The walk to Sandals is absolutely superb as you pass their beautiful golf course and well kept grounds full of tropical and exotic plants and trees. Our house is also situated 3 minutes walk away from the Capitals main hospital in Castries Victoria hospital it is also situated near to Tapion a private hospital and St Lucia's New National Hospital. It's only a 15 minutes walk or 5 minutes bus ride away to Castries town centre. Close to good transport links including George Compton Highway, taxi and local bus transit service which is located minutes away by the hospital. There is also a local gym situated 5 minutes walk down the road. If hiring a vehicle it is advised to get a 4x4 car. The property is available for both Short and long term self catering rentals. (Prices may vary depending on holiday seasons, discounts or other negotiations) Please feel free to contact us if you need any further information. Our property is located 5 minutes walk away from Sandals Regency La Toc Golf Resort and Spa Hotel where there is public access on part of Sandals grounds to gain access to the public beach. For an additional fee guests are able to play golf and use some facilities at Sandals which is an adults only resort. Our house is also situated 3 minutes walk away from the Capitals main hospital in Castries Victoria hospital it is also situated near to Tapion a private hospital and St Lucia's New National Hospital.     The SpaceThis cottage shares a verdant, tropical courtyard with the main house. Patios from both bedrooms look west onto Caribbean sea and beautiful sunsets. It is complete with washing machine, TV, cable, Internet My husband and I are retired, but I am still an active artist. My studio is situated on the court yard also. I give painting and jewelry lessons. We have a tennis court. It is cool and quiet here with easy access to the main highway that connects to beaches, sites and activities. The island is only 15 x 45 miles so the distances are relatively small. 1/2 hour to Northern beaches, hotels and casino.1 hour to Pitons and sulphur Springs areas. A rental car is suggested.

The cottage is approximately 20 minutes by car from George F. Charles airport (SLU) and approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes from Hewanorra airport (UVF). Enjoy a fabulous view of the Caribbean Sea from the cottage’s covered verandah, take a swim in its swimming pool or take a walk along the ocean’s edge through a wooded path to the beautiful beach at the world-famous Windjammer Landing Hotel. If you are looking for a truly relaxing experience or for a fun-filled vacation, this is the cottage for you. The cottage overlooks Choc Bay the gateway to Castries harbor. Castries, the capitol of Saint Lucia, is the main center of commerce on the island. Cruise ships arriving in Saint Lucia tie up at the docks in Castries harbor. From the cottage’s verandah you can watch the cruise ships, as they arrive. Or, you can daydream about days gone by, as you watch the tall-ship Brig Unicorn sail past making its daily trip from Rodney Bay to Soufriere. 'Sur la Mer' is designed to take full advantage of its seaside location. All major living areas open onto a large, covered verandah, which faces the pool and the Caribbean. Getting AroundA public bus service to Castries is available at peak hours, outside of which we can provide an in-house taxi service. From Castries you can use the public service to any part of the island. Some guests prefer to hire a vehicle. We suggest you also book a vehicle at the same time you book your accommodation, to avoid disappointments. If you arrive at the George Charles Airport transfer is US$5 per person. From the Hewanorra International Airport the transfer is US$75-80 per couple. If you opt to use the public transport system it is a little more long-winded, but back-packers often choose this. Other Things to Note- Our voltage is 220. 110 appliances (apart from universal charges for phones or laptops) will require a step-down transformer. Always seek advice from our staff before using any 110 volt appliances. - Repellant. Should you need to buy a repellent, we suggest you purchase and pack Citronella Oil or Skin-so-Soft... they are quite effective, and contain less harmful additives. - It is useful to change your currency into EC$ when you arrive, as it simplifies miscellaneous expenses - Our banks close at 2 pm Mon-Thurs & 5 pm Fri. The facility is approximately half (½) mile or 3-5 minutes drive from the city centre and five minutes from the Castries Harbour and Ferry Terminal at La Toc Road. We are also located 10 mins or 2 miles from George FL Charles Airport. We are a six bedroom guest house and accommodate up to sixteen persons. (two apartments 3 bedrooms upstairs and 3 bedrooms downstairs) We offer single, double, triple, and quad occupancy. The facility is self contained has a fully equipped kitchen, Cable television, heavy duty fans, (air condition - with a separate fee for electricity ) cd player, hot & cold water, laundry facilities, living room, wireless internet, maid and baby sitting services. The rooms are quite spacious enabling you to breathe some fresh air and enabling you to have a home away home. We offer Group accommodation at a discounted rate. Rates are also negotiated with you the traveler in mind. Rates are 45usd double occupancy per room with kitchen and all conveniences. (Apartment style accommodation, living room and dining area) The bathroom is not shared. Air conditioned rooms are available with an extra fee for the electricity. Accommodation for 28 nights and more is discounted at the discretion of the manager. Based on the occupancy sometimes you may occupy the entire apartment. Getting AroundEasy access to public transport from the Morne Sea View apartment The bus service is extremely convenient and costs ECD1.75 to the city via any bus with a number plate M1 to M9999 and labeled with the following routes on the front: Route 5F, Route 2A and Route 3A From the city to your apartment: - use the bus stop on St. Louis Street ( the buses are labeled Route 5F for Ciceron buses) To Rodney Bay/Gros Islet from the city use the bus stop on Darling Road (the buses are labeled Route 1A for Gros Islet buses) The cost is ECD2.50 To Soufriere to or from the city: Use the bus stop at the Castries Market Area ECD 8.00 In Soufriere, the bus stops are located next to each other, adjacent to the town square and Catholic Church. Vieux Fort: to and from the City ECD 8.00 (the buses are labeled Route 2H for Vieux Fort buses) The Vieux Fort bus stop is located TIP: Do greet those who are already on the bus when you enter, it will put you in good stead! A loud “Good morning” is all that is needed. You can exit the bus at any time by saying “Bus Stop, Please” (if there is a bus stop) or “Stopping Please” to exit anywhere along the route. If you are along the route you wish to travel, you can hail one that is passing by simply sticking out your arm. If the driver blinks his head lamps at you, there are no more spaces left. We have car rentals or taxi service available upon request. Our driver is knowledgeable, helpful and affordable. Average daily temperatures are around 29 °C (84 °F), and average nighttime temperatures are around 22 °C (70-72 °F). Saint Lucia is in the tropical zone and mainly due to its proximity to the equator, the average daily temperature does not fluctuate much between summer and winter. The dry season runs from December to May and the wet or hurricane season is from June to November. June to August is the hottest period.

