The SpaceSki Park is open as is the Skate rink and Nordic cross country runs!! Cozy Cabin in the woods located at the base of beautiful Mount Shasta in far Northern California, USA. Enjoy your quiet bedroom with a rocking chair and space to relax and listen to the crickets. Please note that on the opening page it says I only have one bedroom but there are two for rent. The other one is under a separate listing called "the cozy room". Peaceful backyard includes a hot tub for a full R & R experience. Wi-Fi included, of course. Brand new king bed and a down-filled couch, if need be. The bathroom is shared, just so you know. Help yourself to a fresh cup o' Joe in the morning to send you off on your adventure. I should add here that though we are called B & B, that my B stands for Bed and Beverage... not Breakfast.. You are welcome to put a few things in the fridge and make a sandwich or a light breakie.. Guests must love pets as I have a Labrador, plus a few amazing and affectionate cats and one silly parrot who rules the roost! They love people and pets. You are welcomed to bring your pet for a $10 per night 'Fido/Feline-Fee' (negotiable fee for elephants). Please note that you may not have your pet here unless you are here with them. We may be able to accommodate your needs under certain circumstances. We love animals! Our location is at the base of Mt. Shasta and the edge of town with the National Forest just up the road and the village of Mount Shasta just down the road. A perfect locale for whatever tickles your fancy. Check in is 5 pm at the earliest. Some of you folks coming from the Bay are likely to come in by dark. If you want a superior massage, contact Kimberly @ five three zero walwawo. She is the best. Long distance folks are welcome to check in as late as midnight. A bottle of welcomed gratuity vino would be just great after 11 PM. Checkout by 10 am unless other arrangements are made. Mount Shasta area is so great and has many fantastic places - Too numerous to count.. I just know you will return because it is an irresistible place that will capture your heart. No one comes here just once. As they used to say about Lay's potato chips.. "Betcha can't eat just one!" Oh boy howdy! The great outdoors, full moon risin', the smell of autumn leaves burning. Hot tub soak under an impossible sky full of stars and fresh hot coffee or tea in the morning. It is a pretty sweet package. We usually have a nice chat in the evening if time permits. Folks are typically out and about as there is much to enjoy in and out of town. I want to spend enough time with you to orient you and lend a helping hand with your plans, I can point you in the right direction to assure you of a memorable and refreshing time. The Cozy Cabin is not set up as a place for you to hang out during the day so hopefully you have places to see and things to do and mountains to climb. I shall be here to help in the recovery phase of life. I just added a lively hammock in the back between the pines. Come and give it a test drive! At your service, Sooz and Critters Guest AccessYou will be renting a room in the cabin, not the entire cabin so we share. It is a three bedroom, one bath, one hot tub, one kitchen home. Swim suit or birthday suit ok as it is private. Modesty required. You are welcome to use the kitchen in a small way such as making a quick meal or sandwich or something like that. It's just too small to have a lot of people in the kitchen and using up gobs of space in the refrigerator. Interaction with GuestsBefore you book, kindly fill out your profile so I can know about you. We typically have good conversation whenever it is convenient and I am more than happy to help you plan to make the most of your time here in a wee bit of Heaven. The NeighborhoodVery close to the mountain. Safe, quiet and filled with huge trees! We are right on the edge of the wilderness and also the village. Everything is within a minute or two! Perfect locale. I will provide you with books and a binder of information including local history, places to go, activities, menus, etc. Walking/hiking spots are just out the door and it is a just about 10 minutes to Mt. Shasta Golf Resort and Lake Siskiyou so golfing, sailing, kayaking ,fishing, swimming and dining are very close by. The Mount Shasta Ski and Board Park is about 30 minutes away. They offer nice day runs and also night skiing for a reasonable cost. I think they have mountain bike trails in summer. A short drive up Everett Memorial Hwy from the Cozy Cabin takes you 14 miles up the mountain to outdoor recreation spots and the 'old Ski Bowl' and famous 'Panther Meadows'. It is a fantastic drive for vistas, sunrise, sunset, moonrise watching. In fact, if you go just 3 miles up the road at night, you will see an impossible sky full of stars that will take your very breath away! Just past McCloud, Fowler Falls is about 40 minutes from the Cozy Cabin. It has three beautiful waterfalls and a lovely easy walk to the base of the Middle Falls.. How's that for being only a stone's throw from a jumping off place to hike, climb, fish, snowshoe or x-country ski? Something for every season of the year..every interest. Stewart Mineral Springs is about a 30 minute pleasant drive rich in beauty and a lovely hot spring spa. Perfect outing on a winter's day, especially. Getting AroundNo convenient transit system. Typical California! You may fly into Sacramento (3 hours south) or Redding, CA (1 hour south) or Medford, Oregon (1 1/2 hrs. north) and rent a car. I am happy to give you a fun driving tour of the area in North or South Siskiyou County. There is a taxi service (Shasta Shuffle) and a local Shuttle (STAGE) that goes up to North Siskiyou County. You can rent bicycles in town, too. I am happy to give you a ride to any destination and pick you up. Other Things to