The SpaceAmazing mid-century modern house located in a very safe and cool mid-century neighborhood on the border of LA and Orange county. This house has been featured in design magazines, commercials, and TV shows. Close to the beach AND close to the main freeways: Minutes from multiple beaches (Long Beach, Sunset Beach, Seal Beach, Huntington Beach - borrow one of our surf boards if you want to get wet), and 1 minute from the 405 and 605 freeways (main arteries to LA and OC). Walking distance to bike trails (we have some bikes), GOLF COURSES (we have some clubs), nature trails, and huge beautiful parks. Located just off the "busy" areas in LBC, you can actually park your car right in front of the house :) (and have friends over!) Neighborhood is safe and quiet, with cool neighbors. ON SITE: Heated pool, totally private compound environment, secure FIOS high speed internet, tons of nooks/places to work and chill, multiple TV's and audio systems, security system that is as easy to operate as an iPhone, amazing vintage/modern kitchen w every tool you need to cook, and a beautiful patio and BBQ ready to go at all times. Every room has an alternate private entrance, with its own semi-shared private yard. There are 3 rentable rooms in the house, and 2 bathrooms. There is a shared bathroom for the 2 guest bedrooms. We've never had problem with this as we have had many ABB renters, but we want to make sure you know everything possible about the house and rooms. :) This house is really cool without being bourgeois. It truly has soul. Artistic and cool neighborhood. Getting AroundYou need a car or an Uber budget to get around in Long Beach or LA, same as any neighborhood in So Cal! :) Other Things to NotePLEASE - before inquiring: read the house and room descriptions carefully, and please fully fill out your profile with a good description of who you are, what you do, etc., including a clear photo(s) of yourself - I never rent to anyone without a clear description and photo. I get a lot of requests for this space, and it really saves me a lot of time if I can see and understand who i'm dealing with right up front as if we're meeting in person. This is a special space and I like to make sure the experience will be great for everyone that may end up sharing the space. It becomes a lot of work to constantly ask for more info from potential renters that create an AB&B account, but don't fill out any profile information at all. I rent to people who CARE. The townhouse has a two-car garage, plus lot parking inside the community. There also is a bus stop 150 feet from the front door (outside the community along Valley View Street). The NeighborhoodThere may not be a better location in Orange County, both in terms of centrality and accessibility. Almost nothing in Orange County is more than 20 minutes away. A 12-minute trip down Pacific Coast Highway brings you to Huntington Beach. Another 5 minutes, and you're in Newport Beach. Even a day trip to San Diego is only 80 minutes away. Getting AroundIf needed, there is a bus stop 200 feet from the entrance gate, on Valley View Street. Other Things to NoteWanting to be closer to their family after retiring, our grandparents bought this home when it was built in 1978 and passed it down to our mom, who in turn passed it on to us to enjoy as a getaway from the Arizona heat. We have many friends in Arizona who stay in hotels in California when they visit. We think that's a shame, so we wanted to open the doors to those seeking something different. We're betting that guests like you want an upscale, more private place where you could cook or grille together with friends and family, or sit around the fire under the glow of the string lights. And we tried to keep it reasonably priced to encourage you to stay longer and get to know the area. We want you to have all the amenities and comforts of home -- to use the townhouse as a 'forward operating base' of relaxation. To that end, we created a space, almost from scratch, where we would want to stay -- because we stay here, too. In short, this is our home away from home, and we would be honored if you made it yours. A few things we love about it: 1. Comfort. This place is built for relaxation and fun. From the Sleep Number beds to the 'reclining living room,' we wanted this to be an upscale crash pad with an unparalleled depth of comfort and a unique feel. 2. The back yard. A cold drink, a warm fire, and a hot grill; 'nuff said. 3. Central air-conditioning. It can get pretty hot (and humid!) in California, and while many California vacation homes make do on 93-degree days with ceiling fans and open windows, our coastal getaway keeps you cool. 4. How about a soak? When your feet are killing you from a marathon Disneyland adventure, come back and sink into the deep Kohler soaking tub. (Notice how the wine glass fits perfectly into that niche? It was built that way, with your aching bones and need for relaxation in mind.)

