The SpaceTop-floor, TWO-BEDROOM apartment in an Edwardian building right in the heart of Dublin city's old historic centre. It has unique won't-find-anywhere-else views of Dublin Castle and City Hall, two of Dublin's most iconic historic landmarks. The building is on Dame Street in Dublin 2, and is just a couple of minutes (or less) walk from all of Dublin's historic, cultural, social and tourist attractions. The apartment is full of history, tradition and character. It occupies the top floor of an old Edwardian building, located midway along Dame Street, which links Trinity College to Christ Church Cathedral. As well as views over Dublin Castle and Dublin City Hall from the living room and one bedroom, the other bedroom looks west towards Christ Church Cathedral. Where else would you get it? The apartment has been completely renovated in recent years (so has all the modern conveniences you could want, including fast WiFi internet connection, central heating, an electric shower and a fully-fitted kitchen), its original period features have been preserved (including solid oak wood flooring in the living room and bedrooms, granite stone flooring and a wonderful Belfast sink in the kitchen, and large sash windows in every room). It has two bedrooms (one with a double bed, the other with two single beds), a decent-sized living room with a kitchen off and a bathroom. Every room has large sash windows characteristic of the Edwardian era (early 1900s), so the apartment is full of natural light (if you're lucky, sunshine too!) from early in the morning until late in the evening. Everything you might need (bed linen, towels and kitchen items) is provided, as well as a small library of books on Dublin. Free 30Mb Wifi. Guest AccessYou have access to everything and everywhere - it's all yours. Interaction with GuestsI'll meet you when you arrive to say hello, give you keys, show you around the apartment, tell you what's what in the area and answer any questions. After that, if you need anything or have any questions, you can phone or email me. Always available and happy to help! The NeighborhoodHave a glance at a map of Dublin and you'll see that Dame Street is right in the centre of everything that Dublin has to offer. Trinity College is at one end of Dame Street (3 minute walk from the apartment) and Christ Church Cathedral is at the other (2 minute walk in the other direction). On one side is Dublin Castle and City Hall, and on the other is Temple Bar. All other notable parts of the city – such as Grafton Street area, St Stephens Green, Merrion Square, O'Connell Street – are within a 10-15 minute walk. As well as being immersed in Dublin's history and culture, you're surrounded by the best cafes, restaurants, pubs and shopping in Dublin. Getting AroundOne of the things that previous guests have all remarked on is that they didn't need to use public transport at all - no buses, no trains, no taxis. Very genuinely, you can walk anywhere in the city centre within a matter of minutes. Dublin City is quite literally on your doorstep! However, if you want to travel further afield, there are 3 taxi ranks on Dame Street itself (mere seconds away); there's a Dublin Bikes station across the street; dozens of bus routes within 50 metres; Jervis LUAS (tram) station is 5 minutes walk, and Stephen's Green LUAS (tram) station is 8 minutes walk; and Tara Street and Pearse Street DART (train) stations are both less than 10 minutes walk. If you're looking to travel out of Dublin, you can be in Connolly Station, Heuston Station or Busaras within 10-15 minutes. It's also a 2 minute walk from the Aircoach's Trinity College/College Green stop (Aircoach is an express airport-to-city bus service, which runs every 10 minutes and will get you to or from the airport in just 20 minutes). Other Things to NoteStandard check-in is at any arranged time between 3pm and 9pm. Because I can't personally do a check-in after 9pm, check-ins after 9pm are subject to a €50 fee to cover the cost of paying someone to meet you. Standard check-out is before 10am on the day of departure. If you're arriving into Dublin very early in the morning or departing late in the day, please consider the 3pm check-in time/10am check-out time before booking. Unfortunately, there is no luggage storage facility in the building. For those who need to store luggage before check-in or after check-out, I recommend Tourist Office Dublin (almost directly opp. the Front Gate of Trinity College Dublin at 37 College Green, Dublin 2, which is a 2 minute walk from the apartment). They'll store luggage here in a secure lock-up for a small fee. Please also consider that this apartment is in the very heart of Dublin City. Genuinely, its location can't be exaggerated - you won't find a better located listing on Airbnb. There are hundreds of positives to this, but there a couple of negatives too: for one, there is no parking in the building (but if you're likely to need parking, let me know and I'll tell you the various options). Also, you have to expect that such a central location won't be exactly tranquil - there'll be the usual 'sounds of the city' and there's nothing anyone can do about it, I'm afraid! If this is likely to be an issue for you, let's talk about it before you book.

