The SpaceWe welcome you to join us to experience a relaxed and authentic Japanese lifestyle in our traditional home located just 20 minutes from downtown Kyoto.
We offer guests a private bedroom with a double tatami bed, a fold out couch and an additional single bed. Linens, bath amenities and fresh towels are supplied for your convenience.
Guests are treated with complimentary breakfast items such as coffee, tea, toast and condiments in a 'self serve' setting.
Guests have access to share our kitchen, tatami living/dinning room, bathroom with a special Japanese tub, laundry as well as access to our bicycles we invite our guests to use to explore nearby temples, towns/villages, bamboo forests as well as local shopping.
Our home is easily accessible via public transit. Special pick up arrangements can also be made for a nominal fee.
On weekends, we offer our guests to experience traditional healthy and wholesome Japanese cuisine such as Takikomigohan (rice dish) complimented with Japanese condiments and Miso Soup. Feel free to inquire about booking your traditional Japanese Breakfast Experience. You can also cook with us. Available upon request for a nominal fee.
Within a 5 minute walk is a popular local Onsen, Japanese Hot Spring.
This traditional Japanese Hot Spring Bath will leave you feeling relaxed and rejuvenated after a day of cycling, touring or hiking.
Arashiyama, a designated UNESCO World Heritage Site with amazing gardens, beautiful rivers and mountains is located a 15 minute bicycle ride from our home.
We enjoy showing our guests the best of Kyoto and the best of Japanese cuisine, culture and local shopping experiences.

Guests are welcome to share our home with us and have access to share our kitchen, tatami living and dining room (until 11 p.m. at the latest), laundry, bathroom, bicycles and the rest of the common areas. Interaction with GuestsWe are always available to help guests.
My father, Ryoji is retired and spends quality time with our friendly Shiba Inu dog named Coocha.
My mother, Yoko works during the day and enjoy spending time and being helpful to guests during the evenings and on weekends.
I am always available via email, phone and when I am not working. I enjoy accompanying visitors and recommending best places to visit.
Guests are welcome to join us or we can leave guests to explore on their own. The NeighborhoodMy neighborhood is only a 20 minute bike ride from Arashiyama, a UNESCO World Heritage Site with gorgeous vistas, a famed bridge, forests, rivers, gardens, temples and beautiful hiking trails.
You can visit a nearby hotel with a Hot Spring and experience traditional Japanese Hot Bath.
Grocery stores is within a 5 minute walk from my home as are Bamboo Forests. Getting AroundOur home is accessible via the JR or Hankyu Rail Lines. Walking from the train station is approximately 10 minutes.

Bicycling around Kyoto is safe and popular. Guests are welcome to use our bicycles to tour around Kyoto. Please inquire about best places to visit, eat and shop. Other Things to NoteOur Shiba Inu, Coocha is super friendly and quiet.
We also have an African Rhino Beetle (super cool).
