There are many other cafes and shops 15 minutes away by car. Guest AccessLounge, study, ensuite facilities with shower. There are two balconies with garden furniture to enjoy in good weather. Interaction with GuestsWe live downstairs so just ask if you need anything, otherwise we will provide you with a key so just come and go as you please. The NeighborhoodWe live in a rural area, surrounded by countryside, but it is still so easy to get around, Northern Ireland is a small place!
You can be in North Coast where so much of Game of Thrones was filmed in just over an hour and Belfast is just a 25 minute drive away. You can access the North Coast via Motorway or you can take the more leisurely Coastal Route.
From the town of Larne ( an easy 20 minutes by car), rugged cliffs stretch north for 80 miles, surrounded by the beautiful Nine Glens of Antrim, this is where you can join the Causeway Coastal Route, which has been rated one of the Top Five Road Trips worldwide, and when you drive it - you'll see why! You will drive through THREE designated Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty - The Causeway Coast, the Antrim Coast & Glens.
Of course making a stop at the Giants Causeway itself is a must - it's the only UNESCO World Heritage Site in Northern Ireland. The seaside towns of Bushmills, home of the famous whiskey distillery, Portstewart and Portrush are all easily reached from the Causeway.
If you're a Game of Thrones fan you should also try and visit some of the filming locations, like Ballintoy Harbour, Downhill Beach, Cushendun Caves, Portstewart Strand and The Dark Hedges. Again, these are all around 80 minutes from our place.
Our nearest towns are Ballyclare and Carrickfergus, 15 minutes away by car, where you can find cafes and shops. A well preserved Norman Castle is the main attraction of Carrickfergus, which is situated on the shore of Belfast Lough. There are many lovely bike routes where we live if you're into cycling too!
We also have a lovely organic farm serving food all day Tues - Sat, a short walk away. Getting AroundThere are two train stations 15 mins away. A taxi will cost about £5 and if we are near we might be able to collect you. Belfast International Airport and Belfast George Best Airports are 25 mins away. We do recommend car hire. Other Things to NoteWe have no designated parking spaces, so you will be parking in the street. We park there too!
