The SpaceCasa Bamboo is steps from the ocean on a very quiet 15 kilometer sandy beach. You will see dolphins, whales, turtles, seabirds, but very few people. If you are looking for total relaxation in a beautiful tranquil setting, this is the place for you. The house is very private with a lovely garden area. We have palms bursting with coconuts, and fruit trees that when in season are there for the picking. Gabriel will be more than happy to machete open a coconut for you to drink while lounging in the pool bar.
The casa is fully equipped, sheets, towels, candles, cleaning supplies, kitchenware, etc. There are laundry facilities on the premise, as well as basics such as spices, salsas, coffee, tea, and bottled water.
There 2 bedrooms with air conditioning. The sitting room off the kitchen has a very large sofa (9') that will sleep 1 adult, or 2 children. It's not air conditioned, but there is a ceiling fan and the ocean breeze. Guest AccessBy car, Casa Bamboo is 8 minutes from the airport and 20 minutes to Zihuatanejo. Barra de Potosi, an authentic Mexican town, is 15 minutes south on the local road. There, you can rent kayaks and paddle through the mangroves or sit on the beach and take in the local color. Walk 25 minutes south down the beach and visit Hotel Las Palmas and Escondite, where you can have lunch, dinner or drinks in an idyllic setting. Interaction with GuestsGabriel Serrano manages Casa Bamboo and will take care of all your needs. Gabriel picks you up and drops you off at the airport and will familiarize you with the casa. He can arrange cooks, drivers, cleaners, a masseuse, shopping service, etc., whatever you need. The NeighborhoodThe area is rural so don't be surprised if you see a herd of cows or goats making their way down the road. There are some excellent restaurants in the local area where you can enjoy fresh fish, delicious salsas and beverages for great value. Getting AroundThere are buses that pass by Casa Bamboo going to Zihuatanejo and the Barra. It's a rural area so the buses aren't that frequent, about 6 a day. Buses leave from the airport going to Zihuatanejo regularly. Taxis are not expensive when you don't take them from the airport. The car rental companies at the airport are inexpensive and reliable. Gabriel, the manager can arrange for a driver and it'll be much less than a taxi and more convenient. Other Things to NoteThe pool and garden is tended to about 3 times a week. Gabriel will check in to make sure everything is functioning and you are happy.
We don't have WIFI at the casa. There is a wide band device that you can plug into your computer and pick up a signal via satellite. Data is free in Mexico, so you can also use your phone.
We are on the beach so there are creatures such as geckos, bats and lizards that live there too.
There is a dog we rescued named Once (Own-say) that lives with the neighbor when nobody is at the casa. She seems to know who the guests are and who doesn't belong on the property, she's an excellent guard dog. Once is not allowed in the kitchen and the bedrooms and she abides these rules.
The casa can sleep 6. I based this on 2 parents and a child sleeping in one room. The beds are doubles, a little smaller than queens size.
