The SpaceTo begin a day at Kamatha is like slipping into a child’s drawing: odd-shapped trees interrupt fields of paddy. The sky is crayoned a solid, royal blue with a brilliant sun; layers of white puffy clouds extend in endless vistas to the next valley and the next again. There are no sounds but the scented breezes whistling lightly across the fields and the occasional flinch of some tiny, prehistoric creature under dry sticks a few paces ahead.
Kamatha Eco Lodge offers a relaxing and refreshing experience of “the real Sri Lankan life”. Our community lies a little way from the well-beaten tourist trail and yet offers access to all the wonderful sights and sounds of Sri Lanka. “Authentic adventure experience in Sri Lanka”
We stayed in Eco dwelling in Kamatha Adventure Lodge during our 14 days long holiday in Sri Lanka and Kamatha was the highlight of our trip.
The host, Warner was an amazing naturalist who knows his job. During our trek to Sigiriya Warner showed us lots of birds and his eye and knowledge is very good spotting and identifying birds.
Our kids enjoyed the ATV rides and the night safari to see Elephants. Food was very tasty and we experienced pure hospitality and authentic Sri Lankan experience.
We recommend Kamatha Adventure Eco Lodge for all.

“My happy place in Sri Lanka”
I came to Habarana with a plan to spend a day. Ended up staying at Kamataha eco Lodge for 5 nights and it was the best part of my trip.
The lodge is made in traditional sri lankan style with clay and dung as explained by Warner, the super friendly host. The setting is in a beautiful rice paddy plantation and you will wake up to the sound of birds. Possibly the best Sri Lankan food I ate was at Kamatha.
Definitely a place to go if you want to experience the real sri lankan village life and not one as advertised in many places :)
Room Tip: Get the cottage

In our ten days travel around Sri Lanka, we had decided to spend one night at Kamathha Eco Lodge... ended up staying two! The lodge itself it’s easy to get to, located in a beautiful setting and surrounded by rice plantation. The bungalows, made with clay and dung, are clean, airy and big enough for 4 people, with a nice patio. There’s a common space where you eat and can have a rest at night, talking to the host, Warner. He has been one of the friendliest most helpful and welcoming people we have met in Sri Lanka. He can offer you all kind of adventure activities, from the safari to bike rides. He took us for a night safari in the jungle on the first night and he even drove us to Syigiria. They offer typical amazing Sri Lankan food -we had super and breakfast for 3$ more. We would go again and recommend it to everyone. PS: There’s an ayurvedic SPA not far from there where you get a discount if you say you’re staying at Warner’s. There’s no internet - if you really need it you can use Warner’s PC, or just buying a sim card for a few dollars anywhere in the country.

Unique location with very knowlegeable and welcoming owner
Location makes you really feel a part of nature, Warner organizes great trips and anything else you need, food is amazing. A place with a soul that's managed with passion!
A beautiful place, very nice and welcoming owner, and amazing food !
We stayed in a nice cabana in the middle of beautiful paddy fields, on the shade of a beautiful forest. You can hear and see a lot of birds and squirrels. The room are furnished very simply but it was clean. And we appreciated our stay in this quite place. It's closed by Habarana town and the owner offered us to bring us there every time we needed. We thought that Habarana was a good starting point to visit the different locations of cultural triangle as everything is quite close by bus. Even if we didn't experienced it, we say that he organises some tours and safari. What we liked most appart from the beautiful location, is the food ! A women came every mornings and evenings to cook amazing meals just for us in her outside kitchen. The rice and curry we had there was one of the most delicious we had in Sri Lanka ! I definitely recommend this place to people who want to live an authentic experience close by nature for a couple of days while visiting cultural triangle.
My friend and I stayed at Warner’s Kamatha Eco Lodge for just a night and didn't want to leave when we had to. He picked us up from the main road, as his place is a little secluded. Upon reaching the place, we felt as if we've travelled back in time to the old rustic era when everything in life was simple and easily available. In one sentence, the place is beautiful.
A lovely place with the best host
We loved the place, it was really beautiful and Warner was a perfect host. He helped us with everything and cooked the best meals. He offers lot of trips and we were bummed that we could not do one of them. They all sounded so good! If you are looking for a beautiful outdoors place to relax and enjoy good homemade food, you have to stay here! It was a great stay and we had a lovely time at warners place!
