Interaction with GuestsIt includes Horse and mule driver to carry things in the most difficult stretch Day 2, (Soraypampa --Salkantay Pass The NeighborhoodRefugios Salkantay is a team project comprised of local families in tight collaboration, communication, understanding, and mutual support. Through the years we have worked with many tour agencies as mule drivers and have serviced our homes to trekkers hoping to buy water, chocolate, and beer. The travel agencies have deteriorated our homes and left trash along the route. Yet, we have learned valuable lessons. We’ve learned how to attend to our customers. Through work with multiple agencies, we have observed the different methods for excellent guest service.
For these reasons, Refugios Salkantay offers a quality service founded on creativity and innovation. Getting AroundIn reality, there are many agencies operating the Salkantay route. This Inca Trail alternative was ranked among the top 25 treks in the entire world by National Geographic in 2008. For this reason, the trek has received a high volume of hikers and is not as remote as it used to be. Due to a large amount of tourism, small stores have opened along the route and guides on horseback are almost constantly moving groups across the pass. The path is marked and very clear. For this reason, a guide is unnecessary. Other Things to NoteWe provide private lodging in Soraypampa, Chalway, and Inca Trail Llactapata (Lucmabamba) . Meals, including breakfast, lunch, and dinner, are included so that you only need a small backpack. You don’t need a tent, sleeping bag, or heavy pack. We will take care of everything, ensuring an efficient and flexible service. More importantly, you can expect a personalized, once-in-a-lifetime adventure.
