For availability please see our main site nelsonholidayhome (.) co (.) nz - search on Aporo Holiday Cottages to find us also Relaxing privacy with stunning views‌ Aporo Cottages are situated on the Nelson Great Taste Trail just off the breathtaking Ruby Coast Highway, 25 minutes drive from Nelson airport. Situated just 25 minutes from both Nelson and the stunning Abel Tasman National Park, yet just a five minute drive from Mapua Wharf's waterfront restaurants, cafes and boutique stores. This area was covered by apple orchards until very recently and 'Aporo' is Maori for Apple. Toffee Apple Cottage is a recently renovated apple worker's cottage with oodles of rustic charm. From the hardwood Rimu sarking to the exposed wooden floors. Enjoy stunning views over the remaining orchards, vineyards and the mountain ranges with Mt Arthur rising majestically. These ex-orchard worker's cottages have been finished to a high standard with a relaxing, intimate environment, private gardens and decking. Toffee Apple Cottage is a cosy cottage for the romantic at heart. With all the luxuries of home, it is especially suited for those seeking privacy and a degree of independence. It is beautifully furnished and equipped to cater for your every need. Sleeping up to 5 guests, all rooms enjoy great views and often spectacular sunrises. The large covered deck offers a shady place to linger with a glass of wine, offering respite from the sun. With views to the Richmond ranges, the rear deck is where pre-dinner wine and canapes must be enjoyed. Ruby Bay beach is just a short walk from the cottage along the Great Taste Trail. Tasman's Great Taste Trail Read More starts from Nelson Airport and offers panoramic coastal views over Tasman Bay, Waimea Estuary and the Western Ranges, including Mt Arthur, Mt Owen and Mt Crusader. Riders pass over boardwalks along the edge of the Waimea Estuary, home to a range of internationally significant bird species including the White Heron and Royal Spoonbill. From here the trail crosses to Rabbit Island, where riders can take a boat trip to Mapua wharf and enjoy cottage industry shops, cafes and restaurants. From Mapua the route leads via Tasman and Harley Road to Motueka, which hosts award winning wineries, then on to Kaiteriteri, the gateway to the Abel Tasman National Park. The Motueka Valley section of the trail from Riwaka goes to Woodstock on country roads along the Motueka River's west bank. The landscape is one of rivers and rolling hills with a backdrop of forest and mountains. Mapua Wharf At the mouth of the vast Waimea Estuary the Mapua Wharf is home to a vibrant collection of restaurants, cafe's, galleries, stores and attractions. Eat fish and chips on the wharf, visit the aquarium, fish off the wharf with your family or browse amongst the unique stores showcasing local artisans and quality goods. In the summer wharf jumping and riding the tide are popular and so is enjoying a glass of something cold and a great meal while watching the tide come in and out. Mapua means abundance and the rich waters of the Waimea Estuary have attracted settlers from early Maori through to the bustling community that has grown up around the Mapua Wharf today. The photo museum operated at the wharf by the Mapua Boat Club records this history and events that have shaped the growth of the wharf. A short 25 minute drive from Nelson, the Mapua Wharf makes a great day out with friends and family. The new waterfront park currently under development includes a waterfront amphitheatre for public concerts and the national cycleway project is bringing a new ferry service to connect the Rabbit Island Cycleway with the Mapua Wharf this coming summer. Wineries & Vineyards Nelson Tasman is home to twenty five boutique wineries, dotted across the picturesque hills and plains of the region's wine growing country. Many offer cellar door tastings and an opportunity to meet the personalities behind some of the region's internationally acclaimed wines. The fruit of the region's wines is making a big splash in the international wine world. Innovative and adventurous winemakers are crafting together flavours from a diverse array of grapes to stunning effect. Our speciality is in aromatic wines but the skills of highly experienced viticulturalists are stamping a mark on the world stage with Nelson Tasman positioning itself as the new speciality wine centre of New Zealand. Many vineyards have cellar door tastings where you can meet the people behind the wines and learn about their art. An organised wine tour is highly recommended. We all love Nelson wines.

The SpaceIt's about enjoying it for what it is - a natural environment with the pleasures that animals bring. Not stressing about a bit of fluff or a leaf on the carpet - it is a farmlet after all, with the associated dust and debris inevitably finding its way inside. My aim is to promote a warm, friendly stress free environment that all will feel at home in. Enjoy the perfect imperfections. It is a comfortable, farmhouse style home in a park like setting with plenty of areas to relax inside and out. The wrap around veranda gives opportunity to sit in or out of the sun. The home has two guest rooms available - this room with one queen bed and adjoining bathroom shared with the other guest room (sleeps 3). Also available on the property, a studio unit (sleeps 4) and a camper (sleeps 2). Guest AccessEnjoy the entire property including the hot tub - the beautiful gardens, native bush, and paddocks, with alpacas, chickens, ducks and cats. Interaction with GuestsI love people, and enjoy interacting and sharing my beautiful property, but equally there is plenty of room for my guests to have their own space. The NeighborhoodMapua is five minutes drive away and has range of shops, galleries, restaurants, bars and cafés. The village is situated by the beautiful Waimea Estuary, just a short drive from Nelson, Richmond and Motueka. The local supermarket is open til 7 each evening. Getting AroundCycles (two) available to get to the village or nearby wineries. Other Things to NotePlease understand this is my home, which includes my cats and animals. I vacuum and clean daily, but bear in mind it is a shared space, and is 'lived in'. I make every effort to keep it tidy during the day and would appreciate the same consideration from my guests. Washing machine available - NZ$10 per load. Pet's/parties/events MAY be allowed by prior arrangement and discussion.

A wonderful mixture of rustic "pieced together" charm combined perfectly with vintage holiday style, and then you successfully adorn it all with a layer of plush cosy comfort :-) Bravo!!! Even now I'm writing this as I sit under soft light with crickets serenading me, and my wife lounging blissful in your bath under the stars with a book and glass of bubbly. Truly her happy place! All this is wonderful, but is so much more so thanks to your kind help and genuinely friendly hospitality; thank you for kindly considering Bastion (who we can say has had a brilliant first experience in a caravan) , and also for all your local tips and advice. May Kissing Gate bring you many happy years of beyond satisfied guests! :-) All our best wishes and thanks. Martin , Carys and Bastion Tidy" March 2016
