The SpaceConveniently located accommodation, everything Dingle has to offer right outside the front door! It is a Victorian house with a shop on the bottom floor. Once selling whiskey and food in days gone by it now houses Shimmerling, Dingle,s fairy shop. Once you step out of the door you literally have the best restaurant and the best pubs right next door. And the beautiful harbour and tourist office is only a five minute walk away. No need for taxis. Rent a bike is available two doors down from the house and St. James Church which is around the corner has traditional concerts most nights. The best Irish whiskey pub in Ireland "Dick Macs" on Green Street is only a minute away. If you fancy a nice meal the top two restaurants in Dingle are across the road. The house is old but tastefully decorated. Although I have done my utmost at providing you with a comfortable bed and room unfortunately I cant control the fun people at night outside on busy weekends. There are fabulous walks and horse riding closeby Guest AccessRoom only with no access to kitchen. Shared Bathroom Interaction with Guestsavailable to meet and greet guests The NeighborhoodGreen Street leads onto Main Street where the bank and post office is and at the other end leads down onto the harbour. The beautiful St. Marys church is on Green Street and right beside it is the Diseart (old convent and nuns garden). There are many beautiful and interesting shops on Green Street, weavers, jewellers, great art galleries and even a fairy shop. It is a busy street and at night gets very very busy so if you want to get an early night it might not be the best location for you! Getting AroundOf course the best way to see Ireland is to hire a car...public transport is a bit slow however it can be very enjoyable and I use it quite abit myself. The bus stop is only a 10 minute walk up hill. Other Things to NoteThis is an old house so expect some wear and tear. There are wooden floor boards, old windows, not double glazed!

Interaction with GuestsProperty manager lives in Cois Chnoic also, just a couple of doors away. The NeighborhoodDingle is a great destination for family holidays. In addition to the fantastic sandy beaches nearby at Inch and Ventry, Dingle Ocean World is an excellent aquarium and there are a number of sea safaris on offer in the area. You can visit Dingle's most famous inhabitant Fungie the Dolphin, charter a boat to the stunning Blasket Islands (Dingle Bay Charters) or Skellig Adventures who can take you to the amazing island (Skelling Michael) where the final scene of Star Wars The Force Awakens was recently shot, and Luke Skywalker was discovered!! Dingle is also a great base from which to tour the ‘Kingdom of Kerry' being within easy reach of the Ring of Kerry, Killarney Lakes, and Killarney itself. The famous Dingle Brewery is a 5min walk from the house, and the Dingle Distillery (which produces it's own Whiskey, Vodka and Gin) is also only 2km away and does daily tours (incl. tastings) at 2 and 4pm. Cois Chnoic is a development that was built in 2005 and as such all of the homes were built to a very high standard and are extremely modern. Majority of the homes are permanently occupied by local families, hence this is NOT a party house, as there are many children and families living nearby. As a result there is a real community feel to the estate, and while it is secluded in the beautiful Dingle countryside, it is still only a 10-min walk from the town of Dingle and all the best bars and restaurants. Dingle is famous for having some of the most authentic Irish bars in the country, and is the only place in Ireland where you can find live traditional music seven days a week in at least one of the local pubs! Dingle was also recently (June 2014) awarded the "Best Foodie Town in Ireland" Award for having some of the very best restaurants and cuisine in Ireland. You will also be only a 10-15 minute drive from some of the most amazing landscape (e.g. the famous Conor Pass) and beaches you will find anywhere in the world! Getting AroundThe best thing about Cois Chnoic is that it is only a 15-minute walk or a 3-minute taxi ride from the main town of dingle and all the best bars, restaurants and attractions. Other Things to NoteThis property has just been completely refurbished in June 2014 i.e. has just been completely painted (inside and outside), new carpet laid throughout the stairs, landing and all bedrooms, and new appliances purchased for the kitchen. Master bedroom has also just received a brand new queen-size bed.