The SpaceThis lovely 3 bedroom, 2 bath mid-century house is a wonderful vacation rental for your family or group. The master bedroom has a king size bed, the 2nd bedroom has a queen, and the 3rd bedroom has a twin with twin trundle. The extra large sectional couch in the living room also has a pull out full/double mattress and we can provide a queen sized air mattress (to use in the Yoga room). There is a sunny yoga room to practice yoga, meditate, or read a book from our spiritual and inspiring library. All new windows in the home give a clean, updated look, and provide nice insulation from any outside noise, although it is located in a quiet residential neighborhood. Fully equipped kitchen, and a nice spacious backyard, with garden and seasonal fruit trees, as well as a playhouse for the children. The front yard is newly planted with an edible and medicinal California native garden. Guest AccessGuests have full use of the house and backyard. Please note there is no garage access and no washer/dryer (We recommend Spin Cycle laudromat on 7th and Termino). Our neighbors are quiet and keep to themselves, and we ask that you respect them by doing the same. Interaction with GuestsWe are happy to help with local suggestions of places to go and things to do. We have lived in Long Beach for 8 years and recently relocated out of state, however our local house manager, would be happy to greet you upon arrival and assist with any needs. Lockbox access can also be arranged. The NeighborhoodThe home is located in a nice, safe, residential neighborhood in east Long Beach that is wonderful for walking and biking (Long Beach is very bike friendly!). Within walking distance, there is a 7-11, several eateries (pizza, chinese, italian, pastries) and Fed-Ex Office (1/4 mile), and we would love to recommend other great places to eat, farmer's markets, adult and kid friendly activities as well. Long Beach has an amazing selection of restaurants and there are endless options for fun things to do! Please have a look at our Guidebook. We are located a 1/2 mile from Cal State Long Beach, central access to the 405, 605 and 22 freeways, and 10 minutes from the Long Beach airport. We are 3 miles to the closest beaches in Long Beach, and 15-20 minutes to the best surfing beaches in Southern California! We are located just under 20 miles to Disneyland. The largest park in Long Beach (El Dorado Park) and playground, are within walking distance as well. Please let us know any specific destinations you would like to know the distance to - we are happy to help you plan your vacation! Getting AroundParking in the driveway is available for 1 car. There is street sweeping one day a week on each side of the street but there is abundant and free street parking for additional cars. We do live across the street from an elementary school so during the school year, 9am and 3pm get a bit crowded, but quiet down within 15 minutes. There are bus stops at both of the nearby cross streets that can give you access to all of Long Beach, neighboring beach cities, and the train station in downtown Long Beach, which goes into downtown LA. Other Things to NoteChildren 2 years and over are considered a full priced person. Please include them in your reservation. TV with Verizon FiOs. Please note: There is no A/C in the house but we do provide 4 fans as well as the main house fan in the hallway. Opening the windows and turning on the fans, as well as the ocean breeze, cools down the house quite well.

The SpaceEveryone that comes over feels great in the space (and thankfully share that!) ...and it's beautiful. New wood floors, new kitchen and bathrooms. We just redid the 2 porches and spend most of our time outside in the front or backyards. We live on a peaceful tree-lined street with family oriented neighbors. My favorite part of the kitchen is that it is sunlit, and our original draw to the house was the beautiful light that graces every room. All new appliances and an earth-friendly vegetarian kitchen. Our design is Indian inspired, with many of our pieces coming from our family's Indian antique collection. Still, we've made it kid friendly and adult friendly. Swingset and lawn toys for kids, and fire pit and BBQ for enjoying the gorgeous sunset dinners in the backyard. Sleeping: Master 2 adults; Kids rooms has a twin bunk bed; queen bed in the guests bedroom. Guest AccessThe whole house. The whole backyard. Only the garage is off limits. Interaction with GuestsWe'll likely only interact with you to hand over the keys. I may be in and out of my home office in the detached garage in the front of the house, and I'll let you know ahead of time. The NeighborhoodThis is one of the best neighborhoods in LBC for families, and you won't find many airbnb available here. (There are parts of long beach that seem like good prices but are not great neighborhoods, watch out!) There is a farmer's market almost every day of the week in Long Beach, and it's becoming one of America's more bike friendly towns. During the Summer, there is a concert or movie in the park, or festival almost every day put on by our award winning (Best in the US) Parks and Recreation Dept. We'll point out the various cultural pockets throughout our large city itself, and encourage you to take advantage of the incredible diversity. Long Beach is one of the only places we know where you can get authentic El Salvadorian papusas, Vietnamese pho, Cambodian curry, Oaxacan mole, and Southern soul food in the same day. Luckily, with all the great food, there are plenty of options for outdoor fun and activity in Long Beach. Biking, Kayaking, Wind Surfing, Sailing, Golfing (9 