The SpaceThe guest space is a private master suite, upstairs, with a queen bed and private bathroom, vanity and shower. A clean towel, washcloth, and clean sheets are provided. Also, in a small basket under the sink, there is a hairdryer and a hair-straightener. (The guest room is in the upstairs area, if you're not good on stairs, my place may not be the right match) Go from the parking lot, go through the kitchen, past the paddle board in the dinning area, and up the stairs on the right. (Not the bathroom or bedroom on the bottom floor.) Right next to my yoga loft. It is very private and in a really quiet, safe, serene neighborhood that has a glimpse of Mobile Bay (the neighborhood has the glimpse, not my condo). At the moment, there is no TV in the guest room. I do have free wi-fi access in the condo though.
This is a 2 bedroom, 2 bath condo. My bedroom and bath are on the bottom floor, directly under the guest room. I have a yoga loft where I practice and teach yoga. If you'd like, you're welcome to use the space for yoga/pilates/martial arts/meditation. Also, downstairs is an open living/dining/kitchen space. You can see from the kitchen into the living room. It's a calm, simple and peaceful open space.
*I have Apple TV available on my living room TV, and accounts with Hulu and Netflix. You're welcome to watch either of those. There are 3 remotes:
1) Small silver one for the Apple TV (small square box on the JVC speaker).
2) The JVC remote is for the volume. ONLY push the very top right blue button that says "audio" to turn the speaker system on. That's all you need to do with that remote.
3) The Sharp remote turns on the TV. Click the top LEFT big red button to turn the power on. If the Apple TV doesn't come up, then click on the "input" button repeatedly until it puts you on Apple TV.
4)On the silver remote, click on the center silver circle button to turn it on and to go to the main menu.
*I have two large containers of ZERO filtered water. It's better than a Brita filter. Feel free to drink this water. I don't drink cold water, so there isn't any cold water in the fridge. But, you're welcome to the ice cubes in the fridge. :)
*Use of washer and dryer MAY be used by request and for an additional $5 cash, one time fee. (Otherwise, there is a laundry mat about 1 mile away called Magnolia Place.)
*Daphne is in the coveted Eastern Shore area about 15 min. outside of downtown Mobile,AL. It's extremely safe and a beautiful place to live. (Feel free to take a walk anytime you'd like, it's very safe here.) It's 13 miles from Lad-Peebles Stadium, home of the USA Jaguars. It's also about 7 miles from the famous and artsy downtown Fairhope, AL. And, it's about 55 min. (driving) to the beautiful Alabama Gulf Coast Beaches or downtown Pensacola, FL. Daphne is not set up as a tourist town (not a great walking score), but it's super adorable. My condo is about a 5 min. walk to Gator Alley and the Eastern Shore Trail/Path. In about 5 - 15 min. you can walk to:
* Hooters (10 min) (unless it's closed down)
*Zaxby's Restaurant (10 min)
*Mc Donald's (8 min.)
* 2 Older Gas stations if you need snacks (7-12 min.) Exxon and Circle K.
* Jubilee Square (Starbucks, Longhorns, O'Charelys, Pier 1, Firehouse Subs, 5 Guys Burgers/Fries, Yogurt, Fresh Market Grocery Store, Baumhower's Sports Grill and TJ Maxx (all about a 15-20 min. walk/4 min. drive). And, I'm located about a 5 min. drive from Hwy I-10/Hwy 90/Hwy 98.
*It's best to have a car here & I have a free guest parking space. My condo is about a 45-60 min. drive from Mobile and Pensacola Airports. (There is no public transport to the airport, and no Uber.)
*This area is not like any part of Alabama you've seen. You'll have to visit the quaint and artistic town of Fairhope while you're here! The Daphne area is extremely convenient if you're on your way to/from New Orleans (2.5 hr drive), Texas or to the panhandle of Florida (Destin is a 2 hr. drive). I'm just off highway I-10, so this is a great pit stop for a night or a few days. Guest AccessThe upstairs bedroom & bath, yoga space, living, dining, kitchen space are available to guests (unless I'm working from home that day. My work space is in the living/dining space. So, if that's the case, please use only your guest room space or my outdoor areas.) The downstairs bedroom and bath are for the owner only, please. Interaction with GuestsWhen I'm home, I will gladly help you get your bearings, if needed. I will likely be working and away from the condo most of the time, so I may not be available to give you tour guidance. But, I do have some maps and Things to Do brochures in the guest room. My schedule is different each day and sometimes I'm gone the entire day, while other days I'm home quite a bit working in my living room/office (URL HIDDEN) I'm pretty busy most days and likely won't be available for long interactions. Most of the time, when I have guests, I will chat with them a little bit, but spend most of the time in my own room/space. The NeighborhoodDaphne and Fairhope Alabama are little gems in southern Alabama. It's not like any part of Alabama you've seen. You'll have to visit the quaint and artistic town of Fairhope while you're here! This area is extremely convenient if you're on your way to New Orleans (2.5 hr drive), Texas or to the panhandle of Florida (Destin is a 2 hr. drive) or even on the way to Atlanta. I'm just off highway I-10, so this is a great pit stop for one night or a few days. Getting AroundIt's best to have a car here & I have several free guest parking spaces. Also, I'm about a 45-60 min. drive from Mobile and Pensacola Airports. A taxi from the airport is about $50-$75 dollars. Other Things to Note*NOTE* Please note that there is now light construction on the condos in which I live from May - July. We are preparing to have all of the condos painted, so many owners are replacing their siding, etc. 1) This makes my condos looks unsightly on the outside, but just know it's temporary please! They are normally quite cute! 2) If you'll be staying around during the daytime 9am-6pm on M-Sat., there may be some construction noises near my condo (my condo itself needs no outdoor renovations). Even though this construction is totally out of my control, I apologize in advance!
