The SpaceWe have only one room so you will be our only guests, our newly redecorated room is luxurious and with lots of little touches to make your stay more comfortable, a king size bed with Egyptian cotton sheets, handmade soaps,flat screen HD TV with Netflix, WiFi unlimited access, a fridge, tea and coffee making facilities, outside private picnic area with BBQ for your cooking, private outdoor spa, safe parking area right in front of your room, a delicious cooked breakfast at our family dining table, or continental breakfast delivered to your room, with honey from the bee hives on our meadow. Guest AccessYou have your own self-contained space with your own front door and key. You are welcome to explore most of our 60 acre property which has a forest, quarry, swimming hole, glow-worms. You will have access to many walking paths and areas hidden from the general public and you may go into the paddocks with our animals and if they are willing you can pet them. Interaction with GuestsWe will be on hand to chat and advise about trips that can be taken from Picton, we have travelled ourselves extensively around New Zealand and are happy to share our experience with you. You can try your hand at pottery in the workshop, or go out on our boat if there are spaces available and swim with seals, scuba dive or visit a resort in the Marlborough Sounds. The NeighborhoodPicton is a marvellous and welcoming little town which has a population of 4,000 normally, swelling to 20,000 in the Summer. There are schools, shops, churches, a cinema, museums, aquarium,groups for every interest if you stay around long enough. The town is 15 mins walk from our property, there is a scenic route along the river to it, or walk over the hill and see the town from above before descending to the other side.
The foreshore has regular activities such as fairs, concerts and fireworks during the Summer Getting AroundIf you are driving, you can park your car right outside your room. If you arrive on foot we are willing to pick you up from train station, ferry, etc. Picton is where you can take the ferry to and from the North Island, or you can go to Kaikoura and Christchurch down the East Coast, or head towards Nelson, Tasman and the West Coast.
The Tranz-coastal express train starts in Picton and goes to Chch, the station is not far from our BnB.
You can also fly to Wellington from Picton airport with Sounds Air, we can drop you at the airport and there is a shuttle Other Things to NoteWe are happy to pick you up from the ferry, bus or airport, and take you back again for your onward journey. We can also provide a lift to restaurants and water taxis and advise which ones are best in our opinion.
