The SpaceThe unit is cozy and while compact offers a lot of natural elements surrounding you at your door step. It is modest and simply furnished and laid back. And while a basic tv and wifi is supplied most use this opportunity to disconnect from technology and just enjoy the nature sounds and environs. The wifi reception can be tricky you just need to find the right spot.
There are only about 30 residents in this particular area so being private and peaceful is exactly what you will enjoy.
**Please also be mindful that you are in nature up in the mountains surrounded by trees and what some might consider jungle so there will be bugs at times (butterflies, moths, grasshoppers). Guest AccessYou have access to the entire unit and its surroundings on the outside. Interaction with GuestsI will be available throughout your stay if you should need anything at all.
Massages and other healing sessions are also available on the premises. Please let me know if interested in advance.
For those who are more into outdoor water and physical activities consideration should be given to a one day trip to our sister isle of Tobago. I can also arrange this. While Trinidad & Tobago is one country they are separate islands. It is best to fly there (25 mins) requiring that you return to Piarco International Airport. If interested please mention this so I can assist you in planning the most efficient trip to both islands. The NeighborhoodThere are lots of beaches, waterfalls, the Asa Wright Nature Centre (Bird watching definitely a must) and many hiking trails abound. Tours can be arranged on request in advance of your arrival.
You can also rest assured that you and your loved ones will be perfectly safe in this location. Getting AroundThe unit is located 5 minutes from the main North Coast road where public transportation is available. This includes the bus and taxis and smaller buses that take multiple passengers for about $2.00 each way.
**OF SPECIAL IMPORTANCE** Based on experience I am suggesting that guests visiting for 7-10 days or less NOT rent a car. Doing so will have you waste unnecessary time either trying to find a particular place or location or you could be stuck in traffic or both. A personal driver, mature experienced and knowledgeable tour guide can be provided for you at a reasonable rate. You get to really relax and enjoy the ride to your chosen destination. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. Share your travel details and activity interests with me and I can recommend and suggest.
Airport transfers can be arranged where I personally guarantee you and your belongings will be safe and the price won't put a dent in your pocket. Could be same driver as for your tour or different.
But renting a car is always a viable option for those wanting to experience ALL..including driving in Trinidad. Bearing in mind that this location is in the mountains consequently the road is winding which may not make it comfortable for those used to driving on flat mostly straight roads. And we also drive on the opposite side of the road (left) as opposed to North America and Northern countries. Other Things to NoteWhile the unit is equipped for cooking there are many restaurants and eating outlets available in and nearby. Please note however that most of the cuisine is traditionally local dishes. Lunch delivery can also be arranged most days for you.
Before wending your way up this North Coast..you should make a stop at the grocery store (Massy Stores Maraval) to get water, juice, snacks and whatever else you may need. But if you need to go back down that can be arranged as it is only 30 minutes to the city.
**There is no garbage pick up on the property. The pick up bin is on the main road as you leave or enter. Please take ALL trash out when there is enough to roadside bin whenever you are leaving.
Please also be mindful to clean out any hair residue in the shower drain.
