The SpaceFrom Maine, US to Huanuco, Peru! We've enjoyed hosting airbnb guests in Maine from around the world. Now we are pleased to be the first hosts in Huanuco.
Our lovely 4th floor apt is spacious with vibrant colors throughout. It has 3 BR, 2 BA, LR, DR, K, and Office. We have 2 guest rooms. One is sunflower yellow with a built-in closet, twin bunk beds, a desk and views of rooftop gardens, neighboring buildings and the mountains. The other room is very quiet with a built in closet and a twin bed. It also has space for one of our extra wide, twin, luxury air mattresses. The full bath is semi-private, depending on whether their are other guests. If you are traveling with children or in a group we can accommodate 6 extras with air mattresses and the couch.
We are unique in that though all are welcome, we cater especially to motorcyclists. Toby is a master mechanic and runs a moto adventure tour company part-time. He grew up in Peru and is extremely knowledgeable of the culture, language, history and geography. Sara is multi-lingual and multi-cultural as well.
Come and enjoy this lovely place! Guest AccessGuests have access to high speed Wi-fi, all common areas, garage and laundry facilities. We provide a full organic breakfast for $4usd per person. You may also use the kitchen. Your stay helps us to volunteer with Yapey Yurijcuna, a local NGO that helps bring dignity through vocational training to disabled Quechua people of the region. Interaction with GuestsOur schedules vary but are flexible. We enjoy sharing meals and interacting with guests, site seeing, playing cards or board games (Settlers of Catan is a favorite), or sharing a bottle of wine and life's adventures. We have taken many rides out to the lakes and mountain villages and are happy to give recommendations. The NeighborhoodOur neighborhood is quiet with 2 parks nearby where you can sit and enjoy the flowers and views. In the afternoons there is often a volleyball game to watch or jump into. There are several little "bodegas" or shops to pick up essentials and local "menu" restaurants where one can get a full lunch for less than $2usd. Getting AroundHuanuco is a 35 min flight from Lima or a 9 hr bus ride. We are about 10 min from the main plaza and bus stations: about 25 from the airport. Motocars or "toritos" are an easy and inexpensive way to get around. You can also ask them to lead your vehicle to our place (about $1.25usd from the plaza) or to another location. Other Things to NoteThere are many historical sites in and around Huanuco including Spanish cathedrals, sports stadium, pristine lakes, pre-Incan ruins and more...
