    The SpaceAvailable for short-term or long-term stays is a spacious, beautiful 5-bedroom house tucked into the sunny, luscious hills of La Canada, Flintridge. I live here alone, but often go away for periods of time and would love to share my wonderful space with people visiting the area. The house was built in the 1950's and has retained it's authentic architecture, though updating and renovating has taken place over the years. Included in the rental is 5 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, a living room, a den/library/TV room, a big kitchen perfect for accommodating your cooking experiences, a dining room, a front yard with plenty of parking space and a view of the mountains, a backyard with views of downtown LA, a little backyard yard space, and a pool with slide and diving board to cool-off in. There is central air, heat, two working fireplaces and a washer/dryer on the premises. La Canada is a very peaceful, restful part of LA County, with beautiful homes, hikes, sun, and easily accessible amenities, with just a short 1.5 mile drive down the mountain to Foothill Blvd. Just off the 210 fwy, the Glendale 2 fwy, a 10-minute drive to the 134 fwy towards Pasadena or towards Ventura and the 101 fwy and a quick 20 minute drive to downtown LA, my home is a lovely, comfortable, quiet and calm place to reside during your stay in Los Angeles. Also I am 45 minutes from Disneyland, 20 minutes from Universal Studios, and 25 minutes from Magic Mountain. Guest AccessThey have the entire house.       The SpaceOh, you'll love this space! We offer a new Beauty Rest queen bed under a down comforter and plumped with feather pillows. A kitchen area with everything you need to fix a bite for yourself. A good-size closet with wooden hangars, and in the bath, you'll find lots of amenities. There is Wi-fi for you and the smart HDTV. The leather sofa unfolds to a full-sized bed in case you bring along some sleepy friends. And if you haven't been able to quite leave the office behind, a fold-out table for you to work on. So spread out! There are two French doors so you have your choice of private entry. Come and go as you please, stay as long as you like. We designed the studio with you in mind. Interaction with GuestsWe can help with addresses and restaurant choices. There are movie theaters within a ten minute drive which is where we are at least once a week! The NeighborhoodLa Canada is a great little community of 24,000 souls. It feels like the mountains, but we are deceptively close to the big city. Our best little local nugget is the even smaller village of Montrose, literally next door. It's a pretty 6 blocks of strolling on wide sidewalks under the trees to shop or choose from one of the many restaurants to enjoy. Their Farmer's Market is held every Sunday. La Canada has one also, on Saturdays. Getting AroundPublic transportation can be had by bus, but it's best to expect to get around by car. You can use the Metro for trips around LA by leaving your car at one of the Metro parking lots and buying a ticket for a train. It's a great way to take a day trip to see the Angels play, or get yourself to San Diego without sitting in traffic! Other Things to NoteThe studio you stay in is in a house, high in the huge Deodar pines, right across an arroyo from a walking trail. You might even recognize the view, as it is used in several TV shows as the "Main St" of the town. Inside, I have used calming tones and bright patterns to create a warm and creative space. You can sip coffee at the cafe table or lounge in the LA-Z-Boy chair and feel right at home. You can get lots of great light in the space. I have to toot my own horn here, I've used the small space well to make it feel very open. You will have access to WIFI and ROKU with Amazon Prime, Netflix, HuluPlus and HBO GO. On the weekends there are live musicians and a Farmers Market on Sunday! Getting AroundLet's face it, LA does not boast the finest public transportation system. Getting AroundAn immediate proximity to I-210 and CA-2. About 14 miles to downtown Los Angeles. Five-six miles to CA-134 (Glendale). Eight-ten miles to Pasadena (8-10 minutes by car).
