The SpaceThis newly renovated accommodation is on the ground floor of our three story home. The building has great historical significance as it was The Old Post Office house for many years until the 1980's.
You will have sole, private use of the ground floor.
Access through the double French doors into a full size kitchen. Leading through from the kitchen, the living room is a comfortable space for sitting, relaxing and watching TV or reading. The large leather sofa does convert into a double sofa bed.
The dining room offers a pleasant area to enjoy a meal or play one of the many board games within the apartment.
The bedroom contains a double bed, TV on the wall, wardrobe with box storage, laundry basket and a hairdryer. There is a door leading to a small decked area outside and you can gain access to the apartment through this door.
The TV comes with Netflix and built in Wifi.
The newly designed shower room is tiled throughout with a Thermostatic Mixer Shower, illuminated medicine cabinet and of course, toilet.
Shampoo, conditioner, soap, shower gel, BRAND NEW wash scrunchies along with additional 'essential items' will be provided. Clean towels, bedding, spare bedding and pillows will be readily available.
There is Wifi throughout the apartment, a collection of board games and puzzles, tourist information leaflets, maps, books and a useful information guide. Local transport information, including buses, Manx Electric Railway and the Steam Railway, is readily available.
The apartment can sleep 4 people; 2 in the bedroom and 2 on the sofa bed in the living room. HOWEVER please be aware that, despite being very good quality, a sofa bed will only provide a limited degree of comfort and is not comparable to a traditional bed. This would ideally suit 2 children or 1 adult. Guest AccessYou will have private, sole use of the garden. The pathways, garden area and throughout the ground floor have been designed with mobility issues in mind. Parking beside the property. There is a table and chairs, as well as ground level lighting and power points. Smoking IS permitted, but in the garden only. Interaction with GuestsWe are three adults living in the two top floors of the property with 1 little dogs and 1 cat. Neither ourselves nor the pets will access the ground floor accommodation during your stay, however we do need to walk through part of the garden path to enter our doorway and gain access the upper floors.
We are quiet and will be extremely conscientious of guests staying below, however it is realistic to expect you will hear some footsteps and little paws above. Please be aware of this; we do keep our noise and activity to a minimum. The NeighborhoodWe are literally around the corner from beautiful Laxey Harbour and 60 seconds walk from the spectacular Laxey beach. Timetables showing low tide will be provided so you can enjoy the full scope of the beach. During the summer there is a lovely little promenade kiosk cafe - alternatively you can use the coffee maker and take a lovely walk with one of our travel mugs.
The Shore Hotel Pub is diagonally across the road from the property with an Italian restaurant just on the other side of the river. Information will be provided on the several cafes and all convenience store, chemist, petrol station and post office facilities around the village.

During the summer months, a small bus circulates through the village, stopping at all the key places such as the famous Laxey Wheel, the Woollen Mills and of course, the fabulous beach; very handy for just 60p.
