The SpaceThis cozy bedroom has a queen bed and is nicely furnished. It is very quiet in this space. The shared bathroom is large, light and airy. It is shared with only one other room. The house is wonderful, built in 1929 as a summer cabin for SF people. Views across the Bay, from Oakland to the Dumbarton Bridge. Amazing garden with a unique "outdoor room" and a hillside full of lavender. Lots of places to explore on this hillside home. Feel free to use the well-equipped kitchen and relax in the living room. Fireplace is available. Off street parking, brick stairs to the house. Enjoy! Note that public transit isn't great here. If you are on bike, you will really work hard! There are lots of walking and hiking trails fairly close by, as well as a couple of restaurants only a mile away. Guest AccessThe kitchen is fully equipped and you are welcome to cook like a storm! Please clean up afterwards. The gardens are there for your enjoyment too, as well as the entire main floor. Getting AroundYou should probably have your own car unless you want to work at walking up hills Other Things to NoteNote that I have 4 rooms that could be occupied at any given time and the people staying here are always fabulous. If you like dogs, this is a wonderful home. My dogs are super friendly and well behaved. Many people have returned because they love my pets! Unfortunately I can not allow cats as my son is allergic to them!

Interaction with GuestsI interact as much as you'd like. I am usually home and have an office here. But everyone has their own private space so we aren't in each other's way. Getting AroundPlentiful parking in the driveway. Public transportation is not good in the area. Other Things to NoteNote that there are steps leading down to the house. I also have 4 rooms that could be occupied at any given time and the people staying here are always fabulous. If you like dogs, this is a wonderful home. My dogs are super friendly and well behaved. The SpaceThe reason to pick this space is simple: it's close to transit and offers easy access to the stuff you'll need during your stay. Redwood City Caltrain is a 12 minute walk, and is located right next to Sequoia station. At Sequoia station there's a Whole Foods, a nice sit down restaurant (Max's), CVS, Barnes and Noble, and a Safeway. There's ample on street parking if you prefer to use a car. Guest AccessWhile I'm out of town on a business trip, you'll be staying in my lightly furnished bedroom. There's a $400 Matrand IKEA mattress and high quality sheets, nice towels, soap, shampoo. The only off limits location is my roommate's bedroom. As long as you clean up after yourself, feel free to use the kitchen and enjoy a bit of food from the fridge. If you're planning to cook or want significant sustenance, you can ping me or ask my housemate to order same day groceries. You can also let me know in advance if there are consumable amenities you'd like to have here when you arrive and I'll make that happen (and send you the bill). Interaction with GuestsI'll be a few thousand miles away (but very available by smartphone); my roommate is quiet as a mouse but happy to make conversation if you want to be social. He's a college student. The NeighborhoodIt's quiet, friendly, safe, and close to a ton of awesome stuff. Getting AroundThere's epic public transit as mentioned above. Ample parking is available on street. To get to our place from SFO, take Bart to Caltrain (less cumbersome than it sounds) and it'll leave you about a 12 minute walk from our door. You can Uber, walk or take a short bus to get straight to the door. From SJC, you can take Caltrain to the same stop. Other Things to NoteAs someone who works in service (I'm a lobbyist) my goal is to make your stay as awesome as humanly possible. As a new Airbnb host I'm committed to going beyond the extra mile to make that happen.

