We have four options for breakfast: Eggs on toast, Hot oats with passionfruit, Banana pancakes or the Fruit platter. All breakfasts come with tea, house-roasted coffee or freshly squeezed juice. Lunch and dinner are served family style at our large dining table or al fresco on one of our two balconies. If you have any dietary requirements we are very happy to accommodate you or if you prefer to 'opt out' of a meal that's fine we can take this off your bill; Breakfast is US$4, Lunch is US$6 and Dinner is US$7. We also have a range of drinks and snacks to purchase and feel free to bring your own food and drink however bare in mind we do not provide an open kitchen. Please ask if you want a sample menu. Interaction with GuestsSarah from Canada and Alan from Scotland are managing Finca Musica del Bosque whilst Anna and Pete are away visiting family. They live on site and are available to provide guided hikes, coffee & farm tours, information about local wildlife, bamboo harvesting, citrus trees and all sorts of other interesting stuff. They also offer yoga classes taught in house by Sarah who is a 200 hour Yoga Alliance certified teacher and cooking classes as Sarah is a wonderful cook who has cooked on super yachts and worked all over the world for some prestigous clients. The NeighborhoodOur lodge is set off the beaten track, a ten minute hike from our parking space through lush coffee farms. We have a local shop run by farm workers that sells the essentials however our cafe is the only place within walking distance that provides meals. Getting AroundWe supply a pick up service (see Other Things to Note tab for details) from the centre of Matagalpa for $5 per person to bring you to our lodge as the road is 4x4 only. We have many trails to explore but no public transportation nearby, enjoy leaving the heat and noise of the city! If you are staying for a long time with us we can provide transport into the city for day trips or other tours at a reasonable cost. Other Things to NoteWe are off the grid and run purely off solar energy so we don't have many gadgets or gizmos. We offer rustic and delicious vegetarian meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner in our cafeteria. We also have a selection of drinks and snacks available for purchase. We do have free wifi at the lodge but we tend to only turn this on for an hour or so each day so guests are free of gadgets to interact and talk with each other. Please note sometimes it's not a very strong connection as we are high in the mountains but it is sufficient to check emails and use search engines. We can charge your phones and laptops using our solar energy and we have lighting throughout the lodge but its recommended you bring a torch for night time when the lights are off. If you don't have your own towel we can supply one at a small cost. Our lodge is off the beaten track and only accessible by 4x4, so if you don't have your own off road vehicle you will need to take transport from Matagalpa to get to and from the lodge. We provide a pickup (normally at 2pm) and drop off service for guests from Barista Coffee Shop next to Matagalpa Cathedral to the lodge, this costs $5 each way per person ($10 for a single person) - this is the safest and most reliable option and takes about 25 minutes to arrive to the base of our lush walking trail. From there it is a ten minute hike up to the lodge - the trail is fairly steep at times so backpacks and walking shoes are recommended. It is possible to take a random taxi from the city which will cost about $7, but they can only bring you to a river crossing where we would have to pick you up - so this option works out about the same price but is less reliable and safe.

The NeighborhoodOur lodge is set off the beaten track, ten minutes hike from our parking space, on a lush coffee farm with stunning views of Matagalpa region. We have a local shop run by farm workers that sells the essentials but our cafe is the only place within walking distance that provides meals. Getting AroundWe supply a up service (see Other Things to Note tab for details) from the centre of Matagalpa for $5 per person as the road is 4x4 only. We have many trails to explore but no public transportation nearby, enjoy leaving the heat and noise of the city! If you're staying for a long time with us we can provide transport into the city for day trips or other tours at a reasonable cost. Other Things to NoteWe are off the grid and run almost purely off solar energy so we don't have many gadgets or gizmos.
