Spacious open plan kitchen/ dining/living room, veranda with ocean view and the two-tiered pool. Bathroom has pretty mosaic tiles, including the bench in the shower. Lots of storage, parking lot on property, shared use of pool (for paying guests and homeowners' & homeowners friends only). Walk downtown or to beach in 8 minutes, convenience stores 2 min.walk. The property is not wheelchair accessible. Wifi , satellite (might be changed to cable) tv. Pets negotiable, absolutely no smoking on property. References please. Get to know our wonderful neighbor and her family, who will clean your accommodations, practice Spanish and fall in love with her children. Volunteer at the local kindergarten or elementary school. Watch the banana birds flit from one tree to another. Enjoy weekend lunch/dinner at the little family-run restaurant across the way, or cross the road and find delicious barbecued chicken, or the elegant yet reasonable restaurant around the corner, or the darts heaven up the road on the hill. Relax, stroll, search for sea glass on the tranquil north end beach. Look for Saturday bargains in the used clothing stalls in the area. Have outstanding manicures/ pedicures a few short blocks away. Take up yoga or zumba for about $2/hour. Powerwalk in the sports parks and try their ingeniously simple exercise equipment. Pet a passing horse. Meditate on the veranda, read... don't need to rush anything! Second bed is an airmattress. If booking more than one month, price includes a basic electricity allowance (500 pesos/month you pay excess); you also pay for drinking water (15 pesos for 5 gallons, propane gas tank (about 450 pesos should last 5 weeks), and clothes dryer gas tank is split between residents as used about every 7 weeks.

Wonderful neighbours (Mexican, that's how we learned Spanish), proximity to beach & downtown, slight elevation means good drainage, less bugs, and no hot, tiring hike up & down to main road, lots of little groceries, good walking trails, near Mexican outdoor exercise patio, Saturday good/inexpensive food across street.
taxis door to door, regular buses 1 min. walk, very reasonable, trustworthy. intercity buses 7 min. walk, excellent service, can even book online for some of them.
Your unit has a safe, both key and combination. The owners accept no liability for missing property or accidents/injuries. (However, you shouldn't need to worry about theft; this is a comparatively safe neighbourhood because of the neighbours!) After booking, you will receive a mandatory liability waiver form. Please make sure you have your own insurance. The property is non-smoking, indoors and out. We have many stairs; not difficult ones, but not good if you need knee/hip replacement. The street is unpaved, and dust is part of life. Housekeeping for 4 hours weekly is included in price; more hours to be arranged privately, 40 pesos an hour (about $3.50) (we'll translate if you need). You decide if you want one hour 4x/ week or 2 hrs./ twice a week. Housekeepers are wonderful; they will deserve a tip either weekly or at end of your stay; it's quite normal to give about 40-50 pesos/week. Guest AccessYou access the casita via a separate gate at the street, up the stairs through the garden at the north end of the property. You access the pool terrace, laundry and exercise corner by walking about 30 feet to the south of the casita. You contact us by phone or internet or (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) to provide privacy for all prior to visiting either our dwelling or the separate apartment. Interaction with GuestsWe respect privacy and expect that in return, but love to socialize and provide information and assistance, possibly go on road trips together. The NeighborhoodExpect opportunities to practice Spanish, and see chickens, iguanas, horses, and deal with seasonal dust/mud. Getting Around2 mins. from door to public local busses, 5 mins. from door to bus terminal for regional and interurban distances, phone for taxi... or if we're going somewhere, share the gas and join us! Let us know if you'd like to pay the gas and we'll pick up/drive to airport. (also secluded beaches, waterfalls, hot springs... ) We do not charge any other fee for the pickup. If your arrival is after dark, we will not do pickups but will recommend an English speaking taxi driver.
