Beach Towels, folding chairs and umbrellas are stored in the bike hut also. Small pets welcome. Free private or street parking. CONTACT & ASSISTANCE:I am in and out of the gallery, but am always on call for guests concerns., and am generally around weekends during the day. OUR LITTLE PIECE of HEAVEN:A Landmark Building, near Mavericks Big Wave Beach, a short 3 block walk or bike ride to Pillar Point Harbor Marina Sea Food & Shops! The local yacht club is a few doors down, and there are boat and equipment rentals close by. Amazing hiking on the pillar point bluff to hidden beaches, wildlife & Birdwatching.Princeton by the Sea, where the property is located, about 9 square blocks in size, was the original center for crab & general commercial fishing in the Bay Area, and still is mostly Boat repair, crab trap storage, the Yacht Club, boat rentals, and other marine related businesses or local artists. There is no commercial manufacturing allowed, and generally businesses must be marine or art related, like my gallery. Basically Pillar Point is a working Harbor, with a few artists & craftspeople in residence. The "Romeo Pier" in front of our property was the unloading point for fisherman's catch since the early 1800s. Many of the "crabbers" have gone, and the community is slowly turning back into the small creative enterprise, private residence & artist colony, that it was back in the 1920's through the 1960's, when many famous artists and musicians lived in the old warehouses. We are continually working to beautify the old buildings & general area, particularly the 3 blocks of beach road between the Harbor Marina, and West Point Beach where we are located; so that hopefully soon, there won't be as much of a contrast between the two areas, without having Princeton be "touristy" like the Marina. Sometimes it's interesting to get out of your normal environment, and experience something completely different, and that is why I was so taken with the property. Also it is the closest building to Mavericks Big Wave surfing beach, which to surfing enthusiasts is what a cozy chalet at the foot of Mt Everest would be to avid climbers. We have a lot of water sports and fishing activity in the harbor, as well as wonderful hiking on the Point & bird watching at the estuary across the street.GETTING AROUND: Marina is a just 3 blocks walk, or take the bikes! There is a new bike path that goes all the way down the coast to Half Moon Bay, about 3 miles south. Our vacation rentals are located in a landmark building, noted for it's unusual architectural style. Situated at the far west end of Princeton by the Sea, the closest private building to Pillar Point and the Mavericks Big Wave Surfing competition. The beach is virtually right outside the door! Princeton is a quaint Harbor & Marina where the local fishermen sell their catch right off the boats every day. The marina has quite a few good restaurants, and is about 3 blocks from our location. It's scenic walk or bike ride over, past boat yards, and crab traps, the yacht club, and a few stray cats. On the far side is a new mini shopping mall that offers books, ice cream coffee, postcards, some beach wear, souvenirs, etc.. The town of Half Moon Bay is about 4 miles south, and has a wonderful main street with additional shopping, great bakeries, and art galleries. San Francisco is about 20 miles north along the gorgeous coastline, through our new Devil's Slide tunnel.