The SpaceBuilt in 1999, this beautiful house was architecturally designed to the specifications of a contemporary irish musician so this open-plan style luxury home has been no stranger to manys a night of music and singing. The house is primarily used as a family holiday home however it has also been used recently as a retreat/recording studio for some aspiring irish artists due to it's wonderful acoustics and the inspiring tranquil surroundings. The house has four bedrooms; three doubles and one twin; two upstairs and two downstairs. The master bedroom adjoins to the upstairs bathroom and boasts a balcony that looks out on the property's rear view of Mount Brandon. Downstairs the galley kitchen and open plan living/dining area is centred around the beautiful stone built fire place that mirrors the stone work on the house exterior and keeps this large room cosy on chilly evenings. The upright Yamaha piano is yours to play during your stay whether you're a maestro or a novice. The marble floored reception area joins the downstairs bedrooms, bathroom and utilitiy room and to the main living area is the newly built sun room; a cosy area with sofa and coffee table surrounded by a glass wall built specifically to enjoy the views of the three sisters while enjoying a morning coffee. Upstairs the open plan games room is fitted out with fuzz-ball table, wide screen tv, bean bags, wrap around couch, board games, DVD's and a pullout couch so it is ideal for big families with children. The house can accommodate up to 10 guests with the use of the pullout couch. However there are guesthouses close by that can accomodate extra guests if there is an overflow. The house is located on an undulating slope on two acres of land surrounded by seasonal shrubbery and an extensive lawn. The property is privately bounded by hedges, trees and old stone walls. The decking area is ideal for BBQ's on long summer evenings and the raised hot tub along side means the spectacular view is maintained while relaxing in jacuzzi bubbles. It is also recommended that the hot tub be used with the lights off on a clear night as the stars in the sky above are a sight to behold. Guest AccessThe entrance to the grounds has a wooden gate that leads to a winding gravel stoned driveway bounded by old railway sleepers. There is parking available outside for up to three cars. There is also access in and out from the rear of the house through the glass patio doors. Interaction with GuestsI can be contacted by phone, text or email at any time and I welcome any queries guests or potential guests may have. The NeighborhoodThe Dingle Peninsula can be reasonably considered as one of the most naturally beautiful places on earth. A finger of land stretching west, it features the Slieve Mish mountain range that forms its spine. Reaching 3123 feet above sea level rises Mount Brandon, the second highest mountain in Ireland. Falling sharply down to rolling green hills and farmland you will find our house nestled at the foot but still raised enough to view the spectacular scenery of the quaint villages, steep sea cliffs of the "Three Sisters" and the wild Atlantic beyond. Centred on charming Dingle town, there's an alternative way of life here, lived by artisans and idiosyncratic characters and found at trad sessions and folkloric festivals across Dingle's tiny settlements. Dingle is the musical home of the "Mighty Session" and whether you're a first-time or regular visitor, you can't help but notice the wealth of musical talent around town. The buzzing atmosphere in Dingle Town on a summer evening cannot be equalled. The classic loop drive around Slea Head from Dingle town is 50km, but allow a day to take it all in. The main road to Dingle town is the N86 via Tralee but the coast road is far more beautiful and shouldn't be missed. The remote wild beauty of Dingle has been a compelling feature in such Hollywood films as Ryan’s Daughter and Far and Away. Getting AroundThe house is located 6 miles from the town of Dingle. It is recommended that the guests rent a car or avail of the local taxi service as the bus to and from the town is not very frequent. There are various bike rental shops dispersed around the town also. A car or a bike is essential to experience the various beaches, piers, valleys, cliffs and coastal views of the Dingle Peninsula and Slea Head. Other Things to NoteHaving spent most of my of summers in Dingle I have some recommendations for guests: There is a local pub and guesthouse, An Bothar, just a ten minute walk away which provides