The SpaceYour bedroom is upstairs in the front of the house with a private entrance. The Living Room is your personal room as is your private bathroom; all separate from our part of the house. (Its nice to be older) Full access to a great kitchen; dishwasher, gas range and cooktop with granite countertops. High speed WIFI, of course. We are, of course, LGBT friendly. And no stink'in Cleaning Fee! Who thought up this idea? Probably the same folks that charge for bags on airlines! The SpaceThis is a uniquely beautiful Arts and Crafts cottage (roughly 110 years old), set in a Woodside redwood grove, both built and curated by local artists. The living area has a fireplace, a sofa, and a queen-sized bed. There is a bathroom and shower, and a small adjoining kitchen (with stove, oven, sink, refrigerator, and microwave), next to an outdoor dining/lounging area. The surrounding garden and grove provide plenty of space to sit with a cup of tea, and watch the sun streaming through the redwoods. The Cottage and Environs Built in 1905, the cottage is one of the oldest buildings on Kings Mountain, and contains many of its original architectural features, including rough-cut redwood beams on the interior ceiling, and exterior posts. Enjoy an environment nurtured by the unique artistic traditions of the San Francisco Peninsula, with paintings and sculpture by local artists. Local lore has it that a young artist woman, trying to escape the wild cosmopolitan life of Victorian San Francisco, built the cottage using only a few rustic tools and her bare hands, having driven most of the building materials down from the city by horse and cart. It has been remodeled and updated many times over the decades, but without fundamental alteration to the builder's original vision of a small folkloric cottage among the enormity of the nearby trees. The Woodside/Kings Mountain Area The sleepy community of Kings Mountain, California sits atop one of the highest peaks in the Santa Cruz Mountains, surrounded by redwood forest in all directions, full of hiking trails, and a 15 minute drive from miles of pacific coast beach. Situated on the Skyline Scenic Corridor and wedged at the convergence of three beautiful recreation areas (Huddart Park, Purissima Creek Redwoods, and The Phleger Estate) the cottage has more than a hundred miles of hiking and biking trails winding through the immediate vicinity. It is only 25 minutes from San Francisco to the North, 15 minutes to Stanford University to the East, 15 minutes to Half Moon Bay to the West, and 30 minutes to the heart of the Silicone Valley to the South. There is an excellent restaurant (The Mountain House) within easy walking distance that includes a bar. Just up the road in Skylonda is the famous Alice's Restaurant. The Troutmere Hatchery in nearby La Honda offers family fishing fun on weekends. Minutes away there are many small farms along the Pacific Coast Highway which are open to visitors. The region is renowned for its natural beauty, prolific local artisan community, wineries, and close proximity to other popular Bay Area destinations. Cyclists, hikers, art lovers, and nature enthusiasts will find Kings Mountain to be an ideal getaway. The community center across from the property is well-known for hosting the annual Kings Mountain Art Fair. Guest AccessThe driveway is easily accessible. There are four stairs to ascend on your way to the entrance. Interaction with GuestsNo interaction necessary. We can leave the key on site, and you can leave the key back under the mat, and lock the door on your way out. The NeighborhoodDO NOT PARK ON THE STREET! PARKING ON THE STREET PREVENTS NEIGHBORS FROM REACHING THEIR HOMES! Park in the driveway, or on County Road. NO EXCESSIVE NOISE LATE AT NIGHT! NEVER BOTHER THE NEIGHBORS WITH REQUESTS OR CONCERNS! Send us a message through the airbnb portal. We check it often. We have some of the best neighbors around. Please be courteous when dealing with them. Getting AroundThere is no public transport of any kind. Other Things to NoteOnly Verizon signal up here at the moment, but AT&T is working on a tower near-by.

The SpaceI offer a private serene room in a beautiful house in Silicon Valley. The room comes with a bathroom with tub and shower. It gets lots of sun, and you are provided with bath salts and oils if you want to soak in the sun or out of it. There is lots of free street parking. If you would like off-street parking in the house parking lot, that would be $2 per day. There is a family room and a fire place to hang out, as well as a relaxing patio and two decks for enjoyable outside seating. I am an easy going, open-minded, well-traveled person, who enjoys good company and conversations. The house is in a quiet neighborhood in Emerald Hills. Restaurant and shops are within 2-10 minutes driving distance. I offer free wireless internet, a library with TV, and coffee or tea if needed. Please don't expect absolute perfection though, because the price reflects what expectations should be. The hotel room prices in this area are $165 per night for a single room for three-star accommodations. I love eating out and have lots of good recommendations for ethnic restaurants on the peninsula as well as in San Francisco. There is easy access to 280 and 101 and you are within minutes in Palo Alto/Stanford. San Francisco is a 35 - 40 minute ride by car depending on traffic. SFO is 25 minutes away and there is Caltrain access Guest AccessGuests will have full access to the kitchen, deck, patio, garden, and laundry room. There is a $5 charge to use the laundry room, but everything is provided.

