Your own door allows you to come and go on your own schedule. Guest AccessThere is wifi internet access available. Clean linens and towels provided at beginning of stay. Guests have their own door to access their room, their own bathroom, and their own small deck. There is no access to a kitchen or other amenities at the main house. Interaction with GuestsI am very busy working in the summer months, but love to meet travelers and will help you with advice for your time in Homer if I am available. The NeighborhoodThis is a quiet neighborhood of mostly retired residents. The properties are big enough to give everybody space, but close enough to give us a community feel. It is very safe, but be careful of moose. Getting AroundIt's most convenient to have a car, but people travel by bike or by hitch hiking as well. Other Things to NoteThis is a simple room and bathroom-- no refrigerator or coffeemaker. This is a great spot for travelers looking for a cozy place to sleep, but not the best if you are planning on preparing meals.

The SpaceThe guest room was created by an artist, lots of color, comfy, and privacy. The dogs in the house are not permitted in your room, however they are in the common areas. All are well-behaved pets. They get up between 6:30-7:00 and have a walk and then breakfast. They are excited as we leave the house and a bit rambunctious, however they settle down after their walk. Guest AccessThe back door of the home is where guests enter, and the guest room is directly on the right, with a shared bathroom across the hall. Interaction with GuestsPlease text me at ((PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN) with any questions. We are happy to offer recommendations of things to do and see, along with places to dine. The NeighborhoodThe view on the drive up the hill is spectacular. You see where the mountains meet the sea, and the famous Homer Spit. The house is very private, surrounded by foliage and occasional moose. Getting AroundThe cottage is approximately two miles up the hill and out of town. The neighborhood has only a few houses. A car is recommended, but a taxi ride from the airport is only about $15. Other Things to NoteWe offer this lovely space as an economical place to sleep in Homer, with few amenities. Hot chocolate, Starbucks instant coffee and a variety of teas along with a hotpot are in the room. This accommodation is best suited for active travelers that have plans in Homer. If you are looking for a place to just hang out, this probably is not it—unless, of course, you want to hang out with the dogs in the yard! They would love it. We have an active house with dogs coming and going throughout the daytime, beginning at 8 A.M.

Guest AccessGuests have complete run of the house which includes free high speed wifi, TV/DVD, and a nice big deck with a gas grill. Interaction with GuestsWhile I do live on the property in another building, I allow my guests complete privacy while staying in the Log Cabin on the Last Frontier! The SpaceYou will be staying in a round house. Unlike yurts set up for rustic experiences, the Homer Roundhouse is totally modern and comfortable. It's, most likely, the only yurt in the world with a bay window. Guest AccessThe Homer Roundhouse is located in a small, very quiet neighborhood across the road from beach access and within walking distance of everything town has to offer. Guests love to walk the beach in the morning down to Two Sisters Bakery. Interaction with GuestsThe key is waiting for you on the kitchen table. I might say hi if I'm around when you are getting in and out of your car but mostly, I value your privacy. I am, however, next door if anything is needed. The NeighborhoodThe Homer Roundhouse has a partial view of the mountains and Kachemak Bay through some trees. Just a stones throw down the road you stand on the bluff with a view of the bay, mountains, and volcanoe. It's gorgeous. Make a fire down on the beach for sunset, you might never leave. Getting AroundIf you are fishing you'll drive to the end of the spit about 5 miles away. Other than that you can walk everywhere.

The SpaceSuper laid back and clean farmhouse atmosphere with lots of interesting activities and people coming and going, but still plenty of room to be quiet and do absolutely nothing. We are a very quick walk through the woods from downtown Homer. Bikes are available to rent on request. *PLEASE NOTE* Although this space is clearly listed as a SHARED SPACE in our listing and descriptions, we have had guests who have felt that we have not adequately disclosed that the space is indeed shared. All three sleeping spaces are located in a shared room in a shared part of the upstairs of our house. This is a quiet area in our home and is usually only visited by our family and AirBnB guests, but it is still nonetheless, a shared space. Each sleeping space is the equivalent of a large single bed or bunk. We work very hard to give guests their privacy. Our first and foremost concern is with guest comfort and with honesty and transparency. If you are looking for a private room with total seclusion from other guests and household members, this may not be the place for you. Guest AccessGuests have full access to at least one full bathroom, an amazing kitchen, all common areas, yard, and high-speed wireless internet. Modern washer and dryer are available up to one load per day. Guests may come and go via private access as desired. Private parking for 1 car is available. Interaction with GuestsIn the summertime we are usually very busy with our own projects and businesses, but on weekends or off days we might invite a guest we enjoy spending time with to come sailing, hiking or kayaking with us. Guests should expect to entertain themselves, but we are happy to offer basic advice about the community and suggest activities. The NeighborhoodVery quiet and private neighborhood nestled in the forest just north of the local high school. Kids, pets and just about anyone can roam safely and freely. We often see moose, sand-hill cranes and have many resident songbirds and squirrels. As close as you can get to town without feeling like you're in town. Getting AroundWalking anywhere in town is very easy. Bring appropriate footwear for wet and rainy climates. We have room for guests to park a car. Bikes are available for rent as well. Other Things to NotePets allowed on a case by case basis with additional cleaning and security deposit, provided they get along with our dog, chickens, pigs (summertime only), ducks and fish.