wonderful food and is a great spot for a pint of "the black stuff", Guinness! It has a nice welcoming open fire and is a central meeting point for hill walkers from all over the world. If you walk past the pub for another ten minutes you will come across the isolated picturesque Brandon Creek (Cuas). Here there is an old pier and it's also where a river estuary flows from Mount Brandon and meets the Atlantic. This creek is reputed to be the place from where Saint Brendan set sail across the Atlantic Ocean to discover North America in the 6th Century. This journey was simulated in 1976 by Tim Severin when he also set sail from Brandon Creek in a similar leather skinned vessel to prove that the feat was possible. He completed his sailing to land in Newfoundland. If golf is of interest I cannot recommend a more scenic links course than Ceann Sibeal. It is just a 20 minute drive and is open to the public at surprisingly reasonable rates (clubs are easily available to rent). There is also a Pitch n Putt course in Dingle town if you fancy sharpening up that short game at any time. Dingle is abuzz with great pubs and restaurants. If you're looking for a more upmarket meal try the Chart House, Global Village or Out of The Blue. If you're looking for a session try Dick Mac's, An Driochead or Currans. The Dingle Way is a well known walking trail and begins in Tralee and circles the peninsula, covering 153km (95 miles) of gorgeous mountain and coastal landscape. The most rugged section is along Brandon Head, where the trail passes between Mount Brandon and the ocean. The views are tremendous, but the walk is long (about 24km/15 miles, averaging 9 hr.) and strenuous, and should be attempted only by experienced walkers and in good weather. However there are also many shorter walk in the area and there is a book with information on these in the house. There are so many more activities such as fishing, horse riding, surfing, visiting the aquarium, sailing and cycling. I would also highly recommend a tour of the Blasket Islands and don't forget to ask about Fungi the Dolphin!

The SpaceNestled into the hillside next to the ancient church at Kilmalkedar, Atlantic Cottage looks out over Smerwick Harbour and the Atlantic to The Sleeping Giant, one of the Blasket Islands. Sitting in the cosy kitchen you can watch 50 foot waves rolling in from America battering the cliffs. The beach is a 15 minute walk and if on a hot sunny day there are more than 20 people, we'd consider it crowded. The Pilgrim's Way runs up behind the house allowing you to climb the mountain and look out over 360 degree views. The area has been a centre for calm, spiritual retreat for hundreds of years and we look forward to inviting you enjoy the peace and tranquility of the area. Watching the sheep being brought down from the hill side, the odd chicken that wanders in to the garden. The wrens and robins that nest in the fuchia hedges. Fabulous neighbours and the Irish craic. Getting AroundThere is no public transport but hitching is easy and safe . Other Things to NoteThis house is in the country and probably not suitable for anyone with an animal allergy. It is very dark at night as there is no street lighting - hurrah you can see the stars in the Milky Way. If you want to take taxi - most of the local drivers know The Nest - it's about 8 euros to town. We run regular writing retreats at The Nest and lots of photographers and artists use it as a working hide away. We even have our own serial story going to which you are welcome to contribute. There is wifi but the signal can be intermittent at times. We are moving to a new provider as soon as our current contract is finished in July. We are not liable for broadband speed or outages. This is the Irish countryside and weather plays a part. We are pet friendly. It's just The Nest and somewhere to think, muse and restore your soul. As the Irish would say 'A thin place'. Guest AccessYou will have the whole appartment to yourselves. Interaction with GuestsWe travel between Dingle and England. We are happy to share our extensive knowledge of the area with guests and can point out to them some of the hidden secrets of the area. Sometimes even our friends born and brought up in Dingle don't know about them! The NeighborhoodWe love early mornings down at the lagoon watching the bird life. The changing light on Mount Brandon enchants us as the sun is setting. Getting AroundThe Nest has it's own parking. There is no public transport to The Nest but town is less than 2 miles away so walkable or a quick taxi.

