Take a walk to Scarlett and see the Visitor Centre. Scarlett is an area with strong evidence of volcanic activity. This unique landscape is home for an abundance of wildlife and plants. The local swimming pool is 2 minutes walk from the cottage.

Only 8 minutes stroll from the centre of the Isle of Mans historic capital, Castletown. Situated in the south of the Isle of Man Castletown is ideally located for exploring the Island. Well served by public transport you will find buses to connect with all parts of the Island and also a train station where you can catch the Steam Locomotive to Douglas. In Castletown don't miss the opportunity to visit Castle Rushen, originally built in 1265, it is now one of Europes most preserved Medieval castles. The fascinating Old House of Keys building, an important part of Manx history and heritage where modern democracy on the Island began.The Old Grammar School. Built around 1200AD was the first church that grew up for the settlement around Castle Rushen and latterly was a school for boys. Scarlett Visitor Centre. Outstanding coastal scenery, spectacular rock formations and wildlife make this an interesting place to visit. The Nautical Museum. Home to one of the worlds oldest yachts, The Peggy. Her eccentric owner and designer was the late Captain George Quayle.