NoteCheck in is between 5 pm and 11 pm however sometimes people get stuck in traffic coming from the bay area. You're welcome to check in later than that and if you wouldn't mind leaving a gratuity to bless our household, that uld be very nice.Hot tub curfew is 10:30 PM. Check out is by 10 am. You are welcome to put a little bit of food in our cozy refrigerator and make up a small meal or sandwiches. Just clean up your dishes, and put them away and be sure the kitchen is left in order. There are a few local eateries to enjoy yet most close by 8 pm during the week except a few. You may finish off the evening with a lovely outdoor hot tub . You will probably sleep like a baby. Your pets are welcomed as mine get along very well with others and are acquainted with all kind of humans and animals. Pet fee is $10/night and pets must be with owners at all times on leash on the premises. My kitties appreciate it most. Also, a great website for hiking information is mt shasta hikes dot calm. Super info and photos. I hope you can find it. Bubba Suess just wrote a great book 'Hiking California's Mount Shasta Region' of which I have a copy. He is amazing. Just relax, be refreshed and have a great time! IF you would like to book a superb masseuse, you can call mine. I will give you her phone number when you book. That and a hot tub and you'll never leave! We aim to please. If you need help planning your holiday, I am happy to assist you as I have lived here over 40 years and have many contacts and information about the area. Personal tours available for $30 per hour. I also have a colleague who gives back-country and climbing tours (see Robin Kohn online). I have 2 pair of snowshoes and you can rent Sorrel boots in town or BYOB (boots). It is easy and fun!

THE CHALET AT MOUNT SHASTA [Note: You will be charged an additional Traveller Fee (5-15%) on some FlipKey / Trip Advisor rentals, but NOT for The Chalet. Also online cost quotes can be inaccurate. If you want to take advantage of the cash discount we offer for payment by check and/or want more information please send an Inquiry. ] (October 2016) The holidays (Thanksgiving/Christmas/New Years) are booked but not too early to start thinking about winter reservations. Nestled among the pines with views of magnificent Mount Shasta, this charming, modern chalet lets you relax and reflect on the serenity of the area while enjoying the comforts of home. Romantic luxury for 2... Yet spacious enough to sleep a large family. The unique combination of outstanding location, exceptional layout, and owner involvement makes The Chalet the perfect place for a mountain get-a-away. (But if you MUST check e-mail, hi-speed WiFi is provided.)We, Jack and Terri, live in the Bay Area but go to Mount Shasta so often that we decided to buy the Chalet in 1999 for our own use and for guests. The Chalet is located three and a half miles from central Mount Shasta City, just north of the city limits in a quiet residential neighborhood, recessed from the street. There is plenty of distance (and trees!) between the neighbors. It is very peaceful and private. There is a wonderful view of the mountain from the deck, the dining area, and the upstairs loft area. You will find an outdoor table (with chairs and umbrella) on the deck during the warm weather months as well as an outdoor barbecue grill. Sleds in winter! The large upstairs bedroom suite has a queen bed as well as a futon that opens up to sleep two. (Note: The futon would be comfortable for 2 kids or 1 adult/1 kid but not 2 adults.) There is also a queen bed in the downstairs bedroom. All of the beds are quite comfortable. Additionally there is a reclining sofa in the living room where it is easy to fall asleep unintentionally (in front of wood burning stove) where 1-2 people could sleep. There are two full baths, one downstairs (walk-in shower) and one in the master bedroom suite (bathtub/shower combination). There is a dishwasher, a well-stocked kitchen (with toaster oven, blender, microwave, coffee maker) and a separate laundry room with washer and dryer. The Chalet is VERY pet friendly, with a fenced - in the backyard to enhance your dog's experience at The Chalet. We pride ourselves on meeting the needs of our guests. All inquiries and reservations are handled directly by the owners (us!), not a property manager. Our goal is to make your stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. We ENCOURAGE early arrivals and late departures whenever the guest schedule allows for it. We are proud of our growing number of repeat guests, and we hope you enjoy The Chalet as much as we do. We are also dog-lovers, so you can bring ALL members of the family! Here are some recent guest comments: We chose the area for our family reunion this year, and were prepared to "rough it" if need be. But we were happily surprised--the Chalet is even more wonderful than the pictures: bright, cheery and sparkling, with furniture both comfortable and clean, and ample bedding and kitchen supplies. The owners are welcoming and gracious, and the fact that they appreciate and make use of the place themselves shows in the care they give both the place and the guests. The location is perfect in that it's only five minutes from shopping, and yet is quiet and forested, with mountain views. It's at the top of our list for places to stay in Mt. Shasta area( July 2015). The Chalet is a great, clean and cozy place. The owner Jack was very helpful from the start and sincerely interested in sharing his family's appreciation of this gorgeous part of California - the Mt. Shasta area. The house is one of the cleanest rentals I've been in, and I've rented everywhere on the planet. It's dog-friendly without a trace of pet smells. We did a fair amount of cooking/baking during our 3 day stay there and found all the pots, pans and utensils we needed. Mt. Shasta water is indescribably tasty, right from the tap. The house is a convenient base for hikers (that's us), skiers, water sport people, or just hanging out on the deck and smelling the pines. We'll be back (May 2015). We normally stay in a cute "inn" or somewhere other than a hotel when we visit mt. Shasta, this time it was my husband's birthday so we really wanted somewhere special. He was dead set on a place with a fireplace! The chalet was the first one we saw and we knew that was the one! Its a beautiful house with everything you need and more! We loved it there and will definitely be going back yearly. Wonderful owners! Very sweet people! (March 2015) No additional charge for kids. 3+ adults Summer $185 /$1150 weekly; 3+ adults Winter $175/$1090 weekly 3+ adults Off-Season $160/$930 weekly (Autumn / Spring). 