Interaction with GuestsThe owner Liz is happy to answer any questions for you as your stay at Playa Loma Bonita approaches. Once you arrive, you will be welcomed by our lovely staff members and 24-hour security who will help you with any needs you may have during your stay. The NeighborhoodPlaya Loma Bonita is located 40 minutes (25 miles) south of the Ixtapa/Zihuatanejo airport. The area is rich in natural beauty, offering unique experiences and fun activities for all kinds of travelers. Loma Bonita, Mexico is a small community in Guerrero. The name means 'beautiful mound' in reference to the area's lush green hills. The town of Petatlan is only 10 minutes away and offers shops, restaurants, and markets. Getting AroundTransportation:
Gustavo is happy to transport guests in a Suburban from the airport. A rental car is not necessary but if you care to venture out during your stay, it may be nice to have your own car. Past guests have found good deals on (website hidden). Please be aware that if you rent a car, typically, as is true in other foreign countries, an auto insurance surcharge will be added to your bill. If you forget something, our staff is happy to go into town to get it for you, for the cost of the item plus a nominal tip. Other Things to NoteMeal Options:
Comercial Mexicana in Zihuatanejo is like a Costco and is probably the best place to stock up on food and beverages for your stay. We suggest stopping there on your way from the airport to Playa Loma Bonita. Otherwise there are plenty of markets in Petatlan. But for our wine drinking guests, it can be somewhat difficult to get wine there. Tequila, not a problem!
We have a cook and a chef who are happy to prepare any meals you prefer. Thomasa, our cook, charges $5 per person for breakfast including fresh juice and $9 per person for lunch and dinner non-inclusive of drinks. She is happy to prepare any or all meals for you. She also does the dishes. We also have an excellent chef, Carmen, who is Cordon Bleu trained and charges $12-15 per person for dinner.
There are also a couple restaurants just down the beach that are delicious, as well as a local pizzeria.
