The SpaceOur lodge has handmade adobe bricks as its facade and is a large home with a lot of Guatemalan culture throughout. We have a lot of outdoor living space, a traditional pila (wash area), and a tamascal (wood heated sauna). Guest AccessYou'll have exclusive access to 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and a kitchen/dining/sitting area. There is shared access to large patios, a 3rd story bar and patio, bamboo sitting area, tamascal, and the outdoor areas. Interaction with GuestsI live under the same roof, but in a private section of the home. My wife or I will be available at any time to help or answer any questions. We will serve your breakfast in your kitchen at the time you desire. The NeighborhoodInstead of living in the overcrowded cities of Guatemala, or in the super touristic areas of Antigua or Atitlán we are located in the very heart of Guatemalan culture. High enough in the mountains to avoid the tropical heat, yet nice enough that you rarely need a coat. There is plenty of beauty to go around, and the area is safe enough to walk around alone, even after dark. Getting AroundWe are located just a few hundred meters off the main highway, and there is a bus stop right there. Other Things to NoteWe provide all foreign travelers with a local pre-paid cellphone so they are able to get in touch with us or car rental agencies or emergency services at anytime. We also offer guided tours and Spanish-English translation services.