The SpacePrivate bedroom with shared bath in the upstairs 2br 1ba home of a duplex. The bed is a queen size inner spring futon with a 3" dense foam pad. It's very comfortable, I know, having slept on it a few times already. Both the bathroom and kitchen are 5 years new. The rest of the house is colorful with many plants. There's a small deck off the kitchen that looks over the trees and the creek, where you can watch the hummingbirds or other critters that live among us. There's basic cable TV and over 100 DVDs and tapes you can watch. I have 2 very friendly foster cats who are occasionally surly with each other. Breakfast is included for stays of 10 days or less and you are free to use the kitchen. as long as you promise to clean up after yourself. I work during the day most of the time, and when I'm around I'd be happy to drop you off at the train or some other place. The house is located at the dead end of a street and has many trees around the back and sides of the property. We don't get the noise of a street that has through traffic, but it does sometimes get neighbors double parking. With some maneuvering we can get a second car in and out of the right driveway. Downtown Redwood City is a couple of miles away and has many restaurants, shops, a multiplex theater and outdoors events during the summer months. There is also a large community park a block away. The SpaceI offer a private serene room in a beautiful house in Silicon Valley. The room comes with a shared bathroom with tub and shower and lots of free street parking. The room could comfortably fit two people. SFO is 25 minutes away and there is Caltrain access. Guest Access Guest AccessGuest have access to the kitchen with all the necessities for cooking and the refrigerator. They also have access to the laundry machine. Guests are welcome to ask me for anything they need. I'm the kind of person who has just about everything on hand - my mother always said I should open a neighborhood store! But for my Airbnb guests, I won't charge anything of course. Obviously, as well, absolutely everything that a top hotel would provide, like comb, razor, toothbrush and toothpaste, sewing kit (am I missing anything?) will be provided, just ask. Interaction with GuestsI interact with my guests as much as they want me to. I pride myself on having a sixth sense of what people want. A lot of the time it's privacy, so I provide a lot of quiet and privacy for my guests. The NeighborhoodAs someone who lived in Paris and Tokyo just before coming here, I love the incredible feeling of living in the countryside, yet having the most modern amenities of urban life just five minutes away. I still marvel that such luxuries actually exist. My favorite is Edgewood Park and preserve, with forests and hiking trails, just three minutes away! Getting AroundThere are buses and Caltrain Other Things to NoteParking to the right or in front of the house would be $5, because I have limited parking available. However, there is free street parking too.

Please do not bother even making an inquiry if you or anyone in your group smokes! Whatever brings you to Silicon Valley -- business travel, dinner with Peter Thiel or Mark Andreesen, pitching your startup to Sequoia or YCombinator, a vacation, or visiting friends or family -- my place is right in the middle. Depending on traffic, you're within a 10 - 30 minute drive of a veritable alphabet soup of world-renowned companies such as Apple, Brocade, Cisco, Dell, EBay, the big F, the even bigger G, Hewlett Packard, Instagram and Intel and Intuit, Juniper, the company starting with "Linked" and ending with "In", Lyft, Microsoft, Netapp and Netflix, Oracle, Pinterest and Pixar, Qualcomm, Rambus, Symantec and Square, the Tweet company, Uber, VMware, Western Digital and (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN), Xilinx, the purple company starting with "Yah" and ending with "oo", and Zynga. Ok, I'll confess that Lyft, Oracle, Pinterest, Pixar, Square, the Tweet company, Uber, and Zynga are actually a bit to a lot further than 30 minutes! :( I was just trying to fill out the alphabet.

The SpaceI offer a private serene room in a beautiful house in Silicon Valley. The room comes with a shared bathroom with tub and shower and lots of free street parking. SFO is 25 minutes away and there is Caltrain access Guest AccessGuests are welcome to ask me for anything they need. Getting AroundThere is bus and Caltrain. Other Things to NoteLaundry is $5 per load
