The SpaceStunningly beautiful - not only is this a magic location, the house is the perfect blend of beach house and luxury, modern yet unpretentious, and truly relaxing. Sitting above Staffa Bay, you are just a stone's throw from Matapouri, Woolleys Bay and Whale Bay, three magnificent Tutukaka Coast beaches. No matter what the weather - glorious sunshine, stormy rain - the views are spectacular.
Like a good wine match, the house sits and fits into the environment seamlessly. Designed to capture the sun and views, the living area and bedrooms face north and open onto the front deck. The spacious master bedroom has a king bed, large ensuite (relax in the bath while enjoying the view) and large picture window. The garage studio with its own toilet opens onto a garden and more views! The open plan living area incorporates a very well equipped kitchen, dining area and lounge, with an open fire for the best in winter holidays. An additional outdoor area beyond the dining area is the perfect place to gather in the evening and relax around the outdoor fire.
The hardest decision you may have to make is which beach to go to today? Within a short drive is Sandy Bay (renowned surf beach), Woolleys Bay (great for boogie boarding, walking, swimming), Whale Bay (where bush meets the sand - an idyllic picnic spot),and Matapouri Bay (the jewel of Tutukaka Coast). Tutukaka (Toots) is the place to launch your boat, wander the shops and cafes, or catch a dive expedition to the Poor Knights Islands. Further on from Tutukaka is Ngunguru, a seaside village on the estuary with a well-stocked superette, hairdresser, beauty therapist and takeaways, golf course, sports complex, cafes.
This is a fantastic place to stay while you explore the paradise that is around you. Whether you decide to spend your days on the water, at the beach, or lie back and soak up the vista from your lounger on the deck, the choice is yours. A word of caution - you may never want to leave!

"Stunning location with magnificent views. The house treated us very well and great set up for a couple of families with kids. Enjoyed the use of all the outdoor decks, bbq and truly relaxed. Many beautiful beaches in the area (Whale Bay was our favourite) and looking forward to coming back to this special part of the world." I Stulich Guest AccessMatapouri Views Forever is a self contained holiday home, and as such, guests have the house to themselves. All whiteware including dishwasher, washing machine and dryer is included in the house. Interaction with GuestsAs we are local to the Tutukaka Coast, we are available by phone and email if you have any queries before and during your stay. The NeighborhoodTutukaka Coast is a scenic 25 minute drive north east of Whangarei. Ngunguru is at the beginning of the coast and is a picturesque seaside village nestled on the Ngunguru estuary, sheltered by a long sandspit. Ngunguru is the largest of the coastal settlements and has a well-stocked superette and liquor centre, hair dresser, cafes and takeaways, world famous on the coast!
A short drive over the hill from Ngunguru is Tutukaka Harbour – the place to catch a dive boat to explore the world renowned Poor Knights Islands, go deep sea fishing, or eat and shop at the local cafes and shops.
Turn right before Tutukaka and you’ll pass many sheltered harbour bays, all very safe for swimming and letting the kids play in the water. Whangaumu Bay is at the end of the road (just 4 km from the turn off) and is a very popular holiday spot, with a safe beach for swimming, rocks at either end for snorkelling and fishing, and small boats can be launched directly off the beach.
Next stop after Tutukaka is Matapouri, the jewel of our coast. A beautiful horse shoe shaped bay that is perfect for swimming, stand-up paddle boarding and boogie boarding. Matapouri also has an estuary that is a playground in summer for all water sports, including kayaking up the estuary. And then there’s the bridge to jump off at high tide!
Whale Bay is up the hill from Matapouri – a track through stunning native bush leads you to a white sand beach where the bush meets the sand. There are lots of trees to hang out under for the day (when you’re not basking in the clear blue water).
Woolleys Bay and Sandy Bay are the last two beaches before the road heads inland to Hikurangi.
Woolleys generally is less populated than Sandy Bay and is a great beach for family picnics. Sandy Bay is famous for its surf. There is a surf school operating at the beach over summer – a great place to try out surfing!
There are lots of other gorgeous bays and beaches accessible by going off the beaten track and by water, all of them stunning in their own right! Getting AroundAs there isn't any public transport on the coast, you will need a car while you are staying here. Other Things to NoteLinen is included in the rental, but please bring your own beach towels if possible. There is a cleaning fee of $150/stay.