The SpaceMy condo is spacious with two bathrooms and cathedral celings in the livingroom and master bedroom. A guest (s) would use the bedroom next to the master bedroom with a queen-size bed and its own private full bath, and a small deck and access to the kitchen. In addition for a single guest, there is a smaller room with a twin bed. *The facilities are shared with the owner. As an upstairs unit, there are two decks that afford privacy. My unit has a single car garage and a carport that a guest can use if driving a rental car. As a coastal area, it is necessary to have a car although I am willing to provide some limited transportation and at an additional cost, sightseeing trips can be easily set up (use to those coming from another state or another country). For the first night, I can supply dinner, if needed. and a daily continental breakfast. From my condo and easily within a short walk, a guest can quickly reach the coastal path which circles a large golf course. If guests want to see the coastal areas of Northern California, Half Moon Bay is a good starting point. It is a small town with a variety of restaurants, a lovely habor, great biking paths or hiking paths with adjacent redwoods. Santa Cruz and Monterey are both easily reached by car for day trips, although the later is about a 2 hour drive south of my location. San Francisco is only about 25 minutes north, but our local rail system (Bart) can take one downtown or across the bay. Daily ferry trips (from San Francisco) can take one across the bay to visit Sausalito or Tibueron. The wine country is about 2 hours north of my area. When requesting to be a guest, please include the following information. Also, you need to be verified prior to booking. 1) A brief desciption of yourself and your companion (if the booking is for 2). 2.) The purpose of your trip and what you might like to do while staying on the coast. 3) Any additional imformation needed to make your stay a comfortable one. Guest AccessGuests will get a key. Interaction with GuestsInteracting with my guests as much or as little as the time and purpose of their trip permits is a our prolicy. My boyfriend and I have traveled a great deal, so sharing different cultural views is a stimulating experience for me. The NeighborhoodYou can walk to the beach in less than 5 minutes, and the Ritz Carlton is a very short walk. It has a large, scenic golf course along the cliffs and the coastal path. Downtown historic Half Moon Bay is 2 miles. Redwood Forests and great hiking is within 5-10 miles. Getting AroundBeing on the coast, bus transportation exists but is limited. Guests need their own car unless I have made a special arrangement with them to set up sightseeing trips (if I am available). Also, I live within a very short walk to the Ritz Carlton by the sea, so hotel pick up can be arranged with any tour company. Other Things to NoteI do not rent to people with pets or childen under the age of 12.

This is our residence so we are usually home. The NeighborhoodEl Granada is a beautiful coastal town. Attractions located here include a pier, harbor, restaurants, cafes, shops, and beautiful beaches. Surfing, kayaking, horseback-riding, golfing, fishing, and more are all within a short distance of our home. There are also many miles of beautiful hiking and mountain biking trails nearby from bluff tops to redwood forests to open hills with spectacular views. Half Moon Bay is four miles south and San Francisco is twenty miles north. Getting AroundPublic transportation is not recommended beyond Half Moon Bay or Pacifica. This is because of the long times it takes to get to places. For example getting to San Francisco would require a bus transfer and take over 2 hours. Other Things to NoteOur listing is frequently blocked throughout the year to accommodate friends and family. We have two cats on the property. They are strictly outdoor cats. They are never in the downstairs unit and are rarely let in to our home. Two night minimum stay when booking on Fri or Sat night.

Have a relaxing night's sleep lulled by the sound of the sea. Located at the far west end of the marina area, we are far enough away from the fog horn so that it is not a problem for light sleepers, and for the most part can't be heard at all. There are 2 bicycles also available on a first come first serve basis, as Courtyard may be shared other visitors to the property. Beach chairs, umbrellas, etc are stored in the courtyard. Interaction with Guests I am in and out of the gallery, but am always on call for guests concerns., and am generally around weekends during the day. The Neighborhood A architectural landmark, near Mavericks Big Wave Beach, a short 3 block walk or bike ride to Pillar Point Harbor Marina Sea Food & Shops! The local yacht club is a few doors down, and there are boat and equipment rentals close by. Amazing hiking on the pillar point bluff to hidden beaches, wildlife & Birdwatching. Princeton by the Sea, where the property is located, about 9 square blocks in size, was the original center for crab & general commercial fishing in the Bay Area, and still is mostly Boat repair, crab trap storage, the Yacht Club, boat rentals, and other marine related businesses or local