The SpaceThe home is fully equipped. Just bring your groceries, settle in, and enjoy a truly special visit to this lovely part of the world. Included in your stay is a complimentary wine-tasting for two (with souvenir wine-glasses) at one of our local wineries. This spacious, magical vacation home sits high above scenic, historic Page Springs, below ancient Sinagua Indian ruins, looking down on the meandering Oak Creek Valley with its abundant, green cottonwood forest. The 2.5 acre property is bordered by Coconino National Forest to the south and to the west. They say Page Springs today is "like Sedona used to be, 20 years ago." Sedona is often noisy, traffic-infested and anything but peaceful. But, drive a mere 8 miles and you are in a high-desert paradise, the heart of Sedona's famous wine country, with easy access to Sedona, Oak Creek Canyon, Jerome (the famous ghost town - think Halloween 365 days a year!) Tuzigoot National Monument, Old Town Cottonwood, prehistoric petroglyph sites, and numerous other natural and historic wonders. There is a comfortable fold-out couch in the living room, that sleeps two adults for an additional charge. We will happily split the king beds into two twins if needed. Well behaved mature pets are welcome, with pet deposit, but are not to be left alone in the home. Children over 5 are welcome. We provide complimentary wireless internet and long-distance telephone service within the 50 states. Cell phone service can be a little sketchy, especially if you have coverage other than Verizon. You can learn much more about us, the home, the amenities, and the surrounding area by exploring the website of our former B&B. Search for "Page Springs Bed and Breakfast." You will be staying at the "Upper House." Please do not try to make a reservation on the B&B website. We are no longer in the B&B business, and are now booking strictly through AirBnB. Guest AccessYou will have the entire house to yourselves. Connie and Andrew are writers, public speakers and filmmakers who travel most of the time. The only off-limits areas are the garage and the locked outdoor storage area in the back. Interaction with GuestsIf we are traveling, you will be greeted by our property manager, Ingrid. She will give you the tour of the house and the property, make sure you have all the information you need, and then leave you in peace and privacy to enjoy your stay. Ingrid lives close by, and is available in the event of any questions or emergencies. The NeighborhoodPage Springs is Sedona's best-kept secret. It's convenient to everything, yet has a peaceful, rustic feeling that you will not find in Sedona itself. We are just 1.5 miles from three popular wineries. From the house, you can hike down to the bridge over Oak Creek, and find yourself sitting on the banks an idyllic river, before stopping in at the famous Page Springs Restaurant [now Up The Creek Grill & Bar] for a meal or a libation. For the more adventurous, you can hike into Coconino National Forest directly adjoining our property, climb up to the mesa above, and marvel at the 50-odd Sinagua Indian ruins up there. The view from the mesa is absolutely stunning! Page Springs Road has recently received a national scenic/historic designation. It leads from Route 89A past our home, directly to the famous local wineries, including Page Springs Cellars, Oak Creek Winery and Javelina Leap Winery, 1.5 miles down the road. Sedona, with its world-famous Red Rocks and other delights, is an easy ten-minute drive to the north, while picturesque Old Town Cottonwood is ten minutes to the south. If you have never visited a ghost town in the Old West, Jerome, with its 5-star restaurant "The Asylum," lies just 25-minutes to the south of Page Springs. You can even take a day trip to the Grand Canyon or the Hopi Indian reservation. We are truly at the center of a "spiral of wonders!" Getting AroundWe recommend that you have your own transportation, although taxi and airport shuttle services are available. On the other hand, you can easily hike or bicycle down to the Bubbling Ponds birding area, Oak Creek bridge, and the famous Page Springs Restaurant (now re-named "Up The Creek Grill & Bar.") The wineries begin half a mile beyond the bridge, after the Fish Hatcheries. Other Things to NoteLost & Found: If you leave any items behind and you would like us to ship them back to you, we will contact you and ask for your credit card information. The SpaceGrace Grove Retreat Center is a 5500 sq.foot building with 7 guest rooms, a large beautiful kitchen, wrap around living room with plenty of lounging room, a large porch with couches and eating table for 18 people. There are 3 indoor bathrooms that are along the same hall as the bedrooms and a separate full bathroom in a small building just outside from the rooms (our team members use this bathroom but it is open for all to use). This separate bathroom also has an enclosed outdoor shower and bathtub on the backside of the building (during winter months this may turned off so pipes don’t freeze). We also have a 550 sq. foot Yoga Barn with a wood burning stove if your group needs a separate meeting space. There is also a roof top porch that is GREAT for star gazing at night. There are 5 indoor rooms; 1 larger room with a king bed, 4 smaller rooms with 2 twin beds in each room. Currently 2 of the twin rooms are made up as king beds. We use a 3” organic wool king topper to unify the 2 twin beds to make them into a king bed. Just let us know how you want those rooms, as 2 twins or 1 king. We also have 2 outdoor “Garden” rooms which are enclosed rooms but are not on the central air conditioning or heating system. These rooms have space heaters and fans and can be used all year round although they don’t get toasty warm, but very cozy sleeping in them during the winter and warm during the day and wonderful sleeping conditions at night during the winter. These rooms have 1 double bed in each room. The rooms