Don't hesitate to call for any reason. We want to make your stay as pleasent as possible. The NeighborhoodTo begin, step out the front door and immediately step back into the 1800's at the time where Jamestown was just evolving as, Tuolumne County's "Rocca Park" hosts one of the county's original jails just paces from our front door.
The park itself features a newly refurbished gazebo, a playground, jungle gym and swings for the kids along with tables, benches and BBQ's for family picnics. During the late spring an summer months the park is host to "music in the park" on selected weekends, which you can enjoy from the house's front yard as it is only only steps away.
Take a few more steps to Jamestown's Main Street and your in the middle of town. Stay here and you can catch the bus to Yosemite National Park. With trips twice a day, its so convenient you can't help but take advantage.
Next door...Pete's Greek American Cuisine. Pete and his wife, Vaso are so nice, you won't want to miss their hospitality or their hearty portions.
In either direction you'll find numerous antique and vintage furniture shops. Our favorite... the "Blue Sky Market."
Also very convenient, Barendregt's Grocery Store.
Just up the block, "The Willow" steakhouse and bar while just down the street, "The Jamestown Hotel" (restaurant and bar) "The National Hotel" restaurant and bar), The Gypsy Shack (bar) and across the Hwy 108, "The Rawhide" country saloon.
Also within walking distance, several barber shops including; "Jamestown Hair Company" (located just behind the house).
However, one of our favorite attractions is, "Stogies Gold Country Cigar Lounge." About 50 yards from the house, this cigar lounge features great music, great atmosphere, and a great selection of beer, wines, bourbons, whiskeys, scotches and of course cigars. Owned by a couple, Phil and Cindy, from our neck of the woods (The Central Coast) this is "a must visit location" for us, when we are in town.
Are you a wine enthusiast? "The Inner Sanctum Cellars" is a fantastic winery with a tasting room so close to the house you can't help but enjoy yourself. Pete and Karen will take you on a tour of elaborately made wines while you enjoy great company and a beautiful venue.
Also a local winery, rich in the traditional Italian culture and wine making skill, "Gianelli's" winery is another great location with a large selection to taste from and a beautiful venue. Getting AroundWhile we've mentioned so many great thing to do in town, we have yet to mention that only a 10 minute walk away you'll find Jamestown's own “Rail Town.” One of California’s most visited state parks and host to last remaining, in service steam engines, the most famous being, “Old number 3.” Used in over 100 Hollywood productions, the No. 3's film and television credits include, "High Noon," "The Virginian," "Back to the Future, III," "Unforgiven," "Bad Girls," "Petticoat Junction," "The Wild, Wild West," and "Little House on the Prairie."
