Greystone Lodge offers AA recommended accommodation and facilities on a 500 acre private nature reserve in the Mpumalanga Highlands of South Africa on a three star self-catering or B&B; basis. Situated just off the N4 between Belfast and Dullstroom and within easy reach of the Blyde River Canyon, Pilgrim's Rest and Kruger Park, it is an ideal base for touring and a perfect location for a quiet break from the city. Fly fishing, clay pigeon shooting, golf driving range, nature and game walks, bird-watching, conferences, team building and function facilities are all available, as are our bar and restaurant.
The accommodation at Greystone Lodge consists of one, two and three-bedroom self-contained chalets, and spacious two-bedroom two-bathroom apartments with full kitchen, lounge and private balcony in the main lodge. All have extensive views over the property and Dam, are fully equipped for self-catering and are complete with bedding and towels, kitchen equipment, crockery and cutlery. A conference centre/function room and Lapa can also be booked by the day for groups or private parties. Guests wishing to take all meals at the Lodge may do so, but prior booking for evening meals (other than bar food) is essential.
Greystone Lodge is situated in the Trout Triangle of the Highlands Meander, between Belfast, Dullstroom and Machadodorp. It's a land where fly-fishing rules. The charming historical village Dullstroom dated back to early 1880 is only 20km away, and the nearby Verloren Vallei Nature Reserve is home to the three most endangered cranes â€“ the blue crane, the crowned crane and the wattled crane. To explore further, take a day trip to the Panorama Route and the Blyde River Canyon, one of the world's largest canyons which would take your breathe away. The drive to the scenic landmarks like God's Window, Pinnacle, Bourke's Luck Potholes, the Three Rondalwelsand Mac Mac Falls is breath taking. The Echo Caves and Sudwala Caves offer amazing rock formation features to the natural lovers. For the big five seekers, you can plan for an early start of day trip or stopover on the way in or out the Kruger Park.