4th night only $40 during Off-Season! Ask about current special 'deals'! Discount for extended stay. The location of The Chalet is ideal. It is situated just north of the Mt. Shasta City limits so that it has a real country/rural feel yet only a few minutes to town. with easy access to I-5. The front of the house faces the mountain. It is right near Black Butte ( www.summitpost.org/mountain/rock/151230/black-butte.html ) and 1/2 block from Shasta Abbey ( www.shastaabbey.org ). The SpaceWe are offering a very private, very quiet brand new (May '12) loft that overlooks our manicured gardens. Clients have their own private carport, private entry, private deck and views of the Mt. Shasta and forest to die for. We have approximately 800 sq. ft. of open living space. The only interior wall is the wall that separates the bathroom from the rest of the space. How about a two person shower with two shower heads!!! We have a queen size bed and a pull out sofa bed. We can sleep up to 4 adults. Perfect for mom, dad and two children. We are located 1 mile from downtown Mt. Shasta. Close to shopping and restaurants and yet in a private forest setting. Great hiking, x-country, snow shoeing right out of the loft door. Guest AccessGuests have their own covered parking space out of the snow and sun. Guests are encouraged to walk about the flower garden and greenhouse and enjoy the beautiful gardens. Kids are certainly allowed to play outside as long as they are accompanied with a responsible adult. We do have a dog. Interaction with GuestsWe live in the adjacent home and are always available to answer questions. Sandy and I enjoy social interaction with our guests and provide guests with privacy as well. The NeighborhoodOur nearest neighbors are over 100 yards away. Neighbors homes can not be seen most of the year. In winter (leaves off brush) lights can be seen by one neighbor to the south of the loft. Very quiet spot. Getting AroundWe are 1 mile from downtown Mt. Shasta. The SpaceThis home is very loved by my family and we're happy to get to share it with visitors. It has four bedrooms and comfortably sleeps eight people. There are two bedrooms downstairs with a king and queen bed, and two upstairs with two twin beds in each. The house is filled with light thanks to large windows on the walls facing the lake and the mountain. It's quiet and secluded, but close to the most beautiful places in Shasta including Lake Siskiyou, Castle Lake, and the mountain itself. The screened-in porch provides a comfortable outdoor dining area and the living room has a decorative fireplace (though not for use) and a large TV. There's also internet access, though it can be slow. This is a place to relax, disconnect and take in the beautiful scenery. The lake is shared by only a few other houses and feels very private. When you step outside you hear birds, frogs, crickets and wind but not much else. Guest AccessYou'll have full access to the house. A small storage room upstairs is kept locked. Bring your gear to fish off the dock. The lake isn't good for swimming (it's cold and murky) and boating is not allowed. Check in and check out times are flexible. Relax and enjoy! Interaction with GuestsYou'll have access to the house upon arrival, though I won't be there to greet you. If you need anything you'll have my cell phone number, and I know people in the town who can help out in case of emergency. You're free to call me for any questions or concerns throughout your stay! The NeighborhoodThe house is located down a secluded street and is very private. It's surrounded by farmland with horses, quail and other animals wandering around, and impressively vocal bullfrogs in the summer. You may also hear the geese around the lake. The house is a 5 minute drive to town and about 20 minutes from the base of the mountain. Getting AroundYou'll want a car to get around, but there's plenty of parking available in the driveway of the house and in the garage.

On occasion we may stop by to see that you are happy and our home is being taken care of with the loving care our owners expect from us. The NeighborhoodThe neighborhood is quiet and safe. Friendly people do walk their dogs, stroll with their strollers, and jog or walk by on occasion. Mount Shasta is a nice, fairly crime free town so most neighborhoods are like this. Getting AroundThe only public transport is the Stage Bus. It runs from South Siskiyou County to North Siskiyou County but it is about 2 hours between pick ups so it`s not the most convenient. Having your own car or even bikes would be more convenient. Other Things to NoteThere is a welcome letter on the counter. READ IT as it will give you instructions for the house such as WiFi code, when trash pick up days are, what to do when you prepare to leave, etc. Also, absolutely NO SMOKING on the property due to HOA rules and close by neighbors. Also, on the counter is a journal and we invite all guests to leave a little blurb about their visit.
