The SpaceKodeeri Nature Home is a home-stay, where the guests share three bed rooms with the host, an old couple. The house is 350 years old built in the traditional Kerala style which permits maximum air circulation. We have three non a/c rooms with two beds each and attached bath with running water, shower and western type toilets.There are two common living rooms and open verandah for the use of guests. Services such as internet, phone and laundry are available for additional cost. Guest AccessWe have planted/protected more than about 150 species of medicinal herbs/trees in addition to endemic trees that provide green manure, timber, firewood and fruits. We have also protected a Sacred (Natural) grove which is a breeding ground for all the endemic flora & fauna.
Thanks to the thick and diverse natural vegetation, both the number and species of bird life of the estate has increased many fold. We have identified more than 40 species of endemic species of birds and more than 15 varieties of butterflies. The water logged rice field at the edge of the farmland attract migratory birds as well.
There is also a tree house at the edge of the paddy field where one can blissfully enjoy solitude among swaying palm and mango trees, and relax watching birds and butterflies, read, write and/or meditate.
Food is vegetarian, mostly based on products grown organically, and cooked in traditional Kerala Style. We have no room service. We usually encourage visitors to eat with the family. Sometimes guests eat their lunch on the tree hose
Almost all guests, without any inhibitions, have joined Uma in the kitchen and shared culinary talents. On the dining table, a short lecture on healthy food comes naturally from Uma. Some Ayurvedic formulations which she makes from herbs grown in our farm have worked wonders on them. Interaction with Guestsfor Indians, the guest is not a 'client' but 'God'. You share the entire house and property with the hosts and is treated as a family member, without compromising the privacy of either. Exchanging stories and meeting the local community is a spontaneous process The NeighborhoodThe house is located in a beautiful and serene village setting with unpolluted atmosphere. Walkin in the country sides, meeting the village people and exchanging stories will be memorable experience Getting AroundOne can either walk 10 minutes to take buses to the nearest railway station, Kuttippuram (7 kms) or Tirur (14 Kms) or get an auto -rikshaw or taxi on request. Other Things to NoteWe provide fresh towels, soap and linen, which is changed after two days. Since we live in the same house, we usually encourage visitors to eat with us. We charge Rs.600/person/day for this.We do not permit the guests to either bring or cook their food in the premises.
