The two comfortably furnished bedrooms are upstairs. The larger room has a king size bed and room for a single. The second bedroom can be a twin or double. Downstairs in the lounge, one of the sofas can be made up into a sofa bed. The modern bathroom upstairs has a half bath and shower attachment, washbasin, wc, bidet. The kitchen has a full size electric oven, gas hob, fridge freezer, microwave, kettle, toaster, dish washer, mixer/blender, table and chairs and herbs outside the window! There is a washing machine, iron and ironing board, ski/walking boot store. The spacious comfortable living room has two sofas and dining table and chairs. There is a fireplace with wood burning stove and patio door. The digital TV has satellite channels for TV and radio plus video and DVD players with films. Guides and reading books. There is wifi connection. There is an extra room which can be added to the rental for a small extra charge. The two bedroomed house and apartment are perfectly situated in the heart of the Italian Alps with wonderful walks, wildlife, views and easy access to the three highest mountains in Europe or the Italian Lakes. A traditional farming hamlet on a quiet country road with walks right from the door and just a 10 minute drive to bars and excellent resaurants, photographers, skiers and walkers have all loved their stay. It is in a great position to access the shores of Lake Maggiore, take the cable car to the top of Mont Blanc or visit the roman remains and ducal castles of the valley. The local vineyards provide excellent wines to accompany the delicious food served in the nearby restaurants and wine cellars can be visited. There is horse riding, climbing, white water rafting, mountain biking and adventure parks for the children, summer skiing in nearby Cervinia in August and winter skiing in Courmayeur, La Thuile, Champoluc. Pila. During the summer you can drive over mountain passes into France and Switzerland and in the winter you can ski them. This traditional house has a wonderful terrace and garden with barbeque, patio chairs and tables with spectacular views over the Aosta Valley and the Grand Paradiso National Park. The comfortable lounge with patio doors has plenty of seating and satellite television with dvd player and a library of books and films, wifi and a dining table for six. The fully equipped kitchen has a fridge freezer, electric oven with gas hob, microwave, kettle and toaster. There is a half bath with shower attachment basin and wc. The master bedroom has a super king sized bed, plenty of wardrobe space and wonderful views. The second bedroom can be made up with either twin or double bed. Durin the summer months there is a connecting room which can be rented at a small extra charge. The garden has fruit trees, herbs and vegetables. Le Grand Hoel is located on a hillside at 947m above sea level en route to the Monterosa which is the second highest mountain in Europe. It is 30 minutes from Aosta Town and an hour from Turin and less than two hours from Milan and Lake Maggiore. In view of the numerous places to visit it is better to have a car and there is off road parking for both properties. Shops, bars and restaurants are ten minutes drive away and in true Italian tradition, the food and wines are excellent. The wines, such as Nebbiolo and Petite Arvine are wonderful and you can walk through the vineyards locally. There are walks from the door taking you on well marked paths and mule tracks through woods and along streams and waterfalls. There are many great picnic areas. In high season the cable cars open which give you the opportunity of views from over 3000 metres. In particular the new Skyway to to the top of Mont Blanc is now open. There is also, horse riding, white water rafting, parapenting. A short drive away is an open air swimming pool. The Aosta Valley is steeped in history, surrounded by the Swiss and French Alps .It is possible to drive over the borders for lunch. Castles dot the valley and most of these are open to visitors. The Roman remains are visible in Aosta and in many of the villages. The Pont d'Ail on the road to Cogne is worth a visit. It is the perfect holiday destination to avoid the crowds. It is possible to enjoy the genuine face of Italy. Night life is a good meal and an evening stroll but there are local village festivals to celebrate the harvests of grapes,and apples, local honey, wood carving etc. Aosta and St Vincent has a series of concerts during the summer. It is suitable for all ages and my guests return year after year, some of them for eight visits.
