Smoke-Free, Pet Free. Minimum length of stay 4-6 days (depending upon the season). The property resides inside the gates of the acclaimed Lodge at Ventana Canyon Resort community. Ask us about short term membership options for use of the Spa, Fitness, Pool and Dining rooms (breakfast, lunch and dinner). Visitors describe this as an absolutely magical place. What separates this property from other rentals, besides the phenomenal views, is the quiet and privacy. Despite being within the Ventana community, the private drive and 3.6 acre lot, and the way it's situated in the mountains, allows for a feeling of a complete get-away. Other homes may be in the mountains, but often have neighbors and roads so close that you hear cars, dogs barking, landscapers, etc. With views that extend to the edges of the surrounding Tucson mountain ranges and beyond you can enjoy Golf course, lake, and national park views right from the three decks and patio. If you're going through the adventure to rent a home, why not stay in a place that you'll never forget? Martha Stewart (no kidding!) visited and just loved it. Quiet, secure, private and safe, the 3.6 acre property features 24/7 guarded, video-monitored entrance through the Lodge at Ventana Canyon and a separate, private drive with gate to the house. Full, monitored security system and ANSI-level 1&2 locks & security doors. The Lodge at Ventana Canyon has extensive facilities, including a resort pool with bar, Olympic sized, heated pool with pool house and cabanas. Golf (ranked in the top 75 in North America), Tennis (ranked in the top 50 in the world). Ask us about Spa and Dining availability and guest member rates. This can be set-up prior to your arrival. This is a full-time, rental property, not our residence, so it's free of clutter and personal effects. High-end electronics, fast internet/802.11 ac/n wi-fi, and nice decor. Three bedrooms, one king in the master and your choice of two extra-long twin beds or king beds in the other two bedrooms. One full bath with two-person jetted-tub separate from (two person, two-head walk-in) shower. One three-quarter bath (shower, no tub), and one half-bath. Full bath connects to master bedroom, and 3/4 bath connects both to a bedroom and living room. The two showers have (head-height) windows which open to the outside. Full kitchen (with cleaning supplies, spices and condiments). Laundry room with various soaps, cleaning supplies, rags and an iron. 2.5 car garage with tools, bags and an extra refrigerator/freezer. No noisy neighbors or roads. The input from dozens of past renters has taught us to furnish the home with extensive amenities. Precise attention to details to make the home highly functional. Just a few of the examples include: propane grill, a computer desk, bedroom mirrors, alarm clocks, high-end portable wi-fi speaker system, surge protector strips in each bedroom so you don't have to reach behind furniture to plug in, a small table to set things on near the front door, rags, cleaning supplies, shampoo, soap, tissues, candles, dimmers on most of the lights for creating moods, a small tool kit, first aid kit, and so much more. The house has original artwork, custom mirrors, and new, solid wood furniture. It includes a custom, comprehensive renter's guide with instructions on the operation of the house, appliances and entertainment, room-by-room inventory list, along with information of attractions and the best dining. Rates can be negotiated if the house is within the near term (last minute availability). You’re out of luck if you’re looking for the standard cheesy Southwestern décor found in most Tucson homes—there’s no orange carpet and cactus paintings here! Welcome to The Modern Desert. Located in Tucson’s upscale Northwest side, this 2 bedroom luxury town home features all the amenities you could ask for, plus tons of unique features you won’t find anywhere else, including a game room complete with pool table, juke box and an old school arcade machine; a “Fiesta Room,” decked out with authentic Mexican “cerveza” items, and a modern outdoor lounge, perfect for enjoying drinks and sunsets with friends. The town home includes cable TV, high-speed WiFi, 2-car garage, washer and dryer, access to community pool (heated year round) and Jacuzzi, security system, home office, and skylights throughout the house, providing tons of natural light. Palm tree-lined, cobble stone streets lead you through a meticulously manicured desert landscape, to your townhome. Here’s a breakdown of each