The SpaceTraditional Madeiran house from 1932 with more than 30 metres beachfront line gives you a breathtaking view over the Atlantic ocean and the harbour of Funchal. Large seafront plot of land in central Funchal is unique. Sipping your morning coffee in the garden, you might see a dolphin, a whale or a sea lion.
From the street you can’t even see the house! An old cable stone path leads you to the 400 m2 hidden land which opens up behind a wall and a tall pitanya hedge. From this tropical garden with herbs and banana plants you can only hear the ocean day and night.
The property consists of two units, Beach House (4 beds) and Surfstudio (2 beds). Both units can be rented seperately or together, then adding up to 6 sleeps. Each unit has its own terrace with trellis giving extra privacy.
In the surroundings of the house there are no tourist traps, only nice Madeiran houses with gardens, great sea views, local cafés and restaurants. Enjoy the buzzing old town by day and by night, try the local fish restaurants and the new poncha bars. It´s a safe and peaceful area.
The villa is the ideal base from where you can explore the beautiful island of Madeira. It is located in the heart of Funchal, just by the seaside, where you can swim, water ski, scuba dive, sail and so much more. The two golf courses are very near, Palheiro Golf is just 13 min away and Santo da Serra Golf is just 28 min away by car.
Madeira is a hikers paradise and from here you can reach the mountains and discover the levada trails. A bus stop is nearby, and the main road to the airport is very easy to catch. No car is necessary, everything is a short walk away. But if you have a car you can just park on the street outside.
If you would like to swim in the ocean, we recommend the public bath 500 metres away with showers and lifeguards. There you also find a very nice beach café!
When it comes to restaurants, you have only 400 meters to “OTasco”, 500 m to “Riso” (try their confetti duck;), 600 m to “Do Forte” or 900 m to "Mozart" (go for the special menu with wine package, great value)! Skipping restaurant for a night, we recommend making the most out of a BBQ: Fresh fruit, vegetables, fish and meat are just nearby in the famous Funchal market 1.2 km away. Perfect for an al fresco-lunch or dinner by the poolside.
When is a great time to visit the island? All year round! There are events each month going on such as fireworks, flower festival, golf open, carnivals, big game fishing, garden shows, music festivals & much more to keep you entertained year round.
