Villa Abadi is located on a small hill in the rural traditional Balinese village of Bengkel. The village has a few small local shops (where you can buy fresh eggs and basic provisions), rice and small hold farming and some cottage industries such as clay roof tile manufacturing. The villa is set back over 100m from the road accessible via a private driveway lined by mature trees and vegetation and is surrounded by rice terraces on 3 sides. The rear of the villa is elevated above the surrounding rice terraces, affording spectacular views out over the terraces, river, jungle and mountains in the distance. At the front of the villa there is a pathway that follows a meandering irrigation channel into extensive rice terraces. As the villa is set back so far from the road there is no traffic (unfortunately increasingly rare for accommodation in Bali) - it offers a very peaceful, relaxing and natural environment.
Villa Abadi is not overlooked at all and has amazing views over the rice terraces and jungle on 3 sides. There is private parking and a car and driver can be arranged at a very reasonable cost.
The nearest local beach is 3km away and is a real undiscovered gem. Please look through our photos to see it. The much more lively beaches of Echo Beach (which is very popular with surfers and where you can have surfing lessons as well as enjoying a spa treatment and some good casual food) and Seminyak are about 20 and 25 minutes drive away respectively.
Dining options within 20 minutes of the villa include the Canggu Club, Alila Soori resort (with exclusive 20% discount for Villa Abadi guests), Nirwana Pan Pacific Resort (including Bali's top golf course) as well as an array of local restaurants. Kerobokan has a good selection of cafes, shops and restaurants and a little further afield Seminyak is a major tourist hub with endless restaurants and cafes for you to choose from. Alternatively, pour a glass of wine, relax on the balcony watching the sun go down and let the villa chef create some amazing local and international cuisine! For details of some of our favorite restaurants please visit our Bali guide at www.villaabadi.com.
Given its location it is surrounded by countryside, rice terraces and forest but it also provides easy access to the interior of Bali towards Ubud, less than 20km away, the north coast and the much quieter western part of the island.
