The SpaceThis apartment is part of our home, but has its own entrance and allows you to enjoy your own space. With the freedom to come and go as you please, you can relax knowing your hosts are upstairs if you need anything! The apartment is ideal for a couple or a single traveller. We are only insured for two guests at any given time therefore we must insist that this caveat is adhered to! Our one bedroom apartment includes a bedroom with king size bed, bathroom with shower, fully kitted out kitchen with fridge freezer and digital TV. Free WiFi for those with their own devices is also included, and you will also have access to the garden, which has stunning views to the castle and Inverness. While there is no window in the bedroom, many of our guests have commented that this has actually helped them have a sound night's sleep! We will be around if you need us, however we aren't going to step on your toes. We provide a self catering service, but are delighted to help out with any questions you may have and additional services can be quoted upon request. The apartment is on the bottom floor of a Victorian-era house - it was built in 1895! The entrance door height is 180cm (5' 11"), so do mind your head when entering the apartment if you're tall; the internal doors are of a modern fitting, and the internal ceiling height is 215cm. We are right in the centre of Inverness city, yet the street is very quiet. The apartment is located in the pretty Crown district where there are lovely independent cafes and bars, and just 2 minutes down the street you'll find Inverness High Street, the Eastgate Shopping Centre and all the main shops and bars/restaurants. The High Street leads down to the River Ness and the excellent Eden Court Theatre, which has a wonderful cinema and regularly plays host to theatre, ballet, opera etc. Take a walk along the river to Ness Islands or out to the Caledonian Canal, part of the Great Glen Way. Whether you're a 'towny' or an 'outdoorsy' type, pretty Inverness offers the best of both worlds without having to go very far - which is why we love living here! Driving the North Coast 500 Route (NC500)? We are in an ideal location for either starting or ending the route! We are also a convenient base for those visiting or working temporarily at Raigmore Hospital, the Sheriff Court or Inverness College (UHI). We are an extremely convenient 5 minute walk from Inverness train and bus stations. If you are flying to Inverness airport, you can take the airport bus to the bus station, or a taxi will cost around £20 and will take 20 - 30 minutes. If you're bringing your car, you can park on the street for free using our visitor permit - there is plenty parking outside the property. Guest AccessYou will have access to our one bedroom apartment which includes a bedroom with king size bed, bathroom with shower, fully kitted out kitchen with fridge freezer and digital TV. Free wifi for those with their own devices. You will also have access to the garden, which has a large decked area with table and chairs. The apartment can be found at the rear of the property, down a few steps at the bottom of the garden path. If we are at work, we will leave your keys in our lockbox so that you can get settled in at the most convenient time for you. Interaction with GuestsWe very much want you to enjoy your stay in the Highland capital, and will be on hand to help out with any requests you may have. We will always respond quickly to any emails, calls or knocks at the door! We have lived in Inverness for 9 years so know the city and surrounding area well, and are happy to help you plan your trip to make sure you get the very best from your visit to the Highlands. The NeighborhoodThe Crown, where our apartment is located, is one of the most beautiful areas in Inverness and is as close to the city centre as you can get. It has a village-like feel to it, with friendly locals and excellent bakeries, cafes, restaurants and pubs. Getting AroundThe local bus service is frequent and inexpensive, and there are regular train services to Aberdeen, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Perth etc. The bus station is a 5 minute walk from the apartment, and if you want to hire a bike, there are several operators in the town. Other Things to NoteInverness is an excellent base for many activities including golf, fishing, hiking, and sailing, to name a few. We are happy to help plan any golf during your visit to Inverness - Keith can also offer a caddying service most weekends. We also have friends who can help organise some amazing fly fishing in some incredible locales, so again, just ask if this interests you.