The NeighborhoodOur neighborhood is quiet and right off the main road, parceled on one to five acres. Getting AroundParking is available in front of the unit. The airport is about ten minutes away. The SpaceOur cabin is in the Cottonwoods, so IT'S A TREEHOUSE! A regular stairway leads you up to this adorable little space that has a small kitchenette complete with cold running water, microwave, toaster oven and hot pad. The living room has a wood stove that can be used, but there is propane and electric heat available. A captains' ladder leading up to the sleeping space is a loft with a queen bed. People comment on how well they sleep up there, it is dark with sweet twinkle lights that you can leave on or turn off. There is also a twin bed upstairs and a futon in the living area. Wifi and satellite TV. Upstairs from even the main living area is a commons area with a fireplace that gives a good look-out from the tree tops. The bathroom is downstairs and unattached from the treehouse, only a few steps away. It has hot/cold running water, shower, sink and commode, a nice bathroom that is shared with other cabin-dwellers on the property. There is a nice work-out set-up in our heated greenhouse. The SpaceOur home is conveniently located 3 miles east of the city of Homer. The sloped 2-acre lot offers incredible views of Kachemak Bay. The 500 square foot master suite is clean and comfortable. We live in the main level, and the master suite is situated half a level up with a private entrance. The suite has a living area with a hide-a-bed couch, a queen bed, and a walk through closet to a full bath. A small microwave, fridge and coffee maker are in the room for breakfast/light dining. The suite sleeps 4. The home is a 70's style ranch, with 80s decor, but what it lacks in cabin cozy, it makes up for in the stunning views, room between neighbors, and plenty of room outside for wandering moose and outdoor play. Guest AccessGuests get full run of the Suite, if you need access to the kitchen send me an email. We keep the suite very clean, but with 3 males around, the rest of the house goes through wild phases of chaos to clean, and quickly back to chaos. We don't mind sharing, but it may not be as clean as your space. We don't have laundry available at the house, but there is a laundromat just down the hill from us, and another in town. Interaction with GuestsWe run an oyster farm across the bay, and during the summer we are extremely busy, out and about across the bay, selling at the farmer's market, shucking at our shuck shack next to the Homer Brewing Company, or running errands around town. We will be around and available to get you settled and answer questions, but we will not be super involved hosts. Mostly you'll have lots of quiet privacy, and a great home base for exploring the area. The NeighborhoodViews from the room due east and due west reveal the mountainous head of Kachemak Bay to the east, and Cook Inlet to the west. From outside the view from the property is a sweeping, open >180 degree view of Kachemak Bay and the Kenai range with its numerous glaciers and peaks. Getting AroundYou will need a car, the property is serviced by a winding dirt road. But it's only 7 minutes to town and 15 minutes to Homer Spit. Other Things to NoteThere are walking trails just down the road from the house. And a variety of local attractions from bear viewing and glacier flights, to water taxi rides to the Kachemak Bay State Park and Wilderness area. The area is known for it's wildlife and bird viewing, and much of that can be seen from the comfort of the living area of the suite.

The SpaceThis is a log home on a small wooded peninsula of land between the slough and Kachemak Bay- right in the heart of Homer. You can use my two bikes to ride to the beach or ride to the end of the Spit or into town! Full kitchen with electric range and full size fridge. I live here part time and so the kitchen is fully stocked with spices, condiment, pots and pans etc. The living room has two picture windows looking out on some large spruce trees where a pair of bald eagles has built a nest this spring. A spiral staircase leads to the loft/bedroom which has a very comfortable Queen size silverpedic mattress and a computer connected to high speed wireless internet.. The is a bathroom has a full size tub and there is also a washer and dryer. The home is on a dead end road so it is very quiet with lots of birds. I've lived in Homer since 1986 and can suggest many lovely hikes or other activities. Guest AccessYou will have full use of kitchen and laundry. There is a private beach access. Interaction with GuestsI've lived in Homer for almost 30 years and can make suggestions of where to go and what to do, but I also respect your privacy. Often I'm traveling myself while the space is rented. The NeighborhoodThis neighborhood is a small oasis of woods and quiet on a bit of land surrounded by the Beluga Slough on one side and Kachemak Bay on the other. There are bald eagles nesting here. I drink my morning coffee on the beach almost every day, summer and winter. I like not having a view: It gets me off my duff and outside for a short walk and every time I come out of the woods onto the beach I am stunned by how beautiful it is and how very lucky I am to live here. Getting AroundThere really isn't public transportation here, but I have several bikes you may use.