room: Bedroom 1: Spacious master includes a queen bed, wall-mounted flat screen TV, blu-ray player, spacious his and hers closets and its own bathroom. There is access to the Fiesta Room and beautiful desert views from the master bedroom. Bedroom 2: Good-sized guest room features all new bedroom furniture, including a new queen bed. There's a flat screen TV on the wall, plenty of drawers, closet and ceiling fan. Guest/main bathroom: The main bathroom was remodeled in 2011 and features a bath tub and shower. The stainless steel backsplash and dimmable lights complete the sexy look of this cool kitchen. Adjacent to the kitchen is a small dining area with table and four chairs. Living Room: More like a “museum,” the focal point of the living room is the “Louis Armstrong” wall. A 15’ by 30’ tribute to this jazz pioneer will have you mesmerized for hours. Even if you’re not a jazz fan, anyone will appreciate the history and stories on the wall, which includes autographed pictures, gold records, original concert programs and retro magazine spreads. Modern tables, lamps and a sofa complete the room. Game room: Perhaps why most people choose to stay at The Modern Desert is because of its game room, which offers hours of fun for all ages. Dad can play pool, while the kids can take turns at a real stand-up arcade game that features of 2,500 classic video games; all while jamming out to tunes on the jukebox. The Fiesta Room: Inspired by the owner’s love for Mexican beer, entering the Fiesta Room feels more like stepping foot into an authentic bar on a small street in Mexico. From the Corona brand table and chairs to the giant Tecate beer stand, The Fiesta Room is an authentic taste of old Mexico. Real rustic beer signs that once hung in holes-in-the-wall south of the border, now call The Fiesta Room their home. Enjoy an ice cold Pacifico or DosEquis in the Fiesta Room, or serve the family dinner in this spacious, fun, multi-purpose room, all while enjoying spectacular views of the Sonoran desert. The Outdoor lounge: When the temperature permits, spend some time in front of The Modern Desert, relaxing in our outside lounge. Watch wildlife pass by while on chilling out on our modern outdoor furniture. Outdoor lighting compliments the copper tiles walls, agave plants, boulders and custom concrete work. Garage: Our two-car, automatic garage not only keeps your cars out of the sun, but is also home to a new washer and dryer. Extra storage cabinets are handy for storing your luggage or anything else you prefer to keep out of sight. Pool and Jacuzzi: Just steps away from your living quarters is a beautiful desert oasis. This large swimming pool is heated year-round, making any season the perfect time for a swim. There is also a fantastic Jacuzzi, great for soaking your tired bones after a long Arizona hike. Enjoy lounge chairs, a covered area (great for outdoor meals), and even a ping-pong table. Paddles and balls are stored in your closet, inside the house. If you prefer to choose and book your own campsite directly with Catalina Park, let me know and I will reduce the daily rate by the daily cost of the site. There is a picnic table and outdoor charcoal grill at each campsite. This campground does not allow campfires. Interaction with GuestsWe live only 5 miles away and can be available very quickly if needed. The NeighborhoodThe camper will be set up for you in Catalina State Park. I do not have any "ownership" or direct relationship with the campground, so availability of the camper is very dependent upon the availability of a campsite for your requested dates. Once I receive your inquiry, I check for an available site and accept or decline your request based on availability at the campground. Tucked back in the quiet foothills of Pusch Ridge it does not feel like you are in the city. But just across the street is a shopping center with many restaurants, grocery and retail shopping, and a movie theater. The heart of Tucson is an easy 10-minute drive down Oracle Road. Other Things to NoteSince the camper's availability is dependent on availability at the campground, it is advisable to plan ahead as much as possible if you need specific dates. Reserve winter and spring dates at least three weeks in advance for best availability. I will always take short-notice reservations when the campground has matching availability. (I have no direct association with the campground) Average High/Low temps for Oct-Apr are: Oct 85/60, Nov 75/50, Dec 65/40, Jan 65/40, Feb 70/45, Mar 75/50, Apr 80/55.
