The SpaceWe aim to please you. Feel free to ask us if there is a way we can accommodate your needs. If you want privacy or interaction let us know.
Our spot gives you a real taste of Alaska without even having to travel. We have hosted gatherings in our home for years while we were raising our children. Now that they are grown we are ready to share our treasured spot with those who are traveling to the area or locals needing a change of scenery, those wanting to fish (we are on the best fishing lake in the valley), play on the water, ice fish, skate, or just enjoy the specatular view.
Need a quick place to stay on the way to Denali, Talkeetna, Fairbanks, etc? In town for a wedding or to visit family or friends? Need a place to get away and relax, fish, read, play indoors or out, go sight seeing in the area for a day or two, or a week? We live on the largest lake in our area as well as the best fishing lake in the entire valley!! Enjoy our large rock garden with Arctic alpine plants from Alaskan mountain ranges and even a few from China. We are happy to share our casual, sweet lakefront home with you! Guest AccessThe three bedrooms are upstairs with a full bath. Breakfast/Boardgame/Trip Planning/Visiting Room with a gorgeous lakefront view. Downstairs are our friendly cozy common areas: family room (sleeping option), living room, kitchen, large deck, backyard, large dock, and a canoe for use on one of the largest lakes in our area. Interaction with GuestsI will be available for friendly conversations and to answer questions about the area. We love meeting new people, and we are just as pleased to give you your privacy if that is what you need. Let us know your needs, while you are here or before you arrive. The NeighborhoodWe are right outside of Wasilla core area, which makes it close to stores, yet we are on a lake and far enough away to give a fantastic Alaskan experience. Because of the lake and woodsy area, the view is spectacular year round. We can see a little of the mountains also.
In the summer feel free to use out canoe to enjoy the scenery or go fishing during your stay. We have beach towels, and a large dock with lounge chairs, and a floating dock. A small donation is appreciated for the use of our canoe, life jackets, and floating dock.
Fall brings our breath taking golden leaves. The lake view is absolutely gorgeous. It is also a very popular time to fish on the lake and go sight seeing while visiting family for the Thanksgiving holiday.
Winter brings the Iditarod and the Ice Classics in Fairbanks. Ice fishing is very popular - just ten feet from our dock is the best spot on the lake. Getting AroundTrain station, cars rentals, boat rentals in nearby Wasilla center.
Restaurants, grocery store, gas station, bus stop 9 minutes away. Other Things to NoteFeel free to roam our property and enjoy it as much as you like.
Our home is great for many sceneries:
We are close to the Iditarod Start.
We are on the way to Denali. Great place to stay between the Anchorage airport and heading to Denali the next day.
We are in the center of several things: Anchorage, Palmer, Wasilla, Talkeetna, Denali, and Fairbanks. Check it out on the map! This is a great place to stay whether you only have a few days or you have a few weeks.

We have a medium sized kennel available upon request if you would like your pet to be in your room. Please no pets allowed to roam in the home, yet you are welcome to keep them in your or my crate.