courses within our city alone), acroyoga, and even frisbee golf. We've got so many family owned businesses, and for health-conscious folks there is a yoga studio on almost every block. California has everything from world reknown wineries to amusement parks, mountains, forests (the Sierras are our favorites), that you can enjoy on horseback, hang-glide or hot air balloon. We are in the perfect location, right in the middle of LA (sight seeing and entertainment) and Orange County (amusement parks and best beaches). The beach is 10 mins away, and the mountains are about 2 hours by car. Long beach is much less pretentious and stressful than LA, but still down to earth and eco-chic. Honestly, there is so much to do in Long Beach itself, we rarely leave for fun. Getting AroundPrivate 2 car driveway; bus stop on the corner; bike friendly city. Lots of green space, a kitchen garden and a great patio along with good indoor amenities - TVs with cable, an equipped kitchen, and easy access to all thing Long Beach. Guest AccessA full bathroom, kitchen, den and backyard patio are available for your use. You can pick greens and herbs from the garden, if you're so inclined. Owner lives in the home and private quarters - master bed and bath - are off limits. Interaction with GuestsAs much or as little as you need. I'm happy to provide a continental breakfast and coffee or tea and guidance for sites to see and experience and getting around Long Beach. The NeighborhoodIt's a wonderful, safe, walkable neighborhood with beautifully and lovingly restored homes. This tract was designed by mid-century architect Cliff May and is a desired location in the city. Getting AroundYes, and no. Long Beach connects to Downtown Los Angeles with its Blue line subway, which is efficient and convenient. While there is a good bus system, Long Beach is a large city and it can take time to get around. Owner is happy to provide some transportation if arranged in advance. Other Things to NoteWe get great warm sun and cool ocean breezes. We have ceiling fans in every room, though no air conditioning. We can provide additional fans, if needed.

The Long Beach Towne Center is located just north of El Dorado Park, and with movie theaters, restaurants, home improvement stores and specialty shops, this complex has a store for every need. If Tranquility is what you are looking for, then this is the place for you. This Lakeview condo is the close to downtown without the "city" noise and stressful surrounding. Instead of traffic, you will have a lake filled with exotic birds, ducks, and large fish as your backyard. The condominium consist of two levels, however the second floor is being occupied but the room for rent is a large room with private entrance, private kitchen use, private parking and private bathroom. Two Lighted Tennis Courts Within Community Gates, Gated Community. Nature Center Wildlife Preserve Walking Distance, and Riverbed Which Leads to Huntington Beach, Seal Beach and Long Beach. The fire extinguisher was fully charged at last inspection. It is the duty of the tenant to inform management immediately should the fire extinguisher become less than fully charged. Tenant agrees to use the fire extinguisher only for true emergencies. 23.The property has fire alarms installed and they are believed to function properly at the time of rental. Tennant will notify management without delay if a fire alarm “chirps” or has a low battery condition. 24.Tennant is advised that there is a carbon monoxide detector on the property.25.Tenant shall be responsible for their own security during the tenancy period. 26.Valuable items left behind by tenant will be held for the tenant and every reasonable effort will be made to contact the tenant for return. If items are not claimed for longer than 6 months they shall become the property of the Landlord. Major shopping Malls are only a few miles away. A Golf course, a Racecourse (horses) and Health Club are very close.     The SpaceThis house is the epitome of California architecture. If you want to experience mid-century modern architecture, which emphasizes indoor-outdoor living, this is the house for you. It was recently renovated last summer in a way that was sensitive to its original features.       Its a cozy and comfortable house with all the amenities and 1,600 sq. ft. living space. Full kitchen privileges are available. It has Fireplace in the living room. Disneyland, Knott's Berry, Convention Center, Golden Beaches and many other attractions are very close. Hollywood, Los Angeles, Universal Studios, etc. are a few miles away. Sea World and Legoland are 1.5 hrs drive. Major shopping Malls are only a few miles away. A Golf course, a Racecourse (horses) and Health Club are 2 miles away. Health Club is open 24 hours, has a large pool, steam room, sauna, jacuzzi, basketball court, weight room, treadmills and much more (club fee of $5.00/24 hrs applies). Internet, Wi-Fi and a Large builtin desk are available. Fax is also available. Its a 2 story house and the three rental rooms are on the 2nd story with large bathroom, tub, shower, sink, toilet, etc., which ensures complete privacy of guests. A Large Door separates this area. First floor has living room, dining room, kitchen and 1/2 bathroom. These are only for the guests and are not shared. A room on the first floor in the back of the house is used for office which is completely secluded from the three rental rooms on the 2nd floor and living room, kitchen, dining room and 1/2 bathroom on the first floor. It has private entrance of its own from the side gate and does not disturb the guests. Complete privacy of the guests is assured.