Also, Robbie and Jimmy are the absolute Fonts of All Knowledge on the subjects of places to see and things to do in Dublin, and are happy to offer the best advice and suggestions, specifically tailored to your requirements. Several guests have even remarked that it's like having your own personal tour guides, for a similar cost to public transport. It's also a short walk to the bus stop, and there is a taxi stand just outside the complex, with friendly taxi drivers waiting to whiz you to wherever your heart desires. Unless you want to rob a bank. They don't like that. Other Things to NoteCheck in - Usually after 14:00 Check out - 10:30 am It's about 15 minutes by cab and a cab should cost between 23-29 Euro depending on traffic. There is also a bus which stops about a 7 minute walk away from apartment - route 702 aircoach to Greystones. You get off at the Maldron hotel. (URL HIDDEN) Additional info - The dishwasher - there are soap tablets under the sink. Inside the machine, the latch on the box that pops open with the tablets doesn't close properly, so instead just place a soap tablet on the floor of the dishwasher and it will work fine. To turn the dishwasher on, press the big white button on the left (buttons are on top of door when you open the washer). then click the black button to choose temperature. I use Eco setting which works fine. Then just shut the door and it turns on. Radiator/hot water - the apartment is heated with radiators. The hot water and radiators come from same boiler, which is controlled in the maintenance room. There is a timer there with three settings - On, timer, Off. It should be set on timer. I have it set to come on twice a day - morning and night so that there is hot water. If this is not enough, push the pins towards the center of the timer to add more time (make sure that the time is set correctly). If you don't want the radiators on, you can turn the knob on the radiator and switch off Washing machine - nothing special about this. email me if you need help. There is an iron near the boiler and an ironing board in the maintenance room WiFi code - is on the router in the lounge. use caps lock YUXKQTFO Cooker and electric stove - need to switch red switch on the wall to the left of stove. please remember to switch off when done. The SpaceThe house is unique. It is on 3 levels with the bed on a mezzanine on the top floor. all the spaces run together without rooms as such to maximise the feeling of openness and light. Guest AccessThe guests have exclusive access to the entire house...but as there is one double bed it really only suits 2 people...who are getting on.... Interaction with GuestsAs much as they want. I imagine that some want to be shown the house and left in peace...and others would like a tour of the area...or to have things explained about Dublin etc. which I enjoy doing...But the house is let as an entity so as soon as they are settled I let them get on with it The NeighborhoodThe house is in a part of town that has undergone extensive renewal. The house is in a small section of streets that were originally workers houses. The house is literally around the corner from (website hidden) and AirBNB. The area is often referred to as Silicon Docks.... Getting AroundThere is a Train Station around the corner at Grand Canal Dock. Two Dublin Bike Stations around also around the corner as are Go Car stations and Buses and a Taxi rank. The Luas tram system is 1.3km away at the O2. There is paid on street parking...I can get parking discs if guest let me know in advance Other Things to NoteThe house is not suitable for children and the stairs are suitable for use by abled bodied persons only... I have compiled a guide to the house and its environs which is more extensive than this section allows. I email it to all guests in advance I enjoy having people stay in the house but I can only make it work if people stay a minimum of two nights, and a minimum of one week is someone wants to stay over Christmas. Generally I am easy going with Check ins and Check outs but I do need some notice as I work full time and have to make arrangements to let people in.
