodies and head off again which is a shame. It is so much more than that and you need to spend 3 or 4 days here, scratch the surface to get to the mosaic underneath to really experience it. If you catch a glimpse, I guarantee you'll come back for more. Getting AroundBus services are good and Taxi's are readily available within a 2 minute walk at the Piazza or 3 minutes walk away at Casemates Square. If you are driving into Gibraltar, do get in touch first. Free parking is available a 7 minute walk away and we'll happily advise on location and logistics if you want to drop your bags off first and then go park which is highly recommended. If you're flying in, just get a Taxi to Cornwalls Center, but if you insist on saving £6 then you can walk from the airport to the apartment in 15 minutes.
As I think of more I'll put it here to keep it updated, in the meantime, please feel free to get in touch and ask any questions you like.
