The SpaceEveryone who stays in this house feels instantly at home. It was completely refurnished in 2011 but retains its rustic character; the wooden floors, exposed brick kitchen, wood burning stove, claw foot bath tub, but still has all the modern conveniences. Guest AccessGuests will have access to a shared kitchen, bathroom and living room. Help yourselves to tea and coffee. The fire will be lit almost all the time in the winter, and there is a courtyard garden and a bar-b-que to avail of during the summer. Free street parking is available right outside the house, although due to the proximity to the university this can be busy during the day during term time. Evenings and weekends are usually ok though. I have two spare bikes (his & hers) that guests are free to use. The beautiful Lagan Towpath is just minutes away. Lights, helmets and locks are provided. Calls from the house phone (just beside the front door) are free to local landline numbers. Guests are welcome to use this to book restaurants, taxis, etc. Each room also has a hair drier. Interaction with GuestsI am currently living and working in the United States and so my friend Cathy is minding the house at the minute. If she isn't in when guests arrive then the keys will be left nearby in a secure place. I am still happy to answer any questions you might have about your stay. The NeighborhoodYou are not going to find a more convenient location in Belfast. Our leafy, residential street is literally next door to the historic Queen's University and the beautiful Botanic Gardens. The bars, cafes, and restaurants of Botanic Avenue are only 5 minutes away, and the city centre is a 15-20 minute walk. The street itself is often used as a location for local film and television productions, such as the TV drama The Fall, and the movie Good Vibrations. Getting AroundBelfast is a very easy city to walk around. City center is only 15-20 minutes away, or £5 in a taxi. I also have two spare bikes that guests are welcome to use use. There are cycle paths into the city nearby, which also lead out into the countryside. Lock, helmets and lights also provided. Botanic Avenue train station is a 5-10 minute walk from the house, and there multiple bus stops nearby. Arriving from the George Best City Airport is about a £8-10 taxi journey. Or there is a bus to the city center. From Belfast International Airport, a taxi costs about £25, or there is a bus which takes you to the Europa bus station. From here it's a 20-30 minute walk, or about £5 in a taxi. Similarly, the bus from Dublin airport will also drop you at the Europa. Other Things to NoteThe property has one other double room available on Airbnb under a separate listing. So guests may need to be aware that they could be sharing with other Airbnb'ers. Or this could be beneficial to couples or individuals travelling together that would like their own space.
