The SpaceLa Casita mesmerizes in its beauty and tranquility. The boutique Eco B&B, a reinterpreted Filipino ‘Bahay Kubo’, is a secluded space to escape the rigors of everyday life. Through our efforts to create a sustainable environment in harmony with nature, we are able to develop and support livelihood programs to be of benefit to many communities within Baclayon and Bohol.
The house is designed and decorated to give guests a true and genuine experience of living in Bohol. The living areas are largely open plan and exposed to the sea breezes, with large indoor pools which negate the need for air conditioning and ensuring comfort and a peaceful and relaxed ambience in a very natural setting. Guest AccessGuests are welcome to utilise all the open living areas of the house, as well as the garden, and have access to internet, television, and other facilities. We do not provide facilities for guests to cook their own food. We do provide substantial breakfasts and additional and delicious meals at modest cost if guests do not wish to eat at the restaurants and barbecue stalls at the town centre, or at other restaurants at Tagbilaran or Panglao.
We do also provide a laundry service (by hand) for a small fee payable to our staff helpers. Interaction with GuestsWe are available to assist and advise guests in organising and arranging any tours and activities whilst in Bohol. We take pride in being available to help guests with their needs during their entire stay at our home but also understand and appreciate when guests may prefer privacy and make their own arrangements. The NeighborhoodA stay at La Casita is not complete without exploring nearby Baclayon. The picturesque and historic town is located only 7km from Tagbilaran City, the capital of Bohol. Baclayon has a proud role in the history of Bohol as it is renown as the oldest town on the island province, having been settled by the Spaniards in 1596.
Baclayon is bestowed with a plethora of historical, natural and cultural treasures, all waiting to be discovered; charming ancestral houses line the highway towards the famed Baclayon Church; an idyllic countryside of rice fields and upland lakes; and the island of Pamilacan, just a one hour pump boat ride away where dolphins, whales and whale sharks abound.
Baclayon is ideally located along the main Bohol Countryside Tour route, between Panglao Island and Carmen, the home of the Chocolate Hills. We can help organize personalized tours to the many beautiful and enthralling destinations around the island so guests never have a dull moment on holiday. Getting AroundOur home is located in a secluded area in the hills above Baclayon, about a 1.5 kilometres from the town proper. It is an easy and safe walk to the town proper, and we rent out a scooter at a very affordable daily rate. There are cars and drivers available for tour rental at reasonable rates which we can organise on behalf of our guests. There are also tricycles and jeepneys which run along the main highway at the town proper at very cheap rates to the capital of Bohol, Tagbilaran.
We can also organise pump boat hire at reasonable rates when guests wish to go dolphin watching at Pamilacan Island, swim with the whale sharks in March, April or May, or go island hopping and snorkelling and diving. Other Things to NoteWe do have dogs and cats. We kindly request that you inform us in advance if they have any allergies caused by pets so that we may be able to take appropriate precautions.
We also have two large internal pools as well as open living areas which do mean that the house is not suitable for small children.