      The SpaceYour room, located in our cozy yet modern condo is in a gated community. It offers a personal experience and is centrally located with easy access to shopping and the beach (for those with a car, although public transportation is also available). Theme parks like Disneyland and Knotts Berry Farm are only about 20-30min away (depending on our California traffic). It is also less than an hour away from Hollywood and downtown Los Angeles. This is a quiet community. However, there is a large family upstairs, which means our home is not always a sound free zone. If you are sensitive to the occasional noise, it is something to keep in mind. We are newlyweds who are excited to welcome you to their first home. It is full of love. As such, we hope you will fill our space with joyous and/or relaxing experiences. Know that the hosts are new to the AirBnB club, so even they are not sure what to expect, but that the profits from guests are going toward trying to make sure you are going to visit again! Guest AccessGuests have access to all parts of our home except the master bedroom and bathroom. Laundry rooms are located just outside the apartment and use quarters. This booking also comes with day access to two pools, barbecue grills, a Jacuzzi, the gym, and even a sauna! Use of these spaces is contingent on guests respecting these areas and keeping noise levels to a minimum in these common spaces. No alcohol permitted in the pool area. Interaction with GuestsWe do live in our home! Thus, I am available most of the time. However sometimes my husband and I leave on weekends or for vacation. We will let you know ASAP ( before booking) if we plan to be out of town that weekend. Getting AroundOur condo is best if you are prepared to drive to locations or take public transportation. We have many stores just a short walk away, but tourist attractions are not walkable from our place, they are, however, a short drive away! There is a bus just down the block. No transfers necessary to get to the beach and back.

      The SpaceLocated just off the "busy" areas in LBC, you can actually park your car right in front of the house :) (and have friends over!) Neighborhood is safe and quiet, with cool neighbors. ON SITE: Heated pool, totally private compound environment, secure FIOS high speed internet, tons of nooks/places to work and chill, multiple TV's and audio systems, security system that is as easy to operate as an iPhone, amazing vintage/modern kitchen w every tool you need to cook, and a beautiful patio and BBQ ready to go at all times. Every room has an alternate private entrance, with its own semi-shared private yard. There are 3 rentable rooms in the house, and 2 bathrooms. There is a shared bathroom for the 2 guest bedrooms. We've never had problem with this as we have had many ABB renters, but we want to make sure you know everything possible about the house and rooms. :) This house is really cool without being bourgeois. It truly has soul. Getting AroundYou have to have a car or an Uber budget when living in So. Cal. Pretty much every city in So. Cal. Other Things to NoteThis is a clean, well designed, and beautiful house, but it is an old house. Its an OG Mid-Century Modern built by a famous architect. So please keep in mind that it acts like an old house. When its hot or cold, the house expands and contracts so of course "stuff" can get quirky (doors, locks, gate, etc) and some details aren't flawless. I constantly stay on maintaining the place but there is always stuff to work on. I also buy a lot vintage furniture, so of course some of my furniture has various stages of wear - I actually LIKE this, but I want to fully disclose every possible detail I can think of :)
