手電筒 Guest AccessGuests have access to all common areas. The common areas include the outdoor living space, kitchen, pool, bathroom and the common area we use for storage and laundry. Interaction with GuestsWe spend most weekends at Big Rock Candy Mountain, so one of us is usually there from Friday night (10-11pm) to Tuesday morning. When we are there we are always available to help guests with any questions. The NeighborhoodOur neighborhood is the jungle, our neighbors are the birds, bees and monkeys! Getting AroundWe are 3km from the train station, so if you are arriving by train let us know and we can arrange a pick up for you. We do have an old 125cc scooter that we rent to guests at 400 NTD a day. If you would like to rent the scooter please let us know so that we can book it for you. Other Things to NoteA fair note of warning. We are located in the jungle in the mountains and we are 3km from the town. So be prepared to buy food in town before coming up the mountain. There is one Family Mart (convenience store) and a limited general store. There is no fresh produce available to buy from stores in Dong Ao. In the early morning in Dong Ao village from 7-10 am there is a vendor that sells fresh produce (veggies and fruit) and frozen meat.
Also, bring bug spray, it is the jungle and there are mosquitoes. A flashlight is not a necessity, but if you would like to go on a night walk it is absolutely necessary. We are in the jungle and it is not uncommon to encounter snakes. Especially in the warmer months.
There is a world class surf break 20 minutes away, super good snorkeling (especially in the summer), waterfalls, rock jumping, beach bumming, kayaking, mountain biking, Olympic quality hatchet throwing court, Dong Yue cold spring....you get the picture.
