The SpaceThe Garden Gate is set back from the road, bougainvillea and an ivy tunnel down the driveway welcome you to quietness with birds chirping, a park bench, a protective giant ash tree, outdoor fireplace, and fruit trees. Inside there are tiled floors, plush new carpet in the bedroom with closet and dresser space. This is a perfect hideaway for a business meeting or a rendezvous, an artist's retreat, or a healing space. Two friendly but shy clean cats, Corli and Kipurr delight the eye. For use there is a washer and dryer, microwave, fresh coffee every morning, fruit in season from the trees, i.e. apples, Meyer lemons, figs, sweet oranges, pomegranates and grapefruit. The Valley is know to get hot in the summer but my place is cool from the trees and there is central air conditioning and heating as needed.

The Neighborhood Most of all, being back from the road, the Garden Gate is a dose of green quiet country in the middle of a busy area of Los Angeles. A stroll around the yard in the morning is uplifting. Pick a piece of seasonal fruit off a tree. What I love in my neighborhood is that there are no houses across the street and it is a nice area for a stroll or a run. I adore and respect my grand Ash tree providing shade, animal life, kindling for the outdoor fireplace and its beautiful presence. Nearby, drive down to Lake Balboa or Japanese Garden.