have organic mattresses and locally crafted wood furniture to ensure that there are no forms of toxins in the environment. Our team consists of my husband Morgan and I, and we have a suite on the opposite end of the facility. We also have 3 staff members who live in trailers on the property. Our goal is to create a sacred space for your group to have as much fun and privacy as possible. Because we still have a property and facility to maintain and we live on-site you will see some of us pop in and out of the kitchen or be on the land working. We will be quiet little helpers in the background that you may see every once in awhile. The kitchen tends to be to be grand central station for most groups. It is a very beautiful kitchen and well equipped. We will clear out a large refrigerator for your group and you will have plenty of space for dry products as well. The kitchen drawers and cabinets are labeled well since it is a community kitchen that is heavily used. Our team members will be very mindful to ease in and out of the kitchen around your group. When we are in the kitchen, we will support your group by helping to put away some dishes, wipe down counter tops, take trash out and basic cleaning. We do ask that your group please wash their own dishes and clean up after themselves. You will need to bring all your own food unless we have made other arrangements for our team to provide food/meals for your group. The center has central heating and air-conditioning. In the fall and winter months we have a wood burning stove in the main hall that heats up the house very well. Either our team members will keep the stove going throughout the day and night or we will ask that you designate someone from your crew to be the “fire keeper”. There is a T.V room with cable and a DVD player and wifi is available. One of the most spectacular things about this property is that Oak Creek wraps 3/4 around the property. It is a lush 25 acre Oasis in the desert. We loved the setting with the fruit trees and creek running behind. We ate every meal we could on the covered porch and also sat on the lookout upstairs. The location was excellent for visiting Sedona (20 mins), Flagstaff, Jerome, the Verde Canyon railroad and a day's drive from the Grand Canyon. We also enjoyed a wine tasting just minutes from the property. Our host Chris and his son Christian were very helpful but not intrusive. The cottage is very attractive with art on the walls, several small sculptures and artistic ornaments. The kitchen and bathroom were very well equipped. It had a cosy feel and we felt at home there. Recommended for:  Age 55+, Girls Getaway, Sightseeing, Romantic Getaway Most Recent Review From : AZ FAN Oregon, IL Review Submitted: April 27, 2011 Date of Stay: April 2011 My husband picked the perfect place for our stay near Sedona. The cottage was clean, spacious, comfortable and quiet. The grounds and hiking trails by the springs were beautiful and relaxing. We traveled to Jerome, Prescott, Sedona, Flagstaff and even the Grand Canyon during our 5 day stay. We also had a great meal in Cornville and attended a fun wine tasting at one of the wineries located wtihin a mile or two of the cottage. The owner was very pleasant and helpful and the three outdoor areas were nice with tables and chairs to have a meal or relax and oversee the property. I would definitely recommend this place to travelers, friends or relatives. Susan and Derek Toronto Review Submitted: May 9, 2011 Date of Stay: April 2011 We spent two weeks at this delightful cottage at the beginning of April 2011. A quaint rock wall trail leads you down to a year-round swimming and fishing hole. There are small pools and rapids 100 yards upstream to explore. Several short hiking trails exist in the subdivision, including one on Oak Creek and one on Spring Creek (a small perennial fresh-water creek). There's a lovely park for children in the subdivision. There is a community hot tub, sauna, and swimming pool (summer only from mid-May to mid-October, actual dates vary). There is also a sauna that is open all year. Sycamore Springs, like Sedona, is a destination place. The GIRDNER TRAILS END SUITE is located on the upper floor of Sycamore Springs Guest House on a historic ranch outside of Sedona, and features Rustic Old West décor. The deck offers a view of both ponds through a canopy of trees, and features table seating for two and a gas BBQ grill. Knotty pine interiors give this suite the feel of a cabin but with extra attention given to comfort and privacy. The black cast iron gas stove keeps the suite toasty on cool evenings and remote controlled air-conditioning maintains a refreshing coolness during hot summer days. Aged barn wood furniture conveys the “Spirit of the West” as you relax in your choice of leather sofa and chair, rocking chair, or upholstered recliner. Satellite TV, entertainment center, and a desk with wireless Internet offer convenience amidst the cowboy ambiance. The bedroom features a King-size Sealy Posturpedic bed with plush bedding and a huge picture window that overlooks the grounds. The fully-equipped kitchen includes a dishwasher and table and chair set for two, and is decorated with artifacts from this historic ranch. The living room and bathroom feature Old West theme wallpapers and borders. The bathroom has a tree-top view, and is decorated with rustic horseshoe towel bars and accents. Plenty of screened windows bring in sunshine and fresh air during spring and fall and you can fall asleep to the sounds of the babbling brook below. A large hot tub is available for private soaks in another building on the property as well as day use rooms with great views of the ponds. Many seating areas allow for various opportunities to relax and let the stresses of your world fade away to the sounds of water falling and birds singing as well as views of gardens blooming and cows grazing. Sorry, but we cannot accommodate pets or young children.
