The SpaceThe house itself is a newly completed home with a modern kitchen and all of the rooms are finished to a very high standard for Malawi.
Beautifully finished double room with a king size bed, covered with a white box mosquito net which has two entrance ways. The room overlooks the front garden and has side tables, a wardrobe, mirror and an arm chair. There is a fan and we always provide mosquito repellent and insect spray. The room has an ensuite shower room with a toilet and sink.
We are happy to also provide a travel cot and mosquito net if required.
We do also have another guest room, which is not ensuite but has its own private bathroom which can be made available if required. Guest AccessYou will be welcome to use all of the communal areas of our home which include a spacious sitting room, dining room and modern kitchen. Please feel free to self cater. You can also relax on our veranda and in the garden.
We provide bottled water in a 25L water dispenser in the dining room.
If you have a baby you are welcome to use our sterilizer, travel cot, baby bath, bouncy chair and high chair. Interaction with GuestsWe would love to help you have a pleasant stay in Malawi so if there is anything we can do to help make your stay more comfortable please let us know. The NeighborhoodWe like that our neighbourhood is convenient for all areas of town by its proximity to Victoria Avenue, Mahatma Ghandi Road through which the highway to Limbe is easily accessed. It is also walking distance to Queen Elizabeth Central Hosptial and CURE hospital and Mandala which houses La Caverna cafe.
We feel very safe here and lucky to of found this lovely house which we enjoy sharing with our guests. Getting AroundYou are welcome to park your car within our brick fenced compound, which is guarded at night. We are also a short walk from local minibuses into Blantyre or Limbe. From Blantyre you can easily access other areas of Malawi by bus such as Zomba, the tea estates in Thyolo and areas further afield such as Lake Malawi and Lilongwe.
Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital is walking distance, or you can walk part of the way for 10 minutes and then take a minibus for a minimal fare to the hospital for 2-3 minutes.
We can also connect you to reliable taxi drivers and car hires if you wish to explore the city or further afield. Other Things to NoteWe have a housekeeper who will clean your room every day from Monday to Friday, and for a small additional fee she can also do your laundry.
We have a watchman 7 days a week and a rapid response security company on call as a precaution - don't worry it is safe, just an added bonus!
There is a backup 2500 L water tank for when there might be water shortages in Blantyre. We also have an inverter to provide back up electricity in the sitting room during power cuts, and a gas hob in the kitchen. We feel we have a very good water and power supply for Blantyre, but sometimes these cuts occur.