A Memorable Experience is close to the best hiking trails, and only an 8 minute drive to downtown Homer and 15 minutes to the famous Homer Spit where you can catch one of the many Eco- tours, halibut charters, kayaking tours, and water taxi to the adventurous Kachemack Bay State Park. We have done several remote wedding ceremonies in various locations across the Bay. Homer is famous for its art galleries, eateries, music venues, halibut fishing, bear viewing, horseback riding and its beauty. We run an Eco-friendly establishment. If you rent the entire property, it is perfect for a small intimate wedding or family reunion.

Wild Shore Escape is a tri-level authentic log home built in 1983. It provides that cozy Alaskan ambiance with wide open views of Kachemak Bay and the Homer Spit. Just 8.5 miles East of Homer, we are located just half a mile from the Fritz Creek General Store and The Homestead Restaurant. Our cabin gives you the rustic Alaskan feel while providing modern creature comforts. If the weather is rainy, you will feel snug and comfy here. If the weather is nice you can open up the french doors and enjoy the fresh air and beautiful views. We provide 3 bedrooms plus a loft with a 1/2 bath. A continual spiral staircase connects the three floors. There is a fully equipped kitchen to meet your cooking needs while staying in Homer. The wrap around deck provides the perfect place to have your morning coffee or an evening barbeque. For a single night stay, I will add a cleaning fee of $50. We are located just a 10-15 minute drive out East from Homer and the Homer Spit. This drive offers opportunities to see more of our beautiful area, wildlife and mountain views. Our cabin sits on just over an acre of wooded land with a grassy yard and a hillside of fireweed. It is a quiet area away from the highway noises. The owner quarters are located in the detached log garage and we are there most evenings should a need arise. We have ample parking and turnaround. We are lucky to be so close to The Homestead Restaurant, one of the finest restaurants in the area. Also the Fritz Creek General Store that has convenience foods, a post office, deli and video rentals, as well as a gas station. If you drive a little further East you can take a hike at the Eveline Trail. (website: hidden)

The Garden Retreat is located a quarter of a mile from town, but high enough on East Hill to have the fabulous views of Kachemak Bay and the Kenai Mountains for which Homer is famous. You will be close to delectable eating opportunities, gift shops, the Homer Spit, Bishop's Beach, a popular bike trail, and an invigorating walk up East Hill Road! The Homer Spit with numerous halibut and salmon charter boat operations, great beaches, and shopping are approximately six miles away. Your accommodations are cozy and comfortable on grounds manicured by your host. Kit enjoys refining the gardens on the property (both for flowers and vegetables), and has created a delightful mix of the natural and the cultivated. Shooting Stars, Strawberry blossoms, and Lady's Slippers explode in the Spring; Sitka Roses, Tiger Lillys, and Delphiniums dominate in Midsummer; Fall brings a profusion of plump raspberries into the gardens while Pushki flowers are prolific on the borders of the property. The apartment was remodeled last summer and has new furnishings throughout. You have a private entrance on the east side of the building with an outdoor sitting area. The kitchen is fully equipped for eating "in" and the indoor eating area seats up to four at the dining table. The double bathrooms make it easy to share this accommodation among a family, couples, or a fishing party. Your dogs are welcome to join you during your stay at the Garden Retreat - so long as they are sociable and mannerly. We do expect you to clean up after them and we must remind you that there is a city ordinance requiring dogs in city limits to be under your control at all times. With that said, Bishop's Beach is the unofficial Dog Walking Beach in Homer, and low tide allows for some great running and companionship opportunities for you and your best friend. We look forward to sharing the delights of my hometown with you and yours. The Garden Retreat is located just minutes from the center of town. You are close enough to town to walk to visit the many exceptional art galleries Homer has to offer, minutes away from a local bike/walking path, and only seven miles from the Homer Spit with unique shopping experiences, beautiful beaches, and several charter boat companies. Charter boats will take you out for a day of fishing halibut or salmon on Kachemak Bay, water taxi services on the Spit will convey you across the bay to the Kachemak Bay State Park for hiking and camping, and ferries are available for sightseeing around the bay as well as transportation to and from Seldovia (a delightful side trip). The Alaska Islands and Oceans Visitor Center located on the Homer By-Pass offers visitors opportunities to learn and interact with "the largest seabird refuge in the world." Homer's Pratt Museum provides insight into the "Art, Science and Culture of Kachemak Bay." Everyone will enjoy the fish feeding that takes place at the Pratt on Tuesday and Friday from 4-5 P.M.! Ample parking for guests' vehicles is available on premise.