artists. We have a lot of water sports and fishing activity in the harbor, as well as wonderful hiking on the Point & bird watching at the estuary across the street. Getting around Marina is an easy walk, or take the bikes! There is a new bike path that goes all the way down the coast to Half Moon Bay, about 3 miles south. Other Things to Note Beach Towels, folding chairs and umbrellas are available, as well as a picnic basket. Families with smaller children (under 7yrs), Pets, or special needs, please Email me so we can discuss features that may or may not work for you. Free street parking. No parties or loud music. The SpaceOur house is perfect for kids since we have toys, books, climbing structure, trampoline, etc in a gated safe backyard. We have a piano if you like to play. This is our home. We have room for multiple cars in the driveway. Guest AccessOur home is your home. You may use our bikes, scooters, and other toys. We have a guest room that is not connected to the house which is a nice fourth bedroom and has a bunk bed in it if you would like more places to sleep. The only thing we ask you do not use are our surfboards. (If I am home I will likely let you borrow some good beginner boards if you want to have a go. We actually have a surf camp part of the summer and teach surfing) Interaction with GuestsThis depends when you are here. We are offering our house while my wife and kids are in Germany. I will be here much of the time. We have an Airstream Trailer next to the house where I will stay. When I am not here, my Mother will be around - she lives a block away. She will come over to feed the animals (unless you would prefer to do it yourself) I look forward to telling you our favorite places to eat, escape down the coast, etc. We also have a surf camp in the summer for our students. If you would like and I am around I could provide surf instruction for you and your family (for an extra fee). The NeighborhoodFrom our house you can walk to the beach, to the cute historic downtown Half Moon Bay, superb restaurants, skateboard park, playground, farm stand, driving range (golf), super markets (including New Leaf - yay), and more. Getting AroundEasy parking. Great Bike Paths. Walking distance to everything you need. No public transport. Other Things to NoteThe main thing to note is that we have pets. We have two rabbits, a cat, and two guinea pigs. The guinea pigs may or may not be here as they might live elsewhere for the summer. I will take care of the animals or have someone else do it (likely my Mother) while you are here, unless you would prefer to feed them yourself. We have a BBQ and a brand new induction range - enjoy! We also have wifi.

The NeighborhoodWith wine tasting, mountain hikes, beach days, city life, horse back riding, coastal highway drives, all accessible from the quaint town of Half Moon Bay, you really have the best vantage point in the entire Bay Area. Check out this write-up from (website hidden)... Incorporated in 1959, Half Moon Bay offers a wide variety of public and private attractions. The City rests on the Pacific Coast between forested hills and some of the most beautiful coastlines that California has to offer. It is located approximately 28 miles south of San Francisco and lies within the westernmost portion of San Mateo County. The historic downtown is home to numerous shops, art galleries, restaurants, bed and breakfasts, and other businesses. Local beaches and parks can be accessed by pedestrians, bicyclists and equestrians. Golf can be enjoyed at two of California's finest courses. The City and coastside are home to numerous nurseries and farms. The Pumpkin Festival held in October draws hundreds of thousands of people to the coast to enjoy its panoramic vistas, fine cuisine, arts, crafts and genuine hospitality. Temperatures are mild and the valleys are rich. Half Moon Bay and the coastside are proud of their agriculture & floriculture center where roadside stands sell locally grown fruit, artichokes, greens, root vegetables, beans and herbs. You cannot top the fresh seafood available everywhere in restaurants or to take home and prepare yourself. Residents of this charming community live a lifestyle that many think no longer exists in California. Neighbors care about each other, schools are important, and there is a sense of real community. Getting AroundRegular buses leave the coast for major transportation centers, including CalTrain and BART. Coast cab companies and an Enterprise Car Rental are located in town. San Francisco Airport is a 20 minutes drive, and there is a small local airport as well as a harbor. Other Things to NoteThe apartment includes free wireless internet, access to a large screen plasma with Apple TV, a musical instruments and board games closet, a secret hidden bookcase closet for extra storage, a cedar closet to keep your clothes fresh, climate control located in the apartment, shared free laundry, dedicated parking, and a free bottle of Santa Cruz wine with every rental. Enjoy the sixty-foot long deck, private yard, Weber BBQ, fire-pit, and access to the coastal bike trail located steps away. Our family of five, including three children ages 2, 4, and 9 is looking forward to having you.
