Being close to the main road was a priority for several reasons. First, Squaw Valley Road always gets plowed first so we can get out and get to the slopes. Second, being close to the road means we're close to the shuttle that runs up and down the Valley between the Resort and the Village. In fact, we're right on the corner of Squaw Valley and Winding Creek Roads. Everyone can come and go on their own time. It's easy to get back to the house for a hot lunch or to retrieve gear left behind. UNIQUE BENEFITS We love the easy access to amenities offered by The Village at Squaw Valley and The Resort at Squaw Creek. Both places have a lot to offer. It's easy to get around: ski school, shops, restaurants, grocery & wine stores, and more. It's always entertaining to see what's going on in the valley. We love watching the dog sleds moving across the snow-covered valley floor. At night we gaze at the bright stars that are so easy to see against the dark sky. The air at Squaw Valley and the smell of the evergreens is fantastic. The amenities available within Squaw Valley are complete. Sometimes we choose to never leave the valley at all, until we depart for home in The Bay Area. Guest AccessEntire house, deck, one-car garage and yard. Interaction with GuestsNo interaction with owner. But feel free to call or email if you have any questions. The SpaceOur house was constructed by one of the finest builders in Tahoe. If you appreciate thoughtful design and construction quality from stem to stern you will especially enjoy our home. The house is furnished extremely well throughout, the kitchen is outstanding and the layout lends itself to a great time by all - there is a large common living area comprising the kitchen, dining and living rooms. There is a sunny deck just off the living room and the house faces south so gets a lot of sun. Guest AccessThere's DISH TV, an entertainment system with DVD, wireless internet access, BBQ (outdoor for summer use only), two car garage, jetted oval tubs in both upstairs and downstairs master suites, convection oven in kitchen, a seasonal creek in front of the house, access to all sorts of hiking and biking trails, 5-10 minute drive to Lake Tahoe (Tahoe City), 2-3 minutes to Truckee RIver, access to clear swimming pond, tennis courts, outdoor BBQ areas at foot of Alpine Meadows Rd. Interaction with GuestsWe bend over backward to ensure our guests will be happy, understand the house and the area. We love the house and hope you will too. The NeighborhoodJuniper Mountain is the ridge between Alpine Meadows and Squaw Valley. It's the only neighborhood in the area with southern exposure so it's nice and sunny and the snow melts off the driveway fast. The neighborhood is architecturally consistent with underground utilities, there's no highway noise (so prevalent in the Tahoe area) and it's a nice mix of year round and part time residents. Getting AroundThere is a shuttle between Alpine and Squaw in the winter and usually the driver will let us off at the base of Juniper Mt. Rd. where it's a 1/4 walk up tot he house. There's public transit (bus) at the base of Alpine Meadows Rd. Other Things to NoteOur house is perfect for one or two families to share. There are much better party houses than ours in Tahoe with hot tubs, pool tables, access to bars, etc. Juniper Mountain is a quiet, family friendly neighborhood.
