I live with my wife and twenty year old daughter in the sea side town of Bray Co. Wicklow, Ireland. My house is approximately two minutes walk to the beach and promenade. The train and bus station are situated close by and easily accessible as is the town and shopping centre. It is no exaggeration to state that Bray is the gateway to the garden of Ireland of which the county of Wicklow is internationally famous. The house has a spare sitting room which is available to the guest . I conduct a lot of walks and visits throughout Dublin and Wicklow and have bicycles available for short cycling tours e.t.c. Interested in receiving one to one tutoring in learning English and arranging meals and other activities as part of your stay? I will contact you directly (after you have booked your accommodation online through Homestay.com) to work out a program schedule that will work for us both. I am an experienced registered teacher.

The choice and variety of places to visit in the area and further afield on day trips is vast and is of course entirely yours. The NeighborhoodOur period home is located in a quiet neighbourhood at the base of Killiney Hill. This is in the historic area of Killiney with it's many period houses. It is near to the splendid Killiney Bay with its blue flag beach that will suit hardy swimmers, but for the less intrepid it is still a wonderful place to go for a seaside stroll. For more details see; (URL HIDDEN) The historic Heritage Town of Dalkey is nearby. With it's numerous restaurants and bars and added to it's literary past it is a place well worth a visit-from our home as it is just a short one stop hop away on the DART. For the more strenuous guests a lengthy walk to Dalkey could take in Killiney Hill and it's obelisk together with the spectacular 360deg panoramic views that this location provides -this includes views of: Killiney Bay from Dalkey to Bray Head( that has been rightly likened to Sorrento in Italy), to Bray Head and the Sugarloaf Mountains in County Wicklow and to Dublin Bay and Dublin City. The Dublin & Wicklow Mountains including Glendalough are readily accessible by car, or again for the more strenuous guests these may be accessed by bicycle-we ourselves are keen cyclists and hikers and can advise on many routes of varying degrees of difficulty. Cyclists and their bicycles are most welcome to our home.. Getting AroundKilliney Station is a 10-12 minute walk away and provides the regular DART rail link to Dalkey-1 stop), Dun Laoghaire-4 stops, Dublin City and Howth to the North or South to Bray-2 stops and Greystones-3stops. Just a little further along the coast are the stunning views from Vico Road: be sure to find the 'gap in the wall' that leads you right down to more diving/swimming areas. Recently, a colony of dolphins have settled in this bay and can often be seen putting on an incredible display, leaping and somersaulting right in front of you! Even better views can be had from the higher vantage points on the magnificent walk around Killiney Hill which overlooks the Vico Road and the entire bay. This walk is not to be missed. You also have easy access to Glasthule village. There you will find shops, restaurants and bars catering for all tastes, and you never know, you might end up sitting besides Bono or Chris De Burgh in the famous Caviston's delicatessen and seafood restaurant! Getting AroundThe house is minutes away from the N11 and the M50 which gives you a direct and easy run to Greystones and the beautiful hilly town of Enniskerry, home to the famous Powerscourt House and Gardens/Visitor Centre and gateway to Wicklow (the garden of Ireland). There is a bus service direct to the city centre and Dun Laoghaire almost directly outside my door. The DART (city train) runs from Dun Laoghaire into the city centre or south to Glasthule, Dalkey, Killiney and Greystones. Other Things to NoteThis property is not suitable for young children.
