About 10 minutes from the natural elements (Kern River Gorge) where we can take you on a guided rock climbing or river rappel tour, and a mile or two from Lake Ming where you can enjoy a quiet sail or afternoon of kayaking. The heart of Bakersfield lies directly to the West where, within minutes one can enjoy the city culture and nightlife (Murphy's Irish Pub, the famous Fox Theater, or a slew of fine culinary hot-spots).
We are also centrally located to many travel destinations, including Las Vegas, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Monterey Bay, Big Sur, Moro Bay, Paso Robles/Sonoma Valley/Napa Valley wine country, Sequoia National Forest, Sequoia National Park, Kings Canyon National Park, and Yosemite National Park. We are within 5 hours of all of these places! Getting AroundWe will happily take you into town where there are taxi & Uber services, public bus transit systems, a intercity railway, etc. Other Things to NoteOur guided tours include all transportation and food costs (excluding alcohol), as well as full supply of all necessary gear. Tours range from rock-climbing and rappelling activities, to day hiking, to extended backpacking trips, to camping, to waterfall climbing, to big mountain summits including Yosemite's iconic Half Dome, Mount Whitney (tallest peak in continental U.S.), Mount Dana (Yosemite National Park), Glenn Pass (Kings Canyon National Park), or Alta Peak (Sequoia National Park). Other (more tamed) activities include driving to the Giant Sequoia Redwood trees (the largest in the world), seeing the wildlife of the mountain wilderness, exploring a mountain cave, short hikes to California's most breath-taking vistas and viewing some of the worlds tallest and largest waterfalls. The activities vary to accommodate a wide range of ages and interests. We also have activities suited for children.