The SpaceA. tardis of a house with a delightful south-facing deck within walking distance of the magical Birnham Lagoon and woods. Two miles from the centre of Dingle Town, Heron's Reach lets you enjoy the amenities of the town combined with the quiet of the countryside. The front of the house has views over Mount Brandon and at the back of the house, nosy cows look over the fence. There are four bedrooms, each offering slightly different features. There is one en-suite double room, a twin room with open fire, a queen size with washbasin and access to south facing decking. Upstairs there is a large family room. There is a large living room with a tv but our experience tells us that most of our guests like to spend the evening talking, often over a glass of wine or bowl of ice cream. For those who prefer to cook for themselves there is a well-equipt kitchen with a dishwasher. We have wifi but cannot be held responsible for any problems caused by our suppliers. How to sum up Dingle. Most people use the word 'magic'. Within 20 minutes there is hill walking, swimming, golf, restaurants (our favourite at the moment is The Global Village), shopping, canoeing, traditional music and best of all, peace and quiet. Watch the sun rising over the lagoon listening to the cries of oyster catchers and enter another world. The house has plenty of parking and storage space for bikes, canoe, etc. It is fully equipped and also has wifi. We accept well behaved dogs by arrangement. Town is a 30 minute walk and 8 euro taxi ride home after an evening enjoying the pubs of Dingle. There is no public transport but hitching is easy and pretty safe. Run by award winning writers, Louise and Chris this house has been the inspiration for many artists who want time to think and work. Writing tution, mentoring and appraisal by separate arrangement. Come with an idea, go home with a masterpiece. Guest AccessGuests are welcome to use the kitchen, living room, shared bathroom. Guests should be aware that unless they have made a whole house booking, that at such a popular house there may be others at the property. If you want something self-contained please see our one bedroom property, The Nest on Airbnb. For groups of 6 or more you will need to make a whole house booking. We reserve the right to charge higher prices for bank holidays and special events. Interaction with GuestsWe move between England and Ireland and if we are away guests are looked after by our house keeper, Linda. We are writers and may have projects to complete during your stay, we are not being rude if we chose to stay in our room, just getting on with work even though we woud prefer to be doing something else. Other Things to NoteWe are unable to cater for special diets. If there is something you especially need for your breakfast please bring it with you.

The SpaceThe studio has a lovely view from the kitchenette table of the sea and out to Skellig Michael. There is a king size comfortable bed and there are steep loft stairs to two single beds. No small children please. Guest AccessGuests have their own private entry and use of the patio with table and chairs. Things to do right from Beenbawn Cottage; Stroll 3 minutes to beautiful Beenbawn Strand at the cove where “Fungie,” our resident dolphin, frolics daily. Howls of delight from Fungie watchers on boats will alert you to his activities. Have a swim in the clear cool water or borrow some fishing tackle and try your hand at catching dinner. A 30-meter pre-Christian ringfort is about a five-minute walk from the cottage off the boreen to Doonsean (Dún Síon). This national historic site has Ogham writing on lapidated oval stones from the storm beach at Minard. I will give you more historical information and directions once you are here. Pack a picnic lunch and wander up to the top of Beenbawn head. Walk safely along the cliffs to the stone cairn at the peak for breath-taking views of Dingle Bay and passing fishing and sail boats. You can see across to the Beara Peninsula, Skellig Michael, and Valentia Island where the first transatlantic cable linked Europe to America. To the west is Eask Tower marking the entrance to Dingle Harbour. Interaction with GuestsI live on site in the attached bungalow. I am available for any visitor information that you may require and have many suggestions for interesting off the beaten path adventures. Beenbawn is so beautiful I want to share it. I have a horse drawn carriage business that guests can get a discount on when you book. The NeighborhoodBeenbawn is a quaint hamlet of 19 farmhouses a mile from Dingle. You can walk to town along the seaside by the lighthouse, or take the fuscia-lined boreen (road) past the track of the annual Dingle Races and then the main road until you come to town. We are a cluster of family homes by the sea with horses, dairy cows, and sheep on the hillside. Getting AroundTaxis are readily available for €7 to get into town. It is only one and a half miles and the drive time is under 5 minutes. There are national buses that service Dingle with connections to other towns. The village is very walkable with numerous shops, pubs and interesting places to visit. Other Things to NoteI have a friendly dog and one outside cat. I'm open to people bringing their dog on holiday as long as it is kept on lead if it chases cats or livestock. If you leave the dog in the studio while you go out no barkers please. I have a horse that I occasionally keep next to the house if I'm going to ride or drive her the next day. Please don't feed her without asking. You can get a discount with the horse drawn carriage business I own. The horse and carriage is in the driveway sometimes.
