Interaction with GuestsSome tips for routes or a day trip that you can arrange from Korinthos: 1) You can visit the next city Loutraki, similar of Korinthos and famous for its casino. There is a bus going there every hour. The bus stop is up to Damaskinou street. The street right of our building, where the cars pass. The ticket cost 1.40 euro. 2) You can visit the Ancient Korinthos and the ruins and acropolis. You can take the bus from the bus stop next to the old train station. Close to our place walking up at Damaskinou street. 3) You have to visit the famous Cannel of Korinthos. If you feel you can walk to there. You have to follow again the Damaskinou street right up, till big square next to the sea and after follow the seaside. If you don't feel to walk you can take the bus going to Loutraki and get off at the Channel of Korinthos, just after Isthmia bus stop. 4) Perfect for one day trip is Nafplio city. It is situated in an hour and a half distance. You can take the bus from the Isthmia bus stop. Till there you can go with the Loutraki bus again. In the city of Nafplio you can walk in the old city area, visit the castle up the hill or take a boat to the small Bourdzi castle in the port. There are two bieaches in Nafplio – one under the castle and the other one on 3lm diatsnce, a hufe sandy beack called Karathona. You need a car to go there or bicycle. There is a walk sarting under the castle but it is too long. 5) Another must destinantion is the Ancient theatre of Epidaurus. To go there you should take a bus agin from the Isthmia bus stop to Ligourio village. The same bus stop from where the buses to Nafplio starts. Please do not get confused, as the ancient theatre of Epidaurus is not situated in the Epidaurus village but in the next village, called Ligourio, a few kilometers after Epidaurus village. Epidaurus village is also a very nice destination and there you can see the small ancient theatre at the end of the port or go for diving to see the ruins of the ancient city, just a few meters under the water, next by the small theatre. 6) Other places you can visit are the old Mycenae city, on the way to Nafplio city and the ancient Nemea. There are buses to there again from the Isthmos bus stop. Other things to do in Korinthos is to walk to the Kalamia beach, the main beach of Korinthos. It will take you like 10-15 min walking from our place. There you can find nice coffee shops and restaurants. Please note that every Saturday there is a big market, next to the big church of Agios Georgios, starting at 9 am till 13 -14h. You can find everything there - fresh fruits and vegetables, fish, clothes etc. Also on our street Periandrou, passing just in front of the building, there are many shops open in the morning selling fresh fruits and vegetables, fish and bread. Please note that they are open only in the morning till 14H. There is a big supermarket VASILOPOULOS in a few minutes from our place. Directions - you get out of the building, follow the street right, first on the left, again first on the right and the supermarket is there. The SpaceThe uniqueness of this apartment is that it is isolated and "nearby" at the same time. You are only 4 Km away from civilization (markets, food, beach, cafeterias, taverns, atm) but still inside an olive and pine trees field, completely serene and calm environment. The pool is special as it has bio filters and non chlorine substances inside, so it fits gently in the whole residency. Maybe we cant provide astonishing sea view, but swimming inside a natural pool, surrounded by olive trees, is a different perception! The apartment is on the bottom floor, while we live above it. It has its own entrance and it is fully functional. It has 3 bedrooms, a well equipped kitchen, sitting and dining area and a spacious bathroom. You can find a separate wc and a bathroom at the pool area too. All rooms have wooden floors, large windows with curtains and include ceiling fans for the summer and radiators for the winter. Except for the 3 bedrooms, there is an additional sofa in the living room which can be used as a single size bed. The kitchen is fully equipped, with a stove, oven, fridge, dishwasher, washing machine and appliances such as a drip coffee maker and boiler. Towels and sheets are provided. There is also internet connection (wifi or with cables) Guest AccessGuests have access to the pool, to the barbeque, to the outside bathrooms, to the plantation fields and all other amenities which are shared only with us. Most of the time though, we will not be around you, as we respect your need to relax! Getting AroundThe house is 90 km from Athens center. It is recommended you rent a car from either Athens, or the airport. Alternatively, you can either take a bus from Athens to the Corinth Canal or a train from the Athens airport or Athens center to Corinth (Athens Suburban Railway, Airport – Athens – Corinth, connection with Athens metro). Then, you will need to take a taxi from the bus or the train station to the village of Drassa. Other Things to NoteThe location of the house is perfect for short daily visits to great places of East Peloponnese, such as the ancient theater of Epidavros. You can visit the theater as a sightseeing or, given the opportunity, to watch the best plays (ancient tragedies) of the season. Geophysically the city is likewise surrounded by the narrow coastal plain of Vocha, Corinthian Gulf, Corinth Canal, the Isthmus of Corinth, Saronic Gulf, Oneia Mountains, and the monolithic rock of Acrocorinth, where the medieval acropolis was built. In 1858, the old city of Corinth (now known as Archaia Korinthos (?????? ????????), located 3 km (1.9 mi) SW of the modern city), was totally destroyed by an earthquake. This led to the establishment of Nea or New Corinth, on the coast of the Gulf of Corinth. New Corinth was rebuilt after a further earthquake in 1928 and again after a great fire in 1933.
