The SpaceYour accommodation is separate from the main house and comprises a light and airy double bedroom with ensuite shower, washbasin and toilet.
There are two acres of paddocks and gardens to enjoy with several lovely spots to sit and relax, including the terrace outside your room.
Feel free to wander in the paddocks and gardens and see how many different native birds you can spot. Guest AccessYour rooms are self-contained so you won't need to use the house. Tea and coffee making facilities are in your room and you have access to your own mini-fridge and a microwave.
You are welcome to meet our friendly farm animals and interact with them as much or little as you wish. If you've never held a chook, patted a sheep or groomed a pony now is your chance. We aim to be helpful if you need us but to give you your space so you can relax and enjoy your stay. The NeighborhoodAshhurst village is about 4kms away and has a charming rural character. It's the gateway to the Manawatu scenic route which takes you through the beautiful Pohangina Valley. The famous Manawatu Gorge is just down the road as are the river and wetlands. Our visitors usually enjoy a drive up to the Wind Farm with a stop for coffee and a browse in the antique shops in Woodville on the way home.
If you need a city fix, Palmerston North is only 15 minutes away by car and although it's a small city it has theatres, art galleries, Te Manawa museum and the Rugby Museum as well many good restaurants and cafes.
The town of Feilding, home of Manfeild Raceway, is also a 15 minute drive away. It holds a weekly farmers market with guided tours through the stock sale yards. Known as 'Friendly Feilding' it really does live up to its name. Getting AroundThe airport, railway station and main bus depots are 15 to 20 minutes drive away. We may be able to pick you and your cycles up depending on your plans.
We are two hours drive from Wellington and Napier and three hours from Lake Taupo. Auckland is six hours drive away and Tauranga is four.
You will need either a car or bike to make the most of your stay with us as we are 4kms from the Ashhurst bus stop. Other Things to NoteA choice of three cafes and two local pubs that serve food are just a few minutes drive away. We can recommend excellent breakfast, lunch and dinner venues in Ashhurst, Feilding, Palmerston North and beyond.
If you want to bring bikes they can be locked away over night.