    The SpaceThere are two apartments for guests on the ground floor. We live upstairs. The living room is on the country road side. People are still used to walk. The bus stop is 3 houses further under a big mangoo tree. The rooms are behind on the garden side. Guest AccessYou have a private balkony with a gate for small children. You can go around the house at your side, find there the washing machine in the store room and laundry lines outside. For children we have toys, tell us what they like. Interaction with GuestsAs often guests arrive after a long trip of 24 hours we do not ask then to come upstairs to have a drink with us at sunfall. Tell us if and when you like it. The NeighborhoodThis is in a quiet authentic neighborhood where people say hello when you walk to the beach. There is a short cut. Buses go downtown, but there may be buses going to the highway for the beach. When you come back from the beach, if you do not want to walk take the bus after the Chinese Restaurant and Super J. Getting AroundThe busses have green plates M and are cheap. The NeighborhoodMy neigbours are goats on a side and bush the other one. I like this place because it is very quiet days and nights and we feel like in the countryside. In fact, the main road is just 2 minutes walking lower down. If you dont drive, I will show you the shortcut that take you quick there to catch a bus. there is a road leading to the house but it is longer walking (10min). This road is accessible by driving but it is rocky for about 1 min. You can park easily at the front of the house. When it's raining it's muddy and parking will be possible 50 metres from home. Getting Aroundfrom the Vigie airport, you have to take a taxi, about 20 usd , and go to Gros Islet in Marisule. It takes approx 20 minutes to reach the house. Other Things to NoteYou will be visited by Boy, the cat who live outdoor the house. I feed him twice a day with food on top of the fridge. I allow him to stay around but not to rest on beds and chairs. Don't feel bad to leave him outside at nights

Vieux Fort: to and from the City ECD 8.00 (the buses are labeled Route 2H for Vieux Fort buses) The Vieux Fort bus stop is located TIP: Do greet those who are already on the bus when you enter, it will put you in good stead! A loud “Good morning” is all that is needed. You can exit the bus at any time by saying “Bus Stop, Please” (if there is a bus stop) or “Stopping Please” to exit anywhere along the route. If you are along the route you wish to travel, you can hail one that is passing by simply sticking out your arm. If the driver blinks his head lamps at you, there are no more spaces left.                   The house is beautifully decorated with a clean and chic Caribbean flavor. The bedrooms are both doubles and are served by ensuite bathrooms. The kitchen boasts all modern conveniences, and is a joy to cook in. The large living space indoors is separated from the balcony by a large french door, which gives plenty of natural light. The balcony itself is simply stunning, with constant fresh breezes and an unrivaled view of the 2 mile beach below.

                          The house is beside the bus stop going to the market of downtown Castries. Beach at walking distance = Vigie Beach. Great mountain view, very green and then the harbour of Castries and the seaview, rainbow, beautiful sunsets behind. There are a double bed in one room and 2 singles beds in the other room. Each room has a wardrobe. A sleeping couch for 1 person in the living room. Shower with water from a solar water heater. Wi-fi works well. Cable tv. The kitchen is well equipped. Bed and toys for child available. We live upstairs and have 2 equal apartments for visitors downstairs. Everything is quite new and easy to live. Mosquito screens on all windows with buglar bars. Quiet local neighborhood. As some guests asked us: the price is in US$ and not in EC$. This is a quiet local place with nice neighbors.One of the neighbors gives/ rent a parking if you rent a car.The closest rental is "Best rates 24 hours". We ourselves do not need or have a car,as the buses are close and we walk to the beach.There is no post delivery in Saint Lucia, we have no address but a mail box in town,so the road does not have a name. On one hand you go to downtown, on the other hand you go to the beach = Vigie/ Malabar Beach, where you find Hotel Rendezvous. From downtown you can take the bus to Soufriere or anywhere.